I decided on these after reading numerous other reviews and was pleasantly surprised when I finally tried them on. The first thing I noticed as I looked them over was how light they were. That adds to the comfort. I anticipate wearing these for many seasons. I would also add that the phone support was helpful and accurate as I was trying to determine what size to order. I ordered these in the middle of February even though I was notified that they wouldn't ship until April 22, but was very pleased that they came much earlier, just in time for another big snow. Well done, LL Bean!

as someone who needed a good pair of boots i had heard and seen that a lot of quality went into the making of their boots. so i had no reservations about ordering them from ll bean. they not only arrived earlier than the listed delivery date, but they fit to perfection. they have kept my feet both warm and dry and have been good with all the snow we've had here especially up to my ankles.

These boots are great. They aren't the big heavy boots that most are, but they do everything that you need. They are comfortable, light weight, and keep your feet dry and warm. I'll get another pair as soon as these wear out, but that will be awhile because they last.

I needed a good pair of boots that were warm enough for snowy days in the northeast. After all the times I heard about the legendary Bean boots, I finally dove in to get a pair. My first pair was the regular boots, with no insulation. They were very comfortably, and looked great, but if I stood outside for a bit, my feet definitely got cold. I then stepped up to these boots with the thinsulate, because in my opinion, goretex and leather is just an unneeded option. (Beeswax is perfect!) Since then, I wear these boots EVERYDAY. I've stepped in deep puddles, to huge snowbanks, and I have not had my feet wet yet! They have stayed dry and warm!

This style was so popular at Christmas, so when I had to do an exchange of the first pair received (order one size down from what your norm would be) it was on backorder. I purchased these for my son to keep his feet dry and warm during this rather unexpected snow season. When he found out he'd have to wait till February, he wanted to find a different brand. I insisted that these are the "best" made brand available and will last him for years. As, I wore the same boot 24 years ago in college. The order was filled earlier than expected. When I dropped them off to him at school, he was so surprised at how nicely they fit and the quality bar none. He called his father twice to thank us and express his appreciation of having made him wait. Excellent shoe purchase for any age and worth any extra wait time required.

I have wanted to purchase these boots for years, and was finally able to gather the money. WORTH EVERY PENNY. The boots have been great through all 13 Connecticut storms this year. Warm, waterproof and just flat out comfortable. Highly recommended.

I wear a size 10.5 and the Bean Boot size 10 fits perfectly with a regular sock. I've worn these in 2" of slush and 6" of snow for hours and my feet were bone dry. Even with the Thinsulate, though, my feet were never warm and toasty. I would caution you that if you really want a warm boot to maybe invest in the shearing-lined. One great feature that I never thought much about is the sole. The treads are not deep, meaning it does not keep mud and dirt and also dries really fast. The rubber is on the softer side and is very comfortable to walk around; it's also quiet on floors so you don't have to wake up everyone when you walk in. I love the fact that it is made about 4 hours from my house. I had to wait for about 6 weeks due to back orders and it was worth the wait.

I was a bit skeptical about buying boots on line due to proper fit, but with L.L. Bean's Customer Service track record I knew I could return them no questions . I received my boots in time for the nastiest winter in Pa.in many years and they are warm, extremely comfortable and very well made. The recommendation to order a size smaller than you would normally take is spot on .

The Bean Boots continue to be great, even after all these years. These size 10 boots were at least a size too large, however, for my size 10 feet. I have returned for a size 9 and hope they fit better.

I replaced a pair of old uninsulated leather boots with a pair of these, intended mostly for winter use. Feet went from wet and cold when finished outside, to dry and warm. BIG difference. Obviously well designed and well constructed. I was torn on sizing; I wear a 10 shoe but I also wear heavy socks in my boots for winter use so I stayed with 10 for the boots instead of dropping to a 9 as suggested here. The boots work fine with the heavy socks but I can tell there will be looseness if I want to use them during other seasons with lighter socks. If I had ordered the 9 as suggested, I'm afraid it would've been tight with the heavy socks. If LL Bean had an extra insert available (an option?) for warmer-season use that I could switch in & out, I would probably use the boots during other seasons when lighter socks would be more appropriate.

I bought these boots early this year, just in time for the onslaught of snow we've had this year. The boots have performed admirably, whether it is for shoveling snow from the driveway, to wearing all day long. The Thinsulate is enough to keep my feet very warm in these boots. Highly recommended!

I bought the thinsulate boots based on the sales rep's recommendation and am very happy that I went with them. I should have bought these boots years ago.

I bought the 8" Thinsulate as my first winter boots and I'm in love with them. I live in Chicago and this winter has been brutal but these boots have faired really well against all the snow, puddles of water and salt stains. I usually wear a 10.5D and I ordered a 9 and it fits well. Definitely do not order a 10 if you are a 10.5 or 10. Anyways, I love wearing these boots since they keep your feet dry. I purposely step in puddles and some larger snow banks just because I know the boots can handle it! It's pretty amazing how well the boots are designed, and there's a sense of pride since they're made in the USA. I'll definitely be wearing these boots for the next years to shovel snow, walk in snow/rain and other similar conditions. I just have two criticisms about the boots. My left boot has what looks to be more leather on the tongue part, so if I don't wear long socks it digs into my skin and has caused a rash/cut since the leather rubs into my skin. Not really enjoyable but I think it's getting better. Two, it's been pretty cold in Chicago this winter and I've found my feet getting cold when its colder than 10 degrees. I'd assume if you live in Minnesota/Maine area you would want to grab the boots lined with shearing. Still, those criticisms aren't big enough to impact the 5 star review. Spending $200 for boots that last 15+ years is definitely worth the value, so LL Bean deserves the money for job well done when keeping jobs in America.

