These boots surpassed my expectations. They are so comfortable and the support is excellent - especially with my pronation. There is enough room for either lightweight or heavyweight socks. I will probably purchase the shearling boots next.

I've been wanting LL Bean boots with the flannel for years, but they've always been sold out. FINALLY I was able to buy a pair this year and they truly live up to their name. Great high quality and comfort all wrapped into this boot. I'm a size 9.5 with wide feet and I've read all the reviews to size down and so I did. I am glad I did! I've ordered a size 8 and they fit PERFECTLY with a tiny bit of room for thick socks and I gave the boots a "true to size" grade because once you order down, the boots do truly fit to size.

I love these boots so much! The leather is beautifully soft and broken in (tumbled) and the flannel lining makes them cozy. The size 7 fits me perfectly with medium to thick boot socks. I am a true size 7.5 in all other shoes. They are very comfortable and warm and I look forward to getting a lot of use out of them, especially in the fall season.

I have been debating about buying bean boots but when I saw these with the chamois lining I thought "these are just what I need". I wanted some lining so feet wouldnt be cold in winter but didnt want a shearling lining. the tumbled leather is also more comfortable than other bean boot options. i look forward to colder weather for wearing these! got them on a sale and also used a 10.00 gift cert. be sure to size down. i am a 9 and 8 fit just perfectly.

I didn't think I would love these boots as much as I do. So comfortable, warm (I wear without socks on occasion), and keep my feet totally dry. I throw them on when I head outside for yard work and feeding the chickens. Why did I wait so long to buy them?

I usually wear a size 10, but I ordered a size 9 and they fit perfectly. The flannel lining is perfect for this Fall weather.

I bought my regular size 7 as I tend to wear a 7.5 / 8 in sneakers and I'm very happy. I've worn both thinner wool socks and thicker cotton socks very comfortably. These boots' first wear was actually around a cabin in Washington and horseback riding in the forest being rubbed against a few trees and came out perfectly! They also wore very nicely to walk around Seattle. No break in time needed with these soft tumbled leather boots. I love the flannel lining and how securely they lace up around my ankle. I can see where those with tiny ankles or narrow feet should size down to keep the boots closer to your foot. They are almost too warm to wear above 50 degrees but they were excellent for the below 40 degree temps.

So happy with these boots! The tumbled leather makes them feel as though they are already broken in. They rub a bit on my ankle, but I believe with more use and thicker socks, that issue will resolve. I have only worn them indoors, so I am anxious to see how they hold up for a full day in the rain. I am a true size 8, so I ordered a 7. With thin summer socks on, I still have a ton of room! I am guessing a size 6 would have been too small. Would purchase again!

I wear a 6 1/2 or a 7 shoe. After reading the other reviews, I decided to try these in a size 6 and they're a perfect fit with a medium weight sock. They would probably be fine with thick socks as well, but I live in Texas and just don't ever need to wear thick socks. I've wanted a pair of these boots for ages. I'm so glad I finally decided to buy them. These boots are the most comfortable pair of boots/shoes I own. I highly recommend them.

I waited about 6 months to write this review. These boots are fantastic. I have worn them all over in different temperatures. Not in the snow yet, but the are perfect for the rainy fall and spring. In West GA our winters are very mild and can be wet. These boots hold up well and are worth every penny. I have true rain boots, which are fantastic, but are pretty well one unisex style. I needed these so I could have something weather proof that did not look like rain galoshes. Definitely buy them. As others state Bean boots run a size big usually, so unless you plan to wear these with THICK wool socks go down. I am a true 8 and I ordered a 7. The picture is after 6 months of on and off use and kicking around in my garage. They still look great!

Super cute and comfortable. Waterproof, but not too heavy so they are still comfy. I ordered a size 10 because the 9 was out of stock, and I was worried because I'm usually a 9.5-10. However, they fit just fine with a little thicker sock. I love the flannel and I found myself wishing for rain so I could wear them more!

I got a size 7 in these boots. I typically go back and forth between size 7.5 and 8 for most of my shoes, and then SOMETIMES size down to a 7 - of course, it just depends on the type of shoe. Based on the other reviews, I decided to go with a 7, because it sounds like these shoes are made on the bigger end. I am happy I sized down to the 7, because they fit perfectly with a medium thickness sock. Highly recommend!

