No break in needed. Soft and cozy yet lightweight. I live in a high alpine environment above 9,000 ft and normally would extra waterproof boots asap. I have had these a few weeks now and have not added any water proofing and they shed water /snow well. I have wide feet and these fit comfortable and great! Very happy with the boots and will likely order another pair.

Love these! Got the brown/reddish tone, size 9.5. Perfect to wear in Minnesota with thick wool socks. They're roomy like reviewers said. I wonder if a size 9 would fit but either way I kept them and wear them often. I changed out the insoles because I have a higher arch. These are cute, comfortable to wear all day, warm, and cozy with the sherpa lining.

Stylish, warm, cozy inside and comfortable. The bottom of the boot seems to form to your foot. I love this boot!

Bought these for the purpose of slogging around in snow (with gators) but they turned out to be so cute I'm kind of reluctant to tarnish them with barnyard work. Ordered a 9, (I wear 8.5-9. This size requires a thick pair of boot socks to keep my foot from sloshing around. Not all bad. Really like them and would recommend for comfort, practicality and style.

I bought the red-brown boots and love them. They are warm and comfortable to wear for spring and fall hikes. It doesn't snow where I live, so I can't speak to the boots' performance in very cold weather. I bought a can of waterproofing spray to put on the boots, and that helps when walking through wet vegetation or a light rain. One of the online photos shows that the boots can be worn with the fleece collar folded down, but that doesn't work very well as the collar doesn't lay flat that way. The rugged tread has plenty of grip, and there is enough arch support for the average foot. I have a narrow foot, but can lace the boots to fit tightly where I need them. I bought a half size larger than I usually wear so as to accomodate thick hiking socks. I think these boots are well-made and will last me for years. They are just what I needed!

These are the best winter boots around - warm and soft but with great traction for walking on snow. I wish I'd bought them sooner.

They fit well from the first time I put them on, keep my feet warm and are just perfect for cold and snowy weather.

I can't say enough about these boots. They are super comfortable and cute and there was no *break in* period. I work at a school and we are outside twice a day. Some days, I wear them for 12 hours. When I get home, I do not even want to take them off. They have been super warm. I ordered my regular size and can wear thick socks. If you prefer thin socks, I would go down a half size since they are roomy.

Fantastic boot. It's just a bit reddish. I wore them snow tubing and found them to be adequately water resistant. There is just a tad extra space to accommodate a thicker sock. When wearing thinner socks, I'm able to pull the laces tight enough to avoid slippage. During our ski trip, I put these boots through the test and they came out on top. I would recommend them for anyone looking for a pair of boots capable of enduring rough terrain, medium warm, and cute for street wear.

These boots are true to their name, kept my feet warm and cozy even on days it dropped down to zero degrees. I ordered my true size and debated exchanging for a half size down but I'm glad I didn't because they fit well with thicker socks. The cushioning in them is insanely comfortable. Love!

The foot bed is super soft and cushy. The color is more of a brownish grey than grey, but still like it. They are roomy so I can wear a thicker sock if needed.

Excellent boots. Very comfortable, and keep my feet warm and dry- a plus. I also love the gray tone of the leather. Quality is superb. So glad I purchased.

These are the best looking 'snow boots' I have. Quality is great- I've been wearing them in below freezing weather, ice and snow and my feet are always warm and dry. Like some other reviews said this color is more of a worn brown / greyish brown than a true grey.

I love these boots! I had ordered a 7 in the Rugged cozy mid side-zip and they were too big and a bit wide, so I returned them and ordered these in a 6 1/2 and they're perfect! The laces make it better to tighten, although I'm not crazy about the laces themselves, but that's an easy fix! These boots are worth the money!

Super comfy boots! They are browner in person, but I like the color just the same. They work well with jeans and leggings and keep the feet warm in the cold weather. Just what I was looking for!
