I ordered my normal size, but had to do an exchange for the next smaller size. I love the way the boot looks and fits. I've been waiting 2 years to get this boot and glad I finally made the purchase!

Had a pair years ago. Just got new ones, love them! Kinda pricy, but in the long run, (10+ years average), worth every penny! Considering getting all my daughters ( & in-law) a pair for next Christmas.

I normally wear a size 8.5 in tennis shoes and was recommended to buy a size 7 in these boots. They fit perfectly with thin socks. I am extremely happy with this purchase!

I bought these boots to help keep my feet warm and dry while walking my dog in early morning. The boots had a short time of breaking in and are very comfortable to wear. They have good arch support and feel very light on my feet. I am very pleased with my purchase.

Love my new Bean boots. I normally wear an 8M. I ordered a 7 M and they are perfect. In these boots, the tongue is sewed into the sides of the boot, so if you have a really wide foot or super thick socks, it is hard to slide your foot into the boot. I started wearing my boots out as soon as I got them & they don't need breaking in. Pretty comfy right off the bat. I am very happy with my boots & would definitely recommend them :)

Best purchase I have made in while. I went down a size as they suggested and they fit great for me, have plenty of room for thick socks. Took a few days to get used to the boot around my ankle but got better I am loving them they feel wonderful and I walk a lot in them. A little hard to put on but I'm adjusting still very happy with purchase

Simply THE BEST! I had my first pair of Bean Boots for nearly a decade before they wore out. My first pair was the thinsulate + gore tek version, and they were endlessly warm. They saw me through many a snowy New England winter and kept my feet dry - my only complaint was that sometimes my feet were actually too hot, and the extra fabric gets a little bulky.
Given this, for my next pair I wanted to try the non-insulated type. I was worried they wouldn't be warm enough, because I upped my game and moved to the midwest for a Chicago winter. But they're perfect! Definitely warm enough with wool socks. Plus, they are so beautiful. I really love the look of this less-bulky boot, as well as the padded collar at the back. They are still new but somehow manage to be soft, didn't require any breaking in at all to be comfortable.
I'm typically a size 8 or 8.5 and I ordered a size 7 - fits perfectly with medium to light weight socks. I'm sure it will be a little bit snug with super bulky socks but I haven't needed those and I'm confident they'll still fit. Thank you LL Bean for never letting me down!

This is the first pair of Bean Boots I've ever bought and I love them so much! The padded collar is cute and comfy, and the shoes give me good foot support. I usually wear a size 7.5 - 8 shoe, and the customer service chat rep recommended I get a size 7, which is what I did. There is a little room in the front, which is expected and gives me more flexibility if I decide to start using them with heavy socks; even so, it doesn't feel loose or hard to walk in. Yes, the tongue is sewed to the shoe, and yes, that does make putting it on a little more involved (I actually have to sit down to do it), but given the size I got and the fact that these are shorter than the typical boots, I didn't have any problems fitting my feet inside. And since I purchased these boots primarily to serve as my one reliably rain-proof pair of shoes, I don't mind having the sewed tongue to guarantee that my feet stay dry. I have yet to test these in really heavy rain or snow, but they've done well in moderately light rain and I have faith that they will hold up to more severe weather.

Fit exactly as expected, but one full size smaller as recommended with room for thick socks, comfortable out of the box! Really like the padded collar. Actually still have my ankle high pair from over 40 years ago purchased in college, appreciate that LL Bean quality that lasts.

I have been thinking about buying Bean boots for years. They are more than worth it. Great construction, comfortable insole, and love the padded collar on these ones. Read reviews noting they run large and agree. I am normally an 8.5-9 and bought an 8-- the 8 fits well and still have room for a thick sock.

I bought these last minute before a cruise to Alaska, and they felt great the whole time, even without a chance to break them in. I usually wear a half size larger, but even with heavy socks, they fit fine.