This was one of the best purchases I've made, not only because the shoes looks great, fit great, and feel great, but because of L.L. Bean's outstanding customer service. The boot itself is exactly like what is shown in the picture. Same brown leather, same grayish brown rubber bottom, same chain-pattern rubber bottom. To give you an idea on how good the customer service was, I ordered my 8" Thinsulate Bean Boots on Jan. 22, a time when they were in stock but 'not available until March 6th'. I went ahead and ordered them anyway feeling fine with waiting a month and a half for them. To my surprise however, I received them Feb. 8th! That's a full month in advance! This may be an anomaly, but I live in Ohio and don't live anywhere near L.L Bean Stores. That's some serious customer service. I've never written a review for any product I've bought online, but after receiving my Bean Boots #looking and fitting exactly how I expected# and receiving them a full month in advance, I had to write this review. I STRONGLY recommend this product to anyone looking to buy L.L Bean Boots because the quality and service that you get is phenomenal.

I finally got me a pair of LL Bean "classic" Bean Boots! Geez they're great. Got to wear in a good old fashioned Vermont snowstorm today. They're comfortable, dry and have great traction. You will not be disappointed. Get yourself a pair. Tell me - where can you get a pair of boots handmade? Exactly - one place - LL Bean!

Superb boots blending form with function. I live in Rochester NY so they are excellent in the winter and rainy months. There is just something about the rubber lower that meshes so well with the tan leather. If you do get these just make sure to buy Bean Boot guard or equivalent as well to waterproof and condition the leather.

Great boots my husband loved them but fit was not right I ordered them incorrectly. We hauled over to an actual store in my area and the customer service there was GREAT!!!! I had called ahead to see if they had boot in stock and spoke to a live person with a name! Upon arriving at store asked for person and was helped immediately! We tried on pair and still not a good fit my husband was a wide fit but long story short the boots are quality boots that you will not find an another store!!! Thank you LL Bean I would recommend this product and store.

I bought Men's because the Women's was backordered and I desperately needed them. I am a W11 shoe size normally and ordered the M8 Narrow. They are a great fit, and they come with a removable insert a nice detail I was unaware of. I have always liked the style of Bean Boots but I was hesitant to buy as had imitation ones before and the heaviness of the boot was rough on my ankle. These are much lighter than I expected, much to my delight. They feel more the weight of Hi-Top skateboard sneakers than boots. My feet are always freezing, I paired them with some thick LL Bean wool socks on a 0 Degree (F) day and they were toasty for hours. Originally backordered 1-2 weeks after I ordered I was a disappointed as I ordered the Men's one because they were not backordered. I was ready to cancel were they pushed back again, but they shipped 5 days earlier then the backorder date! An awesome surprise! And a note on my invoice from LL Bean apologizing for the delay. I sent a message to customer service about the split packaging and they were very fast and helpful in responding, nice to have a real person answering you. I am a loyal LL Bean customer for life. By far my favorite retail company I have ever dealt with!

I recd these boots for an xmas present. I have always been somewhat reluctant to buy them because of the price, but I finally recd a pair for the holidays. I never knew what I have been missing. I have owned all sorts of brand boots over the years and none compare to the Bean boots. I used them right away during the recent snow storms. They were superb. I was out in the "elements" for several hours and not once did my feet feel cold or wet. These are the best. If you like to be outdoors, get the Bean boots. The suggested sizing works well too. I usually wear a size 10 1/2 shoe and I recd the size 9 boots. They fit great!

Order a size down, as they run large. Excellent boots. They are very durable, and pair surprisingly well with many outfits. Do not hesitate to purchase these boots. They are absolute gems in harsh weather. The only issue I have run into is that my feet tend to sweat in them. Most likely a problem on my end, rather than the boots.

I have desired buying a pair of these boots for the last few years, but was hesitant because of the cost. I have had imitations and they in no way compare to the quality of these boots. The thing that really struck me is just how light and comfortable these boots are. You almost never want to take them off. Mine were backordered too, but L.L. Bean still did a great job in getting them out to me reasonably fast. I've since ordered a pair for my girlfriend. With proper care these should be the only boots that we will ever need. Warm, Dry and Happy Feet! Thanks L.L. Bean for a great product!

Bought these boots for my son for Christmas. They were back ordered, but ended up being delivered a couple of weeks before promised. My son loves the boots and said the fit was good.

I tried on 6 other brands of boots that were less expensive than the LL Bean. All of them lacked any decent support, most were too narrow and just not comfortable. I ordered the LL Bean in my usual size but they were too long, so I ordered one size shorter. I am THRILLED with the fit and especially the design and quality of workmanship on these boots. They feel very sturdy, comfortable and have excellent support. They feel great and I think they will last me for years to come. I think they are worth the high price, now that I have compared them to other brands.
