This boot is fantastic. Living in New England, these are a must have. I initially tried on the unlined boot but I spotted these on the shelf and once they were on my feet it was a done deal. Perfect fit, so warm, your feet are bone dry. We just had a major rainstorm where I trudged through massive puddles at the commuter rail station and then walking through the streets of Boston to my office. It was almost a pleasure! Don't hesitate, just buy them!

These boots are warm and comfortable. I love them! I am a 9.5 and ordered both the 8 and the 9 based on the sizing advice. I kept the 9s. They have a little bit of extra room and I like them that way--easy to slide on an off. The shearling lining is so wonderful and soft. Like I said these boots keep my feet warm and I am in love.

I love the boots but they run about a 1/2 size too big. I wear a size 10, so I ordered a 10 but they were a 1/2 size to big. If you plan on wearing thick socks they will probably be just fine! They are very cute and comfortable! Definitely worth it!

I love my boots. I wear them 4-5 times a week. They keep me warm in the rain and cold weather. They are comfy to walk in and have given me no problems from rubbing my feet the wrong way.

I got these boots a couple of years ago. I normally wear a size 9 1/2 and ended up with these in a size 9. I wear them all the time that I'm not working as soon as the weather starts to cool down in the fall until it starts to warm up in the spring. Two years in they still look like new. With the tumbled leather there is no break in time. Quality is great. My feet do get a bit cold on the bottom when walking on the ice or snow. Wish they came with the shearling insoles. I'll probably add them at some point but haven't yet.

I'm typically a 7.5-8 in shoes and I ordered a size 7 as recommended and very happy that I did. The boots run large and with sizing down I can still wear a midweight winter sock and still be comfortable. The construction is beautiful and I see these lasting through quite a few Chicago winters.

These boots feel like you're walking on clouds! They are super light but provide so much warmth. I typically wear an 8 1/2 so I ordered a 9 as suggested, but they were too big. I wore the 9 for several years, gave them away to someone with a bigger foot than me (they are still in FANTASTIC shape) and just recently replaced them with a new, smaller, better fitting pair!

I bought these boots in 2015 and I still Love them. I moved to New England from the south, so I was obviously unprepared for the winter. My first two years I had unlined regular bean boots in black. They were fine, feet were dry, which is huge, but they were often cold. Then I bought these boots after a series of snow storms. I absolutely love them! I've since moved to the mid Atlantic region where snow still happens but it is less of an issue. I used them a couple of times last winter and can't wait to pull them out of storage for this year. I would highly recommend them if you are planning on walking in snow or slush. They work fine in rain but I wouldn't spend an extended time in heavy rain with these boots, I would say the upper leather is water resistant but not waterproof. If your going to be indoors you may want a backup pair of shoes. I would wear these to the office but after a couple of hours your feet start to sweat, so I would bring flats to change into after you're out of the snow. Overall they are great boots!

Seriously, these are the best Bean Boots that have ever been produced. I would gladly buy more if other color options were available!

I needed a good pair of rain boots, living in Massachusetts. I always wanted to purchase a pair of LL Bean boots and finally decided to pull the trigger. I have yet to use them, but am confident that they will be up to par when the need comes.

Very warm and wonderfully comfortable :D And a work of great quality craftsmanship. It is good to see such care being put into their creation. Definitely worth the price.

These boots are wicked amazing! I wanted some comfy-cozy boots that are both warm and cozy. Like UGG brand boot cozy, but way more durable and doesn't stain from a single drop from my Dunkin Donuts Iced Coffee. The price doesn't matter! Ask your mom, dad, brother, sister, boss, coworker, neighbor, grandma, your arch friend-nemesis for gift cards and just invest them all into these boots. I know I sure did and I have no regrets! Even though I got them in December, I have worn them almost every day, since I found out that they have stopped with the life time warranty and im pretty sure they look in fact cleaner and newer looking. BUY THEMMMM....

Since I live up on a hill in a snow belt, I need boots that can handle the heavy snow and mud. Immediately, I thought of these boots because they are handcrafted right there in Maine and are often sold out. That told me they must be really good. With the added shearling lining, I find that these are quite warm and cozy in the snow and super frigid temps. Plus, for me, they fit true to my size and were immediately comfortable right out of the box. However, since I need extra arch support, I will probably buy special arch support insoles for them. In short, I believe they are well-made and worth every penny I spent on them. When these wear out, I will get them again.

