I was looking for boots that would replace the ones I've had to buy on an annual basis - cheaper isn't always better. So I decided to ask for these for Christmas. I've not been disappointed. The warmth from the sheep's shearling is so incredibly warm and extremely helpful to have in the subzero temps. The outer lower section is durable, waterproof and gives me peace of mind when walking through thick snow or walking on ice. These boots are a great investment in something completely worth their money in durability, reliability and warmth.
Plus: customer services is A++++

I bought these because I am constantly outside in mud, snow, wind and cold rain. Thanks to Bean's satisfaction guarantee, I got them in exchange for the Gortex - lined Bean boots which were very stiff. I thought I would need to break these in, but the tumbled leather was so flexible, I was comfortable from the start. The boots are very warm and sturdy, but you can still run in them or climb a hill. The bottom part is waterprooof. The shearling is not on the footbed, but you can wear Bean sox to cover. These are a good investment.

LOVE these boots. The tumbled leather is definitely worth the extra $$. So soft and comfy. Great insulation and warmth. I've tested the waterproof claim and I can say it's true. The boots kept my feet dry. The best part is the soles are soft and have kept me from slipping on icy days. Like snow tires for your feet! If you live in a land of snow and ice...Buy. These. Boots.

I was delighted to receive my bean boots last week! Being the impatient gal I am I chose to get the only pair available before Christmas- the Shearling lined ones! I took reviewer's advice on sizing down even though it made me really nervous... I wear size 11 and haven't worn a 10 in over 10 years. I'm glad I did! Plenty of room for socks of all sizes without being too roomy. The fur only extends the length of the leather, which is nice. The quality is superb and the leather is wonderful. The only problem I have with them is personal- they're too warm for my climate most weeks! Obviously this is my fault but if you're in the South I'd recommend the thinsulate options if you're looking for warmth and several months of wear! They're incredible snow boots though!

I got these late last Winter and I'm so happy with them I just had to write a review. I've had many Bean Boots and many other brands of work boots over the last 50 plus years but these surpass them all. They are so comfortable I often wear them when regular shoes would do but I want that cushy shearling feel.
The tumbled leather adds a lot of comfort. I actually wear them around the house almost like slippers on damp and drafty days. Until I tried these I never noticed the traditional leather is a bit stiff and can rub your ankles and your shins at the tops. The shearling is very soft and durable, and I've worn these a lot here in our cold and wet Kentucky weather so I feel confident in saying that. I did order the shearling footbed liners, which do not come with the boots and I would recommend you add them when you order. I usually wear a medium width but I ordered the wide to accommodate heavy socks and give myself lots of toe room. But they run true to size so don't feel you must order up unless you plan to wear heavy socks-and wear them inside like slippers too.

These boots are great. There's a little extra room which is nice for if I want to wear thick socks. They aren't clunky at all. Love them.

Our entire family now has a new pair of Bean boots. Two with shearling and two with thinsulate. My youngest daughter (14) didn't think she wanted a pair until we went to a college football game and she "borrowed" mine for the frigid weather. Needless to say, she fell in love with them! So, these are my new Bean boots because she has now taken mine! Gotta love teenagers! We all love our new boots and wear them constantly - inside and out. They are a great investment. I only wish that LL Bean would consider branding them with monograms so we don't constantly get them mixed up. Please consider this LL Bean. Great product!

I ordered these boots in a size 9 ( i am usually a 9.5-10) they fit perfectly! So comfortable that I was able to go for a 3 mile walk right after getting them out of the box. The leather is so smooth! They were supposed to be on back order and came early. Don't hesitate, just buy them, so worth the money.

I moved to New York last Christmas, and had no winter boots for when the chill came. So I started hunting for boots in September because I didn't want to be left in the cold again (...Polar Vortex, anyone?!).
I struggled with choosing between these and the Goretex, but chose Shearling because of the warmth factor and these were delightfully warm. They are still waterproof to some extent, but not as watertight as the Goretex boots, but if like me your feet are always cold, it may be worth considering Shearling, especially if you don't routinely schlep through piles of snow (the paths where I live are usually quite well salted/cleared).
Anyway I wear a size 8 (if the shoe runs particularly small, sometimes an 8.5) and chose to get the 7W/D as I found the 8B too big, and the 7B a little too snug. 7W is great, and I guess could be described as a 7.5. Pair them with the Cresta Heavyweight sock (Men's - because there aren't any in the ladies sock department) and I'm good to go!

I purchased these boots for my daughter who is away at college. She just loves them and said that they are fantastic! She is a tough customer when it comes to boots, so if she likes them, that is enough to convince me. Great product!!!!

