I have wanted a pair of these boots for a long time, but I was hesitant to buy online. I am so glad I got them. I wear about an 8 1/2 - 9 so following the advice I ordered an 8. They fit perfectly and are so comfortable. I've spent the past two days stomping around in the snow and playing in puddles like a kid, and my feet stay warm and dry. I couldn't be happier.

I went with the L L Bean size recommendations and ordered a size 6 the first time. I normally wear a 7-1/2 M. The length was okay but the boot hurt the top of my foot where the seam of the boot attached to the "shoe" part. Sent them back for a size 7. Much more comfortable; love them! Customer service was excellent so the exchange was a breeze! :-)

These are by far the best quality and most comfortable of this style. I've tried others, but the quality is no where near to LL Bean! Must have! Super cute!

Love the boots they definitely keep your feet warm and dry. The only thing I don't like is that you can't order half sizes because the boots are a little too big.

Have wanted these boots for a long time but was afraid to try to choose correct size online. ( 1 size smaller is right on target!). Fortunately was able to vacation in Maine recently and visited store in Freeport. Sales person helped me choose boots and appropriate socks. These are as comfortable as anything I've ever worn. Very surprised that a boot around the ankle could feel so good. And they work. In recent cold rain my feet were both dry and warm. Plus 20% off. Highly highly recommend these boots!!!!

These boots surprised me with how comfortable they are. They're not so easy to get on but once I get them laced up I don't want to take them off. Very happy with my purchase.

I really don't know how I went so long without these boots. They are so comfortable, durable and they look great too. The quality is better than I expected and I know they will last me a long time.

I love these boots. I'm still getting used to having a little more room in the toe (wearing large socks with good ventilation), but these boots are sturdy, supportive, and have already been a huge help for hiking and walking.
They're the best, and I hope that they'll last for years!

I normally wear a 9 to 9 1/2 in tennis shoes, and I got a size 8 in these shoes and they fit perfectly. My feet stay dry all day working outside in muddy animal pens. I wear medium thickness hiking socks with them, and they are very comfortable.

Love my boots have had them for about 6 months and wear them daily. Use them in the rain, light snow and cold weather and my feet stay dry and warm! Yes you have to break them in and I always unlace when putting them on. Because they are so well made I love that I will not have to replace them for years to come. Have also gotten so many compliments from men and women of all ages.

I purchased these boots at your new store in Boston in anticipation of a very wet Boston Marathon Day. Five of us were here to cheer on our runner. The helpful staff recommended I purchase them 1 size smaller as they run big. The fit is perfect.
We were out in the rain for almost 8 hours on Marathon Day. Boston received over 2" of rain. Others in my group were wearing a variety of boots - including rain boots. We did a lot of walking that day.
My feet were warm and comfortable the entire time. At the end of the day, I was the only one with dry socks.
I want to thank you very much for these fabulous boots! I am telling everyone about my experience.

I bought these for my college aged daughter in a size 6 (she normally wears a 7 or 7 1/2). They fit perfectly and she can wear them in all sorts of weather. They are comfortable to walk in and water-proof. No need to break in the tumbled leather. I tried them on hoping that they would fit my 6 - 6 1/2 sized foot, but they were too big. If you could make the mocs in a size 5 (which sold-out so fast), why can't you make these? BTW, when you decide to start making size 5, start with the shorter boots for us shorter people with smaller feet.

Great looking and fitting boot. I have a small farm and need something durable and waterproof. I think this boot will do the trick. The padded top provides comfort and the leather of the main part of the boot is quality. I think these boots are going to just get better . Lastly, the price point is excellent.

After years of wearing knock-offs, I broke down and bought a pair of Bean Boots. I Love Them! The fit is perfect. I listened to the reviews and Bean suggestions and ordered one size smaller because I don't plan on wearing very heavy socks with them. I was surprised that the tongue was sewn in on the sides, and wasn't sure I'd like that. I'm one to just slip my ducks on and not tie them unless I'm going to a store. These are made so well that I do take the time to tie them up so they can stay nice a lot longer. The tongue being sewn in isn't a big deal anymore. I love how they look with jeans as well as my white work pants. I look forward to wearing them for many years!

I had wanted these boots for two years.. Every year they have been backordered until way past Christmas. My husband bought them for me for Christmas. I love them. My boots were handcrafted by Jean and the Bean Boot Team. I am loving these boots. My husband was told to order down a size. I wear a 9 so he ordered an 8. It is a perfect fit. A little tight in the shaft squeezing into it, but otherwise a perfect fit.I assume they will take time to "break in' But were comfortable straight out of the box...I use every excuse to wear them! As a side note: I have tried many times to fix how the fit is to no avail. It will not let me set it to true to size.

Thank you Chris at LLBean for making my small batch blue tumbled padded 6" boots. They are so cute. I ordered the tan and the blue as some readers noted a size difference. I found they both equally fit. I can wear mid weight wool socks and get them on easily. They are both so comfortable! I decided to keep my brown ones to where weekend farming and the cute blue ones to wear around in town. Thank you so much for my USA made boots!!

