I am very very happy with these boots, and so grateful that the ones I REALLY wanted (Merrill's) were out of stock in my size no matter where I looked. I needed winter boots that would be good in snow and cold wet weather, although I didn't need really heavy duty ones. All the reviews I read said LL Bean's are tops, but I didn't want to pay a lot of money since I won't be using them constantly during winter. These are on the low end price-wise for LL Bean, and are just perfect. They are sturdy and waterproof, and I like the dark material at the top of the boot much better than the usual light tan. They are comfortable too - I've walked several miles on trails with them and was thrilled with the comfort, and expect I'll be wearing them more than I thought. The tongue is kind of odd, being not a tongue as much as a piece of material that's attached all the way up the front of the boot, so it's a bit tight getting on my feet, but the loop in back is great for pulling the boot on. I bought a size up from my usual as recommended, and was afraid it was a bit too big, but with medium weight socks it's fine.

These boots are fantastic! I've worn them to shovel snow without slipping and through the mud of my backyard. I appreciate the sizing information. Definitely use it! If I'd bought the size I typically wear they'd be far too big.

These boots are waterproof, have good support, and a sleek attractive look.

I got these boots just in time for a snowstorm. They have been perfect. They kept my feet warm and dry so I had to walk through snow and slush. I bought a 7 and was worried they would be small but they are roomie. That's fine with me so I can wiggle my toes and wear thicker boot socks. Besides doing their job for my feet I've also gotten compliments on them.

These are so amazingly comfortable! In middle Tennessee, mud comes after snows melt repeatedly through the winter, so heavy, warm, wool socks are necessary. However, we also have flooding and mud in the spring, summer, and fall making lighter socks necessary. These boots have the right shape and foot room for those changes. I normally wear a 7.5, so I ordered a 7 per the directions. The fit is perfect! My only regret is that I didn't get myself a pair of them sooner. By the way, I saw the "made by Alyssa card" in the boot box. Thank you Alyssa for making this fine pair of boots! Nice job! Someone in Tennessee is sending happy thoughts your way :)

These boots are exactly what I needed. I should not have waited so long to buy them! The black and maroon go great with my wardrobe.

Great boots! They fit very well. I tried the 8 " and couldn't get my foot in them. I returned and purchased these and they are wonderful.

My first pair of LL Bean boots and a great purchase. I live in Connecticut and needed to buy a pair of boots for the winter months when we get a lot of snow. Have used a few times and they are comfortable and sturdy. One foot is a little challenging to get on but I'd rather it be snug than loose. I sized according to the guide. I'm typically between 8.5 and 9 shoe size and bought the 8. Highly recommend. Solid purchase.

Who'd have thought that they'd feel as comfortable and supportive as my running shoes?

What can we say. They are great and practical. My granddaughter works with horses and has the 100th anniversary ones but wanted the lower 6" ones. She's in Florida most of the year.

Why did I wait so long?! These 6" boots with the padded collar are wonderful. Black rubber plus maroon leather compliments my wardrobe. I intend to walk the dog, hike, go out in the rain, attend soccer games, and generally do a lot of wet weather activities that I couldn't easily imagine doing without the proper footwear. I love these boots.

Excellent shoe. Casual and comfortable. Sizing runs large, room for thicker socks. I recommend trying them on with the sock you intend to wear with them.

Warm and comfortable. My old size 7 Bean boots were cold and my feet got clammy. These new size 7s are terrific. The padding is also a great addition.

I was unsure about ordering the regular 6" Bean boots or this padded collar type. I'm very happy that I ordered the tumbled leather with the padded collar. They take a little more time to get my feet into them ( I use a shoehorn), but I knew that would be the case as my old ones are the rubber moc type. I usually wear a 9 medium and, as recommended, I ordered the 8. They are perfect. I have some foot issues but the toe box makes these very comfortable and I've already taken my dog on some long walks. My feet stay warm and dry and I feel that these boots give my ankles some support as well. Mine were well made and I'm happy to support a company that makes these in the USA.

Great boots! Exactly what I was looking for. Definitely size down unless you plan on wearing them with very thick socks - which you will only want to do if it is really cold. The boots do not breath at all so in most situations your feet will be warm even with lighter socks.