I cannot recommend these boots highly enough. Super soft, supportive, comfortable, lightweight, yet sturdy. Great fit - you can tell the craftsmanship. Don't hesitate to buy these - I have been going back and forth over making such an investment and am totally happy I did. American made! Not a cheap boot by any means - totally worth it. Great shipping (LLBean quoted 2-4 weeks, they were here within 13 days of leaving warehouse).

I moved to the east coast 8 years ago, after growing up in the Pacific Northwest, but never actually invested in "real" winter footwear... I've since lost a lot of leather boots to salt damage and went through a few pairs of wellies after cracking, and usually my feet were cold/wet at the end of the day. Not good. After moving to a more rural/woodsy (SNOWY) location and experiencing last years polar vortex, I knew I had to finally upgrade this year. I'm so glad I did, these boots are beautiful/perfect/comfortable and WARM. Warmth was the key reason why I went with the shearling vs. the normal boots, and am so glad I did. Already they are more comfortable than any boot I have owned. These don't just keep my feet "not icicles", but feel toasty and warm, and like cozy sheepskin pillows. Except, with a rugged and practical exterior. Easy to walk in, the leather is beautiful, construction is solid. Very impressed.
Obviously I haven't experienced these in the snow/ice yet, but based on all the reviews I'm sure they'll hold up wonderfully. It's already pretty cold here, and the boots are already doing their part to improve my winter experience.
In terms of size, I usually wear a 9, have relatively narrow feet, and I got the 9. They are a little long, but feel pretty good in terms of width; I'll mostly be wearing them with thick socks anyway. I also might invest in some of the sheepskin inserts, as it seems like those might help fill some of the extra space.

I love these boots! They are warm and comfortable. Just a note, the shearling stops at the ankle, it does not extend to the footbed. I wear a 9.5 or 10, and based on other reviews first ordered a 9, but my toes touched the end and it wasn't enough room for a big sock, I exchanged for the 10 and they're perfect, not too big.

They are a great fit! I originally bought a size 10 but learned that half sizes go down. It was quick and easy to exchange. The boots are comfortable and insulated and warm with good arch support. The shearling is unobtrusive and good quality. I definitely won't have to worry during the winter! It's definitely a good value for the price and don't forget there's a lifetime guarantee.

I returned the 7W for an 8W, I had heard they run big, but for me the true to size was best. I returned them. The boots left Maine on Monday and I picked them up on Wednesday at the post office. Real good return service. I live in SE Ohio. I believe I will be wearing these boots everyday here. I do a lot of outside work and have a greenhouse that I'm in every day. I will not have to worry about my feet getting wet or cold now. I would say order these boots if you are on the fence about them, you won't be sorry. I've been wearing my last bean boots for the last 25 years and they are still in good condition. Also there is no breaking in on these boots, feel good the moment you put them on. And I think they will look great with my below the knee jean skirts. Thanks llbean for another wonderful boot! I think they run true to size, not small, I couldn't get the size chart to move to where I wanted it.

These boots are amazing. I am normally a 9.5/10 and I got a 9 - they fit perfectly with plenty of room but thick socks. They are not too wide at the toes like a pair of Sorel's I tried on. The leather is soft and and the laces tie up nicely. The real shearling is so warm and perfect for cold winters.

I work at a stable/pet kennel in all kinds of weather all year. I ordered the boots and the sheepskin lining because another worker had them and was very happy with the quality and warmth and ease of cleaning. I hope to have the same good luck so far so good.

Hi,
I bought these boots for my daughter who is a college student. I was not sure if I should buy the regular bean boots, or the ones with the shearling lining. My daughter loves these boots, and is very happy with the shearling lining. Very warm, cozy, and great for several seasons. I would recommend these boots, for someone looking for a versatile item, that will not go out of style, and will provide many years of outdoor adventures.

So after too many years of buying cheap boots that not only didn't keep feet warm or dry but also wore out and fell apart, I decided it was time to buy some real boots. I read a bunch of reviews and finally chose to get a pair of these shearling lined kicks for my wife. Not totally sure on what size to get her, size 7reg and 8reg were on back order so I went with a size 7wide. She normally wears a 7.5-8 depending on manufacturer. The 7wides arrived and she was super thrilled, early Christmas gift and all ;-) and she popped em on and they fit brilliantly. Now I am very jealous of her sweet Beans and really want a pair of my own... I just can't decide if I want a shearling lined pair or just a regular unlined pair to wear fat socks in. I'm a sucker for shearling though, and for good reason. These are excellent boots.