THANK YOU LLBean and Miranda for my wonderful flannel lined Bean boots!! I just wore them today to sweep off my pine needle covered deck on a glorious cold sunny day. They kept me warm without sweating, they and were so comfortable right out of the box with mid-weight wooly socks. The materials and workmanship are fantastic and, after debating whether I really needed another pair of boots, I am so glad I bought them. I normally wear an 8 in boots and I ordered my regular size because I knew I'd use heavy socks. I had plenty of room to let the warm air circulate around the toe box. This is important because rubber is not a great insulator even with a lining. And miracle of miracles, they were not backordered til next April (: Very fast shipping as always.

So I usually wear a 7.5 in most shoes and I purchased these boots in a size 7. They fit great but I do think they'd be tight if I was wearing super thick socks. Because I wear thin socks, they're perfect. So far, I've only worn them in the snow once, but I can see why you'd want thick socks since the front where your toes are isn't insulated, and I could feel the cold through the boots. Overall, these are super cool looking, I love how comfortable they are, and how protected I feel wearing them in nasty weather. Definitely a great purchase!

These are exactly what we wanted! I'm in love with these boots! As for fit..with a thick sock they are perfect. Planning to order the shearling liner for the footbed so I won't always need that super thick sock. They are winter boots after all so thick sock is usually indicated but I bought the flannel lined so I could use them in the summer too. Felt the shearling would be too hot for year round use. I wanted to or Richard some for my husband but they are sold out. Hope LL bean plans to make more for the guys soon!

I am a size 8 1/2 and first ordered size 7, which were a little too tight across the top of my foot and my toes touched the end of the boot. My daughter, who normally wears a size 8 shoe, kept them because they fit her feet perfectly. I then ordered a size 8, which fit me perfectly and comfortably with the Bean boot socks. The leather is so soft and the plaid chamois lining makes them feel extra special. I like these boots better than the traditional red ones I bought a few years back, which are still stiff leather at top. And of course, you can't beat Bean Boots for being waterproof! 5 stars twice, from me and my daughter!

I have had my eye on these boots for a while but they were always sold out! Once my size was available, I immediately jumped on them and I couldn't be happier with them. The leather is soft and the shoes are ready to wear right away, did not need to break them in or anything. I really like that the lip of the boot is NOT sewed on so it is easier to get your foot in and out. The boots are also very warm. I ordered a size 6 based on reviews, I'm usually a true size 7. I was nervous to order a smaller size, but I'm glad I did! They fit perfectly and fit well with socks too.

My first pair of LL Bean Boots, and I am so happy I took the suggestion from a few friends to purchase a pair for myself. They have kept my feet warm and dry during rainy, cold New England days. I am a coach of an outdoor fall sport, and having these boots has been amazing. Feet are toasty warm and dry even on a cold 40 degree rainy November afternoon. I normally wear a size 11 shoe, but I took the advice of other reviewers and ordered a size down (10). Definitely a great suggestion, as they fit great with enough room to wear thick or wool socks.

I normally wear a 9.5-10 and ordered a 9 in these boots. They are still pretty large but if I wear thicker socks, there is no problem. I like them to be a big bigger so my toes aren't cramped. I'm a school teacher on my feet all the time and this boot is so comfy. I can wear them for 12 hour days and still keep going. I get SO MANY compliments on them.

I'm usually between a 9 and 9.5 for most shoes I purchase. I bought the size 9 thinking I'd order the smaller whole size and leave room for thick socks. Even with socks on I have way too much room in the toe. I plan on returning the size 9 and getting a size 8 instead. Otherwise, I really love the boot!

Great boots but I'd say if you're a half size you should size down not up.

I probably could have ordered these an additional size down (I usually wear an 8) but in spite of that they're my favorite all weather boots. So comfortable right out of the box and perfect even in cold rain or snow when paired with the right pair of warm socks. Highly recommend but take it seriously when they say to size down!

LL Bean boots are the BEST. I had the base pair which are great for light snows and rain but needed something a little warmer for heavier snows. These are awesome. Keep my feet perfectly warm and now I have a blue pair and a brown pair!!