I had been putting off investing in rain boots, but I finally bit the bullet. I LOVE these boots. I ordered a full size smaller than my normal shoe and they fit perfectly. They were super comfortable the very first time I wore them, no breaking in necessary. Would highly recommend.

I normally wear size 6 1/2 in heels and flats but need size 7 in running shoes and hiking boots. I was leery about making this purchase because I thought I'd need a smaller size than 6 due to size chart recommendations but after ordering the 6, they fit PERECTLY! I wear medium to light weight socks with no issues getting the boots on or off.
Thanks LL for a great product!

I LOVE these boots! I wear them all the time! They are perfect for everyday use because they're adorable and look great with everything. I'm glad I bought them in store because I'm usually a 7 or 8 (usually an 8 but sometimes a 7) and I had to get a 6. They run really big so be careful. But once you figure out your size, they are amazing shoes! My mom also has a pair and she's usually a size 9 and she got a size 7.

At first, I was a little nervous reading the sizing guide to purchase a size down from what I would normally wear. I normally wear a size 9, so I ordered a size 8. When the boots arrived, they fit perfect! I even have extra room if I wanted to wear thick winter socks. I have been wanting a pair of Bean Boots for a while now due to the unpredictable Michigan weather, and I am so glad I finally have a pair - they are high quality and I love the fact they are made in the USA!

I am so happy I purchased these boots. I usuallly wear an 8.5 shoe, and based on a previous pair of Bean boots and the sizing suggestion, I ordered a 7M which fits perfectly. (I wear thin socks.) I chose the 6" tumbled leather because my pair of 8" traditional Bean boots just never felt right on my leg and the leather didn't have a lot of give. I gave them to my daughter who enjoys them. But I still wanted a pair of real LLBean boots, so I chose the shorter length, softer leather, and the padded collar. Perfection right out of the box! The foot bed is very comfortable and hugs my feet. I can't wait to use these on a trip to Norway this summer. Try the 6" tumbled leather boots - you will be glad you did!!

I ordered every single style of duck boots and this one fit the best! You will need a thicker sock if your foot is a touch narrow. This boot is super comfortable due to the leather backing on the heel. I promise you won't be disappointed.

I looked at the recommended size on the site. They said if you wear an 8 1/2 to order a 7 if you wear medium socks. So, I ordered a 7 and they were too short. I re-ordered and got a size 8 and they are perfect! I bought them because we are having a lot of rain lately. I really like the tongue of the shoes, which isn't separate as most shoes, but it is sewn into the sides which makes it more waterproof. My suggestion would be to order down to the nearest whole side if you wear a half size.

Great boots that have been getting a winter workout. Very happy with my purchase and the height of the boot I selected.

I am normally a size 8-8 1/2 (or 39) but ordered a 7 per size instructions (and because I have another pair of Bean boots that size). These are all I wear in the winter. I also have the 8" in a different color from a few years ago; the reason I like this 6" pair even better is that they are a little easier to get on and off, and once they're on, these are a little more comfortable around the ankles because of the lower height and padding--I never lace the 8" pair all the way to the top for that reason. Also, the leather on this pair is a bit softer and looks a little nicer than the others. A+

I had been looking at this type of boot for awhile and finally bought them during a sale. I followed the size advice and ordered 1/2 size down to allow for wearing of thick socks. While they are slightly big in the heel they don't rub or cause other problems. They are still a little stiff but I am breaking them in and know they will be perfect shortly! Overall very comfortable! I am so glad I bit the bullet and bought them. Anticipate they will become a favorite.

These boots were perfect for walking around the city or just hopping out of your car on the way to work. The manufacturer stated that they run big, so I bought a size down.

Ordered my usual size 9W. The boots fit very well. A little more loose with thinner socks. Originally ordered a size 9 per the ordering instructions, however the boots were too narrow. Exchanged for 9W & pleased with the fit. Customer service was great with the exchange.
