Mine are not blue; the leather is burgundy. 2+ years old, and have not had a lot of use until this year. This year we have snow where I live. Past the return period. I now have several pairs of very nice socks that are permanently splotched with burgundy dye that has bled from the leather uppers on these boots. I guess the solution is to only wear the dyed socks with these bleeding boots.

I wanted soo BADLY to have a pr of 6" boots. But AGAIN, I Tried and couldn't get my foot into them. I Loved the padded collar. But that gave me Blisters when I wore them. LLB boots are MADE VERY WELL! I have other brands that have worn out in no time. I think now I have over 10 pr, insulated, not insulated, shearling, low cuts, etc. I have canvas ones that look like they're distressed, etc. I LOVE EVERY PR I OWN! AND MADE IN USA! But these 6" ones Won't work for me. I VERY reluctantly sent them back for another pr of 8" cuts, which I really didn't need! Lol But I LOVE them! I ordered size 10 and have an 11 foot. I LOVED the blue color! The laces are short tho! I don't lace the last hole. BEWARE!

These boots are very attractive, are good for wet walking however there's a major problem. I went out for a short walk up and down our long driveway and my socks travelled down to my toes within the first few minutes. I kept pulling them up but gave up as the boots kept pulling them down. I'm so disappointed.

These didn't work for me at all. The tongue is fully attached on both sides, which I'm sure keeps them waterproof, but all that extra tongue just bunches up against my lower shin/front of ankle in an uncomfortable way. The whole ankle is too stiff and uncomfortable. Plus, they're way too big. My normal size is a 7.5 and the 7 is much too big even with heavy socks. There's probably 3/4" of empty space in the toe. Sending them back.

Bought boot to walk dog in snow and rain. Walk approximately mile twice daily. At this moment I have four blisters on my feet from the boots. Blisters on heels, toe and top of foot. Would return the boots but there is snow and I need them for the walks.

I ordered a pair in red, size 7. I normally take a 7 wide because I have a high instep. I thought these would work for me since everyone says they run big. Wrong! The opening is too narrow because the tongue is sewn in and the leather is very stiff. I struggled to pull the boot on. Once on, the boot was too long even with my heavy rag wool socks. I won't consider wearing a thin sock because these boots would never keep my feet warm. My daughter has a pair that's lined and zips up. I wish L.L.Bean would bring those back.

I wear a size 8 shoe, so I bought the 7 as I always do with Bean Boots. These boots are beautiful! BUT...the tongue of the boot is sewn to the lace holes portion of the boot and I cannot fit my foot through the opening! I am so sad. I have to return them. :(

I purchased this boot in the red two-tone color. The boot is lovely and very well sewn. Unfortunately, I have to return these because of a serious design flaw. The tongue is sewn in on the sides, and I could not get my foot past the opening. I have a similar pair of boots in a plum two-tone color and bought the same size again, so these red ones should have fit. I have to note that the plum boots also are a bit difficult for my foot, but the opening must be a tiny bit bigger. Ordering a larger size would not solve this problem, as it's not a problem with the foot portion. Perhaps it's just the shape of my foot, but I hope LLBean reconsiders the design. Please don't sew in the tongue!

I ordered the purple pair a while ago and finally got them. The opening is so small it is difficult to slide my foot into the boot. With thicker socks it would be impossible. This is my third pair of Bean Boots and the strangest fit ever...

I didn't put the boots on. This pair, like the 6" Bean boot (ie. unlined boot), the whole length of the boot tongue is sewn to the sides of the boot (next to the bootlace holes), and makes for a narrow opening. If I put on a thick sock, which would be what I'd wear with theses unlined boots, I'm not sure how comfortable I'd be forcing my foot into the boot. Pass on these. I re-ordered the prima-loft 6" bean boots. My feet are 10" long, always wear size 9, and size 8 fit in the 6" primaloft bean boot (which is not the pair I'm reviewing but just mentioned to be helpful).

I really needed a new pair of boots and was excited to get these, as they were similar in look to my old ones, that I loved. When I received these, I couldn't even get my foot in because the tongue is attached to the sides of the shoe lace of each side. I didn't return them, I gave to my daughter, but I would not recommend them.

These are beautiful boots and they're probably very comfortable because they have the roller collar at the top and the leather's quite soft, BUT I couldn't pull them onto my feet because the tongue is sewn all the way to the top of the ankles on both sides. I really wanted these to work and considered having my shoe repair guy cut the tongues loose on the sides, but since I couldn't be sure the boots would fit and I wouldn't be able to return them, I just returned them as they are. Very disappointed.

I spend a lot of time in the mountains and in rainy conditions and needed a new pair of boots. I was extremely excited about getting new ones. I have previously had LLBean boots over the years and they have lasted well over 10 years. Since it has been a while since I last ordered, I decided to follow the recommendations on sizing down. I normally wear an 8, but ordered a 7. The pair I received was too small. Stick with your true size. The pair I received was also defective., making the shoe even more uncomfortable. The interior leather of the boot was not sewn in properly. I have to say, for being handmade, this was disappointing that the quality control measures were not in place. I am undecided about exchanging or finding a new product.

Such cute boots. But, the first time I tried them on, the back pull tab ripped off the boot. Small batch indeed. Where, oh where, is the L.L.Bean quality of yesteryear? Leon would be broken hearted.

I own a pair of 5inch walking duck shoes in a 7 1/2 and they fit perfect. I love them! I take a 7 1/2 and purchased 6inch Duck Boots in a size 6 because it said they ran big. Sadly I was unable to get my foot inside the boot with lightweight socks. The opening is way too narrow for my foot to get inside the boot. Sorry but they are going back.

I was excited to receive these boots as they are cute (love the purple), comfortable, and since I have a large foot it was actually helpful that they run big. My heavy duty winter boots are a clunky pair of Sorels and I was looking for something I could wear when there's only a little bit of snow and it's not extremely cold. I was hoping these would work. However, after actually wearing them I am extremely disappointed. This morning I went for an hour long walk in 28 degree weather with two inches of snow on the ground. I walked both on pavement and through snow covered grass. Not only are my feet FREEZING, even with thick Smartwook socks, but the purple rubbed off on said socks and my feet are WET. These boots LEAK. Not what I expected considering the reputation of LL Bean and how much everyone loves these boots. Maybe I got a dud pair in terms of the leaking but these are not winter boots. If my feet are this cold now there's no way these things will be adequate for a Wisconsin winter. They're going back.

Please add size 5 to your other LL Bean boots/ shoes and wicked good slipper line. I wear a 5.5 and because they run big and the smallest size is 6 I won't even try them. I am sure that I am not the only one that is frustrated by the sizing.

I ordered these for my daughter, waited several months for them to ship. The VERY first day she tried them on, the loop strap at the back of the boot broke. She was using it to help pull on the boot and the strap came completely off! Had to order another pair, as she was sooooooo upset, and it's on backorder again for 1-2 months! I'm hoping the next pair is of better quality. If not, I will be returning them.
