Hats off to LL Bean for making what I think is a perfect boot, at least for me. We are in the process of moving from a warm climate to Denver, so of course I don't have suitable footwear for winter weather. This is the second of three pairs of LL bean boots I bought from them with in the past few days, and I am so pleased I bought this pair. The fit is perfect, and the style is pleasant for the city. Of course the proof will come in the weather when the sidewalks are covered in snow, ice, and slush.

Let me start by saying I have extremely difficult feet. I wear hefty orthotics and have wide feet so finding shoes to begin with is an absolute pain. Then I guess because my weight is distributed wrong, they wear out unbelievably fast. My Uggs and Sorels barely made it through a full winter each. These boots were the exact opposite though! They fit right out of the box following the size guide, which almost never happens. They were warm and soft and actually are in good shape after wearing them every single day (walking min 3km in them) for a Canadian winter. I can't recommend these enough.

I'm very excited about my new boots. I did struggle on what size to order and ended up ordering a full size smaller than my regular size. They are a perfect fit and I'll wear them with thin socks. I'm very relieved they fit since it takes months for Bean to fulfill the order.

Great boots. First set was ordered based on my known shoe size, bad choice for these boots. Second try I followed the instruction from LL Bean, perfect fit. Long wait on this style so order early.

Recieved this item in early summer so not sure how warm they will be in winter. Have another pair similar with thinsulate lining. This pair laces differently and it seems the laces are shorter for length of boot. These are easier to get in and out than the thinsulate pair from LL Bean. Will probably keep these as they are comfortable walking around the house with boot socks on.

The boots are very warm and comfortable. I love it. Also, I bought another ones for my mom and she really appreciated that the boots kept her feet warm. Thanks LL Bean.

So worth the 4 month wait!! I just got them this June & can't wait to wear them out this winter! Reading the reviews I did order a size 7 (I'm a true 7.5). And they fit great! Do to the fact I will be wearing thin socks with them because they are shearling lined. I just love the shearling, very soft and warm. It's a very well made boot & I'm very happy with this purchase!

I had a pair of Bean's boots I originally received in 1970. Wore them down to a nub. Last Fall, I decided to invest in a new pair. I usually wear a women's size 9-9 1/2, narrow to medium width...depending on the manufacturer. My first order I ordered a Bean's woman's size 9. Way too large. Sent them back and requested a size 8. Uh oh. Six month wait. Oh well. Fashion magazines are reporting that Bean's boots are now considered "in style" and very popular. (Funny. I never thought they were out of style.) Hence, the long order time. Received replacement pair last week. They're perfect! I live in Chicago where it's very cold and snowy. I probably won't wait for winter to wear them. Thanks LL Bean!

I was on a 4 month wait list for these boots and just received them. I couldn't be happier. My normal shoe size is a 7 1/2, I ordered these boots in a 7 and the fit is perfect. They are very comfortable.

Love these. Classic, cozy, and not as heavy or clunky as anticipated. Sizing note: As recommended by countless reviewers and in-store associates, I sized down. This was an error. I'm typically a 7.5 or 8 and I ended up needing the 8 the 7 was too snug, even for my narrow foot. This may be due to the shearling lining, but I found the sizing to be true. Fab purchase.

When they told me they were on back order until May (!), I almost didn't order! But then, last week, my LL Bean boots arrived! Those guys up there in Maine are really working hard to get these items into our hands, and I for one appreciate it! I've worn them a couple of times, love the fit (they come in WIDE!!), and I can't wait until Friday when they are predicting more snow for us! They are attractive, warm, comfortable, and so well made - they may end up being an "heirloom" to hand down to my daughter!!

My daughter decided that she had to have these boots for Christmas because everyone at college had them. I ordered them on Nov. 20th and were told they would arrive by Feb. 24th. They became a belated birthday gift. She loves them. I got her the ones with the fleece and she says they can be a little to warm when she is inside, but at least she won't be cold outside. She wears a 6 1/2 shoe and got a 6 boot.

After a long wait time (backordered plus a couple extra weeks), my boots arrived. Yay! There was still enough winter left for me to get good use out of them, and with NJ weather being what it is, I will probably get a few more weeks this season. My main concern before getting the boots was that they'd be too big. I wear a size 11, and find many shoes simply uncomfortable. I tried on my daughter's size 10 Thinsulate lined Bean boots, and they were OK, but I probably would feel the pinch after a few hours. Nevertheless, I thought these would be huge. Also, they aren't shearling lined on the bottom, so I ordered the shearling footbed liners for anticipated extra warmth. Well, with the liners, the boots are excellent. Note: they are excellent without the liners, but I didn't want to wear heavy socks. With the liners, I don't have to wear socks at all, and my feet are warm and dry. I've been trudging through snow and over ice, and have had nary a problem. No leaks, no cold toes, no slipping. So happy to have these. My one teeny gripe is that they are just a tad wide - both around the foot, and around the ankle. (My daughter's boots are smoother around the ankle, and she looks neat and tidy when she wears hers.) I don't really mind, but I do feel bulky sometimes. Overall, I love these boots and am thrilled that I have them. I am even trying to get my boyfriend to order a matching pair for himself.

