Comfortable fit & rugged soles! Mid-high supports ankles well! Great fall/winter wear!

Love the shoe. My last pr of LL Bean hiking boots lasted about 20 years. Hope these wear the same. Looks great too. Love the green color. Fit is perfect. I am a walker and I walk everyday, so my shoes need to be able to take a beating.

First things first: I wear a 6.5 Medium, but bought wide because the medium width was narrow and squeezed my feet. The wide is a tad too wide, but fits perfectly with thick socks. The shoe size fits perfectly, with room to wiggle my toes, and out of this world arch support. I purchased these hikers for hiking the sea cliffs of Rhode Island - Newport and Jamestown, which run high to shale: brittle, crumbling, eroding shale. The tread kept me surefooted the entire time - my friends could not believe how quickly I could bounce over the rocks and how light-footed I was across the muddy terrain. And WATERPROOF? WOW! I waded into the ocean at low tide - up to my ankles - and while the boots were immersed in the salt water my feet stayed 100% dry! As I walked back onto the land, the water beaded up and rolled off of these boots. I can't wait to try them in the snow! My one caveat about the fit is that they are stiff when you first get them; I almost returned them because they were tough to put on, but I loved the black and teal coloring so I gave them another chance. With each wearing, I was able to break them in a bit more and after about a week they were perfect. Not only do I recommend these boots, I gave a pair to a friend who hikes with me. She is an amputee, and commented that she feels very secure and balanced in them.

Got these boots for a two week trip to the Isle of Skye. As hiking in muddy bogs was on my list of things to do, I knew I needed a water-proof boot with a good tread. I have worn these boots all day every day for the first week of my trip and plan on continuing to wear them each day until my trip is over. Never a pinch or sore spot! Always water-proof! Nice looking! In other words, comfortable all day long.

Bought for my daughter who just moved from southern California to Boston. all she had was sandals and nothing for the Boston environment. These are waterproof and will work great in the snow.

I always have trouble with shoes and my feet. I am going hiking in Uganda in January, these shoes feel as if I have been wearing them for years! I am really impressed with these shoes. Uganda here I come!!

I bought this boot to stabilize my knees when walking. The boot fit well. I normally wear an 8 wide but prior reviews said size up so I did. With medium to heavy socks this will be perfect. It is stiff out of the box and I am breaking it in some by wearing it a few hours a day for a few days but it will be a great boot for walking and light hiking for me. It is well made and the waterproof liner looks good. Haven't gotten them wet yet but I expect no problems.

We've been buying these boots for our grandchildren to hike on vacation. Eight pair so far. All in great condition still

I love these boots. I wore them around the house for a couple of hours one day then went for a short 1-mile hike the next. No problems! They provide good support, including around the ankle. But I'm glad I read the reviews before I ordered. I ordered 1/2 size up in a D and they JUST fit. I may have been able to go a whole size up.

Fit is the same as other LLBean brand hiking boots I've purchased in years past. Comfortable out of the box except for the very top of the boot was a bit stiff. So I wore them around the house for a couple days and flexed the stiff upper part a few times before my first hike. I always wear a liner sock when hiking, so no problem with the upper part rubbing my lower leg. I haven't worn them in the rain or tried to ford a stream, but they were dry when hiking through patches of snow and in wet grass. Very comfortable for my day hikes.

Wanted to get a good boot for my Wife to give good support to her ankles, loved them had no problems with hikes at Big Bend

I'm in the process of getting ready to go to Yosemite National Park with my girls and their husbands. I wanted a good, waterproof boot that wouldn't take much to break in and I got it with these boots. We hiked one weekend just for fun here at home and they are comfortable and not to stiff, I would recommend these boots to anyone wanting comfort and style all in one boot. I love them!

I bought these boots because I was having pain in my feet and I have a bum knee, surgery didn't help. These boots are super comfortable and I wear them everyday to the barn. They come clean, are waterproof and I even ride the horse in them. Great around the stable.I own 2 pair and just ordered my daughter a pair. Highly recommend them.

This is my first pair of hiking boots in fifty years. I decided to try them to support my weak ankles when taking my dogs out, and they work really well. They are more of a medium/wide than a true wide, but my feet are very comfortable in them.

My old boots, wore out...and I took a chance on these, so glad I did. The BEST for traction...just look at the bottoms...they work like a snow tire.

I did a lot of research prior to making this purchase. These boots are just perfect. They are extremely sturdy, comfortable and waterproof. I plan to enjoy these for many years to come.

the first order was an 8 which was too small - the 8 1/2 fit my size 8 foot very well - very comfortable and have been wearing every day to do my 5 mile walk in the California rain :-)

I'll start off by saying that my feet are extra wide so I ordered these in the wide size hoping that they would fit comfortably. They do. The boots are so comfortable that they did not require me to break them in. I stand all day at work and my shoes must be comfortable and supportive. These boots offer good support around my ankles and the cushion inside is fantastic. They feel like sneakers. An unexpected bonus is that they kept my feet warm with me only wearing nylon knee highs. I wore them outside today and it was 18F. I walked about 12 blocks and my feet were warm the whole time. I am exposed to the elements at work so this is good to know. I wasn't expecting them to be so warm but its great that they are. Overall I would buy these boots again. I would also recommend them to a friend.

Purchased these for my daughter for Christmas. She loves them! Fit is perfect and they're very comfortable. Grip and traction are the best of any hiking boot that she's had to date. We're backpacking Yellowstone in the fall so expect another review then.

I bought these as beginner hiking boots. They took a while to get on at first and were pretty stiff up the sides, but they provided excellent support when hiking on the trails. They kept my feet warm and dry and were true to size. I got the mid-weight hiking socks and they go together perfectly.

They were comfortable right out of the box. Been wearing them for 3 weeks now. They are everything they were advertised as. I love them

A good boot at a good price.

I bought these for my wife. She has a wide foot and also needs something very supportive, as she is on her feet all day. Now, this is the only shoe she wears. I also have the same boot in men's and can't say enough good things about it. Secure, supportive, and real easy on the feet. You won't regret buying them.
