These boots are stylish and warm. I didn't end up keeping them for two reasons. First, the cushioning on the soles feels a little thin. If you like a more responsive feel to your walking experience you might like this, though. I would have kept them anyway since I liked them, except that the toebox was too narrow for the bunion on one of my feet. Since that part of the boot is rubber, i's not something that would get better over time. The boots otherwise fit well (I'm normally an 8 and ordered a 7) so I didn't want to size up. If you don't have misshapen feet, these are a great pick.

Overall great. Comfortable right out of the box. Shearling is warm and quality. Wore them in moderate rain so far and they've kept mean feet warm and dry. Wish they came in half sizes. The threading is breaking/coming up in places which is disappointing but overall, I'm pleased.

I loved these boots. I live in Scandinavia and they kept my feet warm and dry in all types of weather, but especially rain. However, one boot broke at the seam after less than two years. This manufacturing defect and inability of LL Bean to offer a quality promise on such expensive shoes that broke in such a short period of time makes them not worth it. Further, the customer service representative offered to send the boot to LL Bean for repairs at a cost of 50 dollars and lead time of 4-6 weeks. I can take it instead to a local cobbler for 15 dollars and have it be done in one week. I am sad to say that in the future I will be taking my business elsewhere to a place that is more customer-friendly.

I have had these a couple of years now. I don't wear them often. I live in NE PA so winters are fairly cold 20's and 30's mostly. I put them on this morning to take the dogs out in the snow. Within 15 minutes my feet were cold. I've had them on for about 4 hours and my feet feel wet, maybe from sweating, but again, my feet were cold after 15 minutes standing on the snow. Just not what I expected for $250. Very disappointed, I should have returned them. I will wear them shopping when it's sloppy out, but certainly not for spending any amount of time outside. I also added an insole because they were not real comfy either. For the price, I just can't recommend them for what they are marketed as.

I bought these boots recently prior to a trip to Colorado and they were awesome. I always struggle with cold feet and these boots solved that problem. I did not feel cold at all walking through snow in 10F. I am normally a size 8.5-9 and bought a 9 W. They are plenty big even with a super thick sock, but not uncomfortably big. There isn't much arch support, so I plan on adding an insert. My husband is now eyeing a pair to buy as well after seeing mine!

These boots are incredibly well-made and substantial, yet not overly heavy; they're a pleasure to walk in, and despite their heartiness they also feel mysteriously soft and supportive. I am typically a 7.5 in shoes, just a touch wide of foot; I ordered the 8 wide and I think I am going to have to go down to a 7 wide. Either pair will work easily for my low-key orthotic inserts, though the boot itself is fairly supportive in the arch. The 8 will work with thick socks and I may end up keeping them, but it's worth the trouble of reordering to get this one perfect if possible, because the boots look like they could last for ten years of hard wear or more. The seal is watertight, the shaft is strong without hurting me or feeling too rigid, the leather is rugged yet sumptuous, and the shearling is soft and warm (I need the warmth but synthetics make my feet overheat). I'm at the point where I'd rather spend $249 for something of quality that won't go into a landfill after a year or two. Recommend one hundred percent! Did I mention they look charming with anything? A perennial classic? Yes and yes. Worth every penny.

I had gotten my wife a robe fir Christmas (she would honestly wear it 24/7, if she could), so I figured she might like Bean boots, as well...boy, was that a good call. She raves about the boots: warm, keeps feet dry, don't slip, etc. Another home run for LL Bean.

It bought these at the outlet store, when on vacation. I tried them on and purchased mid summer. I thought they would break in some but mistaken. Stiff and tongue does not lay properly flat to allow ankle to flex. Also the laces are so horribly stiff and unable to be tied appropriately and stay tied. Even put mink oil on laces to try to soften. A real pain to get off due to eyelet holes and no hooks, like other boots. No speed dressing or undressing feet for sure. Outside sole will not flex so tread is not gripping in snow. Inside lining is heavenly and warm.

I decided to return these boots because in the description it states these are "chain-tread outsole gives reliable traction" and "Best for rain, slush, snow". These are the worst boots for slush and snow with absolutely no traction whatsoever! I woke up this morning and decided I just can't pay $250.00 dollars for a pair of rain boots. I've been looking at these boots for several years and finally decided to take the plunge, I'm so disappointed.

I finally found the boots Ive been looking for for so long. Though they are very pricey., they are well made and hopefully, should be worth the investment. I wore them on a recent trip to the mountains in the PNW where there was lots of snow and they performed well. Theyre a little big, purchased an 8 wide and normally wear a 7 wide in LL Bean boots but wanted extra room for when I need to wear heavier wool socks. The insole that came with the boots doesnt have a good arch support so I replaced them with my normal Superfeet insoles and theyre much more comfortable. So far, Im very happy with these boots. I wish more shoes and boots came in a wide width.

Comfortable foot bed and appears to be warm. However, the toe area is too flat for me (not enough height in the toe area) so there's not enough room to keep my toes warm. Warmth for ice fishing, etc. is what I was looking for which a longer length would not fix the problem so I had to return.

I bought these as a gift for my wife and she loves them. Built quality is excellent she finds them comfortable and warm. She is typically a size 6.5 and I ordered her size 5 per the sizing guidelines. We ended up exchanging for a size 6 boot. I love supporting made in usa products.

Nice boot but it's very slippery on snow or ice. I'm hoping it'll get better over time. Wish it had more of a bulby bubly kind of rubber nonslip sole. I had a pair of boots that were from Canada I wore forever in Alaska on the snow and ice, and you couldn't get them to slip, they were great! These are very nice however for fit with a little extra room for socks at the end of my toes.

This is a wonderful boot for cold wet weather. I went with an 8 Wide due to a bunion and hammer toe problem on my right foot. The hammer toe does touch the upper part of the toe box but it's tolerable. With enough wear, and the right socks it will conform to the boot. I normally wear an 8-81/2 Wide shoe. I'm very happy to have something to wear to walk my delightful Alaskan Husky mix, in the snow!