Boots are warm and extremely comfortable - well worth the wait and the price. I normally wear a size 9.5 or 10. Based on other reviews, I ordered a 9W and they fit perfectly. I almost hate to take them off!

I waited 3x months on back-order - totally worth it! Comfortable from the first wear, and now I don't have to worry about what Mother Nature throws at me. I wear a 7.5 usually - ordered a 7 reg. - as advised because I don't intend to wear incredibly thick socks - perfect fit. Couldn't be happier!

These are the best boots I have ever purchased: warm, comfortable, good tread, and beautifully constructed. They run large, and since I have feet on the wide side, I bought the 8 wide, even though I normally wear a 9 or 9.5 shoe. They fit perfectly -- like they were custom-made for my feet. The extra width gives my toes wiggle room, and the length is fine, which surprised me (I expected my toes would touch the end of the boot, but they don't). Last week's snow fall gave me the perfect opportunity to try them out, and they passed with flying colors. I do not anticipate ever having cold feet in the winter again. Indulge yourself; you will not regret this purchase!

I love the boots, however, I wish I would have ordered the smaller size. I wear a 9 in all other shoes/boots and ordered the 9 in the bean boots. I wish I would have ordered the 8. The boots are beautifully made and worth the back order wait.

BEST BOOTS EVER!---No wonder it takes months to get these quality boots!. We are still on waiting list for other 2 pairs 10" sherling lined, but fell upon these 8" sherling lined in the LLBean store by PURE LUCK! They happen to be my size,10M ---I have been trying to decide for months about the sizing because of all the reviews. I am a solid 11N. The 10M fit perfect w the smart midnight socks and the sherling liners. (MY heel still moved around a bit, but only because I have a very narrow heel. I just add a second pair socks and they are GREAT fit!! They are soo WARM! (my feet are ALWAYS COLD!)...and these are AWESOME!!. There is no "break-in" period, they are soft quality leather, supportive, comfortable from the first time you slip your feet in them. So easy to slip on and off. (The boot pull tabs is an added useful bonus)-My feet "glide" in and out! I am soo thrilled w them!! The boot sole is also great and non slip, for ice I purchased the Stabi-icers and they are awesome as well!.works well, and they fit perfect on & off w ease! ..Unfortunately my college daughter (in New England shoulder deep snow) is still on waiting list for hers to arrive, but not till May 20! :( Hoping after her long wait they fit as wonderful as mine do!. Just a few Pointers: Yes, Size down just as they recommend, wear the llbean midweight socks, and definitely get the sherling liners IF you tend to get cold toes like me. If not, they are not necessary, w a good sock! They are worth every penny! Now if LLbean and can try to make them to keep up w demand! Definitely sold on these for life!

I'm in love with these boots. I waited about a month to write this review, just to make sure they're as great as my first impression took them to be, and oh my word, they are. They're quite warm (and I say that as someone who has perpetually cold feet), they're supportive, and the waterproof claims seem to be true. I just shoveled two feet of snow off of my driveway in these (took about an hour), and my feet were toasty warm and dry with just these boots and a pair of thin cotton socks. Unbelievable. My one and only caveat is that my love for these boots is contingent on using them with the LL Bean shearling inserts. The shearling lining only covers the ankle inside the boot - it does not go down into the foot bed. Without the inserts the boots are fine, but with them, they're winter boot nirvana. As far as fit goes, I wear a 9 pretty consistently (closer to 8.5 than 9.5), and my foot is medium to narrow width. I bought these in a 9 - with the shearling inserts, the fit is perfect; without them, it's quite loose. If your foot is on the wider side and you plan to wear inserts + thick socks, I'd highly recommend sizing up. I've found that I don't really need thick winter socks with these unless I plan to be outside for a long time in single-digit temperatures. The longest walk I've taken in these is about four miles, and my feet felt warm and comfortable the entire time. I've waded through deep snow in them, and I've never had snow sneak in by the laces. They're also really easy to wipe clean. These boots are currently on trend, which is a bonus, but they're also the most practical, functional, warm, toasty, all-purpose pair of winter boots I've ever owned in my life. If you're on the fence, just buy them, and spring for the shearling inserts too. My feet seriously do not get cold in these, and guys, that's practically a miracle.

This is my first-ever product review even though L.L. Bean products fill out 80% of our closets. Upstate NY just got slammed with more than a foot of snow since last night. I spent two hours shoveling in the condition of about 10 degree and blowing wind. Not once my feet were cold nor wet even when they were deep in snow. Thanks to the protection of these boots. They really worth the price tag!

I tried ordering these for Christmas last year but was too late, so I put off my boot purchase until late fall 2014. I am glad I waited. These boots meet all my expectations. I usually wear a size 8 regular but I ordered these in 8 wide as I've found toes need wiggle-room to stay warm. The fit is good and the arch support prevents foot fatigue when walking distances. The softer leather does not require a break-in period. The shearling lining on the tongue allows me to lace the boots loose or snug, right to the top without rubbing the skin off my shinseven with shorter socks. I spent 6 hours on ice in below zero temps and my feet stayed toasty warm. Great purchase!