I live in the Midwest and wanted a show that would be a good balance of cute, waterproof, snow-proof, and all around a quality purchase. After combing through every single review, I decided on this style in the tan brown collar and a size 6. For size reference, I am a size 6.5-7.0 in sneakers and 6.5 in flats, Chelsea boots, etc., and I have average foot width. I was very, very, very nervous the sizing would be wrong and that I would have to go though the process of returning them. When they arrived I noticed the soft yet sturdy leather on the top and how nice they felt (the footbed is very comfortable). The boots feel slightly roomy and breathable in light ankle socks (if I had ordered a size smaller they would have felt way too tight!), yet when I put on my fuzzy winter socks on it still maintained that same comfortable quality only they fit a little more snuggly (but not too tight, they were still super comfortable to walk in). While inserting your foot through the opening with fuzzy socks might involve loosening the laces a little bit, I did not find it too bothersome considering that the stitching is necessary for it to be waterproof. I decided to size one size down from my average shoe size (size 7 since that is the size I use for sneakers, which are always a roomy sizing instead of the tight and fitted feel of a 6.5), and I am so glad I did so! By sizing down you allow for a roomier feel for thicker socks, foot width, and movability. Definitely a quality and worthwhile purchase! :)

I have a gargantuan size 12 foot. My first pair of Bean Boots was the 8 inch unlined, in size 11 W, to accommodate a thick pair of wool socks. These have worked out great for Toronto winters. However, I wanted a shorter, lighter pair in a medium width to wear on muddy and wet spring and fall days with medium to light socks. I pined over the 6 inch boots for quite a while, and was pleased to see the small batch boots hit the market. I didn't pull the trigger in time to get the purple/black, but one day I was browsing and found the field olive/brown/sail orange six inch boots with the padded collar on sale. I hadn't been thinking of getting the padded collar boots at all, but I loved the orange soles and the exchange rate being what it is, I bought them.
These are lovely boots! The combination of the three colors is fantastic, much better in person than online. The boots were very well made, I think better than the navy/tan pair I bought. They fit perfectly with the medium weight merino wool socks I wear. I only suffered from three very minor disappointments: first, there was no card telling me who made my boots. I felt unexpectedly let down by this. Second, the boots had obviously been tried on as there were lace impressions on the leather tongue of both boots. Finally, I was surprised to find that one lace was much shorter than the other and I couldn't lace up one boot! These three things together make me believe that someone had tried on and maybe worn my boots before me. None of these issues are deal killers, but I did have to chat with LL Bean about sending me another pair of laces, which I have to wait about a week to get. I hope they are at least gracious enough to send me a pair and not just one.
What really surprised me is how much I ended up liking the padded collar. As great as Bean Boots are, you know the thicker full grain leather can chafe the ankle and leg. The padded collar is a nice added design element, and a pleasant surprise is that the soft leather around the collar isn't just around the padding, it extends down into the boot and lines the entire leather upper. This lining makes the entire leather upper very smooth and soft on the inside. All in all, I'm very glad I got the padded collar boot instead of the plain boot!

Love the fit and feel of my Bean boots. Glad I ordered the padded collar. The leather is supple and substantial and laces up easily and securely. Exactly the boot I needed for our farm and trekking to streams to fly fish.

These are gorgeous boots -- a nice change from the standard brown Bean boots that everyone has. At first they were a little hard to get on, but now they've broken in, and fit wonderfully. I even went for an impromptu mile run in these and they felt great! I usually wear an 8 - 8 1/2 in shoes, and I ordered a 7. They fit well with thin and thicker socks.

I did my homework for these boots (reviews and in store try on). This is what I found, I am a size 9.5 in Nike sneakers and a size 10 in heels also my foot is med-. I tried on a size 8 in the 8" tall fury ones "sorry don't know the name of them". I was able to wear them without my toes touching the ends but that was with a no show thin sneaker sock. I knew if I was going to use these for anything other than rain they would not work. I then purchased "these" in the size 9. They are a little wider and had more room in the toes but not huge by any means. The size ended up being perfect for all year, not just snow or rain. The complaint that the opening is small is valid but they are leather and will adventually stretch out like leather does. I have Planter Fasciitis and they don't hurt my foot at all. I can't wear uggs because the pain is sooo bad. I absolutely love these boots and the height is perfect too, no rubbing the ankle bones. Anytime you buy new leather anything you just have to give it a little time to conform to you and what you need it for. I have done a ton of running around the town with them and they are great for driving and every day errands. We have not had much snow yet so don't know how they will live up to 8 feet of it "LOL" but no my feet have not been cold in the few inches so far or the temp dropping to 0'. I definately recommend and am soooo glad I bought when I did. Everyone else has to wait months and I scored on line and had them within 2 days. I love llbean products and they did not drop the ball on these. Sincerely, a very, very picky shoe women

These Bean Boots are everything I hoped they would be! I bought these when my husband and I left LA to live in the mountains of Southern California for the 15-16 snowboarding season. I'm originally a Mainer; born and raised in Aroostook County which means that L.L.Bean is my go-to for winter wear!
These booties follow through on every level. Easy to wear with anything and still look adorable, keep your feetsies snug, and stand up to wear and tear. They are perfectly made (of course) and kept my feet dry even when I fell into a slush puddle, because the tongue IS sewn all the way up to the top.
These boots fit exactly like the fit guide says they should. DO follow it! I have an extremely high instep and medium high arches and was concerned after some reviewers said they couldn't get their foot into the boot. I think they got the wrong size because I challenge you to a high instep duel. I do have to wiggle and pull to get my recommended size onto my feet, but once they're on they fit like a dream and are ultra comfortable for hours and hours.
The padded collar is not only cute and looks great with my favorite skinny jeans, but adds a level of comfort for my achilles. They are not meant for truly frigid temps without a good pair of wool socks in there, and if you're wanting to shovel your drive-way after a 2 footer then you need a taller pair with Thinsulate.
Overall: these get a 12 out of 10! They have become my favorite everyday shoe while I'm running errands, getting coffee with the girls, or going for a winter walk. Thanks for always being there for me to keep me cozy, L.L.Bean!
