Now that we're fully immersed in winter, I've had the pleasure of trying out (several times) the new Bean Boots I purchased last spring. I went with the 8" insulated as the average snowfall in my area is generally < 6" at a time, though we were hit with 10-12" this past weekend with subzero temps, when we're rarely below 10 degrees. Regardless, the boots were a great purchase. My feet stayed warm and dry.

I bought the bean boots for my boyfriend for Christmas and he loves them. He has been wearing them everyday. The staff was great and advised that they do run a size bigger so I bought him a size 10 as opposed to his normal size 11 and it was a perfect fit. They are comfortable and warm and I am satisfied with this purchase.

I bought this pair of 8" high Bean Thinsulate boots specifically for use in the snow. I work at a university and the sidewalks are not always shoveled or clear, and often, you have to create your own path. I wear a size 9 and these boots in a size 9 fit me great--predictably, they are they are a little tighter when I wear heavy wool socks and a little looser when I wear thinner dress socks. I bought the Thinsulate-lined boots because I have the shorter LL Bean boots/shoes that are Thinsulate-lined and they have held up very well and have kept my feet warm and dry for several years. I bought the higher boots to keep my ankles warm and give me some support when walking through heavy snow. I had a little chafing above my ankles until the boots broke in, and wearing heavier socks helped with that issue. The leather loops help me pull the boots on over heavier socks and they are thick, solid pieces of leather, incorporated very well into the leather uppers of the boot. One of my favorite things is the laces--many times boot laces get worn out and come untied after awhile; the LLBean laces do not--I tie them once and they stay tied. Overall, I am very happy with the fit, the quality, the performance and the styling.

These boots are the rage in Grandson's high school. Got him boots as Christmas present with thinsulate and he is happy to show them off. Well made, warm and waterproof, what else is there.

I ordered these in preparation for an ice storm that was going to hit Oklahoma. I was wearing summer hikers as my main shoes at the time. The boots came and the Thinsulate keeps my feet amazingly warm, even in the snow and ice. And the rubber keeps mt feet completely dry. The quality of materials used and the workmanship are the highest. I will have a pair of these from now on. Given the quality, that won't be very many pairs. I expect these will last for 10+ years.

the size chart is absolutely correct if you follow the recommendation you can be sure the boot fit great boot I love it

These boots are awesome! What a great fit. I got them to have something waterproof at the stone saw but found them fit for wearing all day.

Had a pair of the original boot with no insulation back in the 90s- used them til a puppy killed them. Took a shot with the thinsulate in the rubber part of the boot only as the plain rubber can be cold here in the Northeast. Ordered same width (Narrow is my size) and one size short as suggested, use my regular socks- perfect, my favorite shoe, no doubt about it. A good product, made in America is timeless- should have bought these a while ago- Thanks L.L. Bean.

I wear a 9.5 E in a typical shoe. Ordered the 9 EE as suggested. Wearing a mid-weight wool sock, the fit is perfect. Still made as well as the first pair I owned in the 70's. Made in the USA, also.

I attend a boarding school that requires me to walk from building, a few times a day through the snow covered sidewalks. Wherever I go, I wear my Bean Boots. My feet are always warm and dry. These boots are absolutely fantastic. The only thing critical I have to say is that they run a little large so be careful when choosing a size. My Bean Boots are the best!

These boots are warm in the snow and provide a good foot grip on snow packed and icy roads. Very comfortable to wear and walk in.

I wear size 11.5 shoe normally. The instructions suggested that I order size 10, and I considered doing that. But there is nothing more useless than shoes that are too small, and I like a bit of room around the toes. So I ordered the size 11, which turned out to be the right decision. The width was true to size. I wear them with my regular cotton socks. The boots go on and off easily, and are not the least bit too large. I have only had them a few days, and have only worn them for quick chores outside. They are warmer than regular shoes over the foot, but not particularly warm at the ankle. The "tongue" is sewed in all the way up like a rain boot, so they will certainly keep snow and water out unless it tops the boot. am happy with them.

These are the perfect boots for surviving in the winter. I wear them almost daily; whether it be to the office on a snowy/icy day, a Bears tailgate to keep my feet warm and dry, or to run some errands around the city. All in all a great purchase!

My last pair of "Duck Boots" finally wore out after ten years. New ones are just as I expected, well built, dry and comfortable. Sizing instructions are right on. Looking forward to another ten years.

I bought these boots in July, so they've been sitting around waiting for winter weather to really see how they do. I ordered them according to the chart for foot size and socks. When the boots came in I tried them on and found the fit was great. I've worn them several times over the past two weeks and like them very much. The uppers are leather and are still stiff, but that will work itself out as the boots are used. I'm looking forward to years of use.

I bought these for myself and my husband loved them so much he wanted a pair. I ordered the size he usually wears in shoes and they fit great! He is actually wearing the boots right now in the nasty weather we just here on the East Coast.

The classic LL Bean boot with thinsulate is great!! Everyone should own a pair.

I bought these boots when I was in college in 1976. I still wear them every winter. Mostly I wear them in the snow so I haven't even worn the tread all the way down yet and they are in great condition. Will probably last a lifetime. Simply amazing!

I was look for the original boot a long time, very happy i finally found it. These are the best boots for wintertime in Switzerland.

I got these for my boyfriend and he loved them! He wears them almost every day! He says they are very warm, comfortable, fit perfectly, and are his new favorite shoes haha I'm pretty sure he would sleep in them if he could! This boot is a great gift!

I have wanted a pair of these forever, but never really had a need for them until my recent Pheasant hunt in SD. They were everything I hoped they'd be. Get some.

Fantastic boots--I've never seen a pair worn in my area, and I've never heard of anyone owning a pair. Free shipping to Canada, (and if need be: return shipping to Montreal, rather than across the border) sealed the deal for these boots. I'm thrilled with how well these boots are made, and I know without a doubt that they will keep my feet warm and dry this winter (and I think they look pretty sharp, too)

Should have ordered 2 sizes down from my normal work boot due to half size..Customer service was beyond excellent!!!--There sending out a new pair a size smaller even though I wore these.(Tried different thickness of socks)-Would def recommend to a friend or family member and will def. continue to do business with them!!!-
