Usually get normal width & size 9. Tried these on @ outlet store so got the fit that was best. Wide felt great although I usually do not get that width. 9 1/2 fit well & I usually get 9. Wore them the 1st 2 days more than 15 hrs/ea with no break-in soreness in spite of some swelling in my ankle as I am recently out of a cast. Wanted robust soles to prevent slipping on ice & snow. Love them, just think about sizing up or try if possible. Very comfy.

I just pulled out a 30 yr old LL Bean lace up leather boot that I wore for tiring. Other than puppy chews in the tongue it was still functional, albeit a little small anyway this boot has the quality, support & longevity if that old boot. HOWEVER, it is more like a B than the W that I ordered. I ordered a 6.5 W because Bean tends to full large. These fit me but a slight nagging in my right foot in the toes. I’m going to compare to the 7 that I just ordered. If the toes were a wee bit wider it would be perfect.
I would totally trust this boot to safely navigate me up a mountain side. They are not just glorified running shoes. I recommend but maybe a half size up if you have picky pinkies To LLBean - how about some bright colors like Columbia? ( 4 stars for boring colors)

Excellent medium duty hiking boot. Very well constructed, outstanding sole, and fantastic heel / ankle support. 10/10 would buy again if only they fit my son's awkward feet!

Given some earlier reviews about sizing issues (width), I had some trepidation about ordering these. I took the advice of previous reviewers and ordered a half-size up (an 8M instead of my usual 7.5M. They fit perfectly and are very comfortable and warm. They are also much cuter than they appear in their pictures.

All around outstanding hiking boot!
Very comfortable, supportive and sturdy. I am a 71/2 and they fit right on true to size. I am a big Merrell and Keen boot fan and now after testing my new LL Bean boots out on 7 to 10 mile hikes for the past 2 months; these LL Bean boots are in the ranks of Keen for comfort and being lightweight, but with the durability and quality of Merrells. These boots are so comfortable, I have no desire to to take them off after a 10 mile hike! Good job LL Bean! Very happy.

These boots fit perfectly! I've been wearing them on short hikes (under 5 miles) at first to break them in and have had no issues. The toe box is nice and roomy. And waterproof enough to step thru small streams. Nice & light weight too.

Light-weight hikers that do not bind at top of toes or heel. Great support allows me to walk all day without pain in arches or heels.

These keep my feet toasty warm on a cold night, but not too hot while hiking. They are comfortable and fit well with my arch support inserts without being too tight. Easy to tie and secure. Highly recommend.

This boot has a roomy toe box yet is perfectly snug at the heel, allowing for movement without sliding inside. These are my second pair. I've had my first pair for years and have happily used them in every season. The reason I got a second pair is because I wanted to use my first pair exclusively for when it's muddy
outside. The boots are great in snow, on rocks, and wet; feet stay dry, comfy, and protected. These boots are not flimsy.

They feel broken in already! I frequently use mine for heavy work in the yard - moving rocks and dirt in wheelbarrows. I am happy with my new boots.

I love these hiking boots. This is my second pair, I have the orange and brown ones and couldn't wait to get my hands on this color. The previous one carried me through many years and it was time to retire them after many many miles. Recently took these up Mt.Whitney with a pair of Darn Tuff socks and couldn't have done any better. I hike often, dirt and rocky terrains, and haven't had issues. They keep the water out pretty well, unless you're walking in a stream for 10miles (wouldn't advise).

Love these good-looking hiking shoes! Very pleased to get the wide width to ease my bunions and the shoes fit my feet well right out of the box. Had gone for a small hike, my ankles were well- supported by the height of the shoes.