We had unusually cold weather in the South and I went looking for a warm snow boot that I could also use to take the dogs out in the winter in the rain, etc. I ordered a 10W which is what I wear in a walking shoe. I have very sensitive feet so I am picky about shoes/boots. These are the most comfortable boots or shoes I've every owned. The thinsulate makes the rubber foot area smooth and comfortable and the shearling is luxurious. The tumbled leather is incredibly soft. I can wear a light sock with them now but could switch to a heavier sock over time if the thinsulate or shearling compresses or the weather is really cold. I didn't get to wear these outside in the snow or cold for an extended time period so I can't comment on how warm they are in those conditions. However, for cold/cool weather here they've been perfect. I've considered ordering a second pair to make sure I always have these but Bean boots are supposed to last so I'll try to resist. I would be very interested on advice on how to store them over the summer if someone has tips. The temperature changed from the teens to over 70 degrees here in a matter of weeks.

Very comfortable and so warm. I love my new boots. I wear my L.L.Bean "boot socks" with them and my toes never get cold. It's real easy to be an "outsider" when you're warm.

These boots are incredible. I think my feet might never be cold again (which is saying something because my feet are always cold). I was worried about the fact that the shearling is not on the bottom or in the boot but they are thermally lined which is plenty warm and better than the shearling because it doesn't pack out. They are great quality but run big. I usually wear a 7.5/8 and I got a 7 which fits perfectly. Oh - and I had to wait b/c they were backordered. Let me just say - worth the wait!!!

Have grown up living in Bean Boots and got the sherling-lined ones this time to make them my winter boots. So comfortable and much more lightweight than other bulkier winter boots.

I've gotten through most of a winter in these boots and so thought I would share my experiences with them. 1) Size: I measure as a size 7B (slightly on the wider side) in medium socks, but wanted to wear heavier socks with them and also to use Superfeet Merino inserts, which have a pretty big arch and take up a fair amount of room in the shoes. Because I felt like another pair of LL Bean boots ran narrow, I chose the 8W. Those have worked great for me. 2) Warmth: I've worn LL Bean boot socks or Cresta midweight socks with these all winter and do not feel they ever have been too hot. I also have walked for miles in the boots, in zero degree weather, and my feet never have once gotten cold in them. That is sort of a miracle. It may be, though, that the Superfeet Merino inserts have a lot to do with that. The insoles that I removed seemed like they would have allowed cold from the ground to travel up to my feet. So although the Superfeet were expensive, I think they would have been a good investment even if my feet did not require them for comfort/pain reasons. 3) Traction and Waterproofness: I very frequently went for long walks on snowy and icy paths or through the brush this winter. Even though the snow has been fairly deep, my socks have never gotten wet. I do usually bring hiking poles when I am out walking, but even without the poles, I feel like the traction has been pretty good. 4) Fit: Although I think these run a little narrow, they have been really comfortable for me. By far the most comfortable winter boots I have ever owned. 5) Appearance and Leather: These are absolutely gorgeous boots, and the leather was very soft and comfortable right out of the box. "Baseball glove" is a good way to describe it. Although I have worn them every day and walked for a few miles in the snow or rain per day in them, they are showing no wear whatsoever (except that they feel more comfortable than when I got them because they have molded to my feet). I think they should keep looking new for years, at this rate. I wouldn't mind LL Bean having more of a color selection for these shearling boots, and would likely buy another pair if the right color were offered with removable insoles, but these have worked great for me. 6) Height: 8" is very practical and easy to get on and off, and so that is appealing. 10" might be better, but I'm not sure. And I'd like to buy a pair that was more like 12", as taller boots, but with removable insoles. Maybe someday LL Bean will offer that. Anyway, A+ purchase across the board. I couldn't be happier. One of my favorite apparel purchases of all time. Thanks!

Can not say it enough, I LOVE these boots!! So warm, so comfortable, fit great! The only thing that bothers me is that the tongue on the left boot seems to shift to the left side of the boot, but it's an easy thing to just untie your boot and fix it. Other than that, there is not a single flaw for these!! Highly recommend!

Very comfortable, waterproof, and WARM. The boots I purchased are shearling-lined and I find them to be very warm. We had a 17 inch snowfall last week which gave me a chance to wear the boots. I was very happy with them. My feet never got wet and stayed very warm. There were also good on the icy walkways. I highly recommend them.

I ordered these mid December and what a good idea-- They've kept me warm through the -20 weather and have the grip necessary to get chores done on the farm-- I've yet to slip in them despite all of the snow and ice! A huge upgrade over the old pair of unlined bean boots I've had for years and worth every penny.

Best boots EVER!! So much warmer than my Sorels. This particular boot has shearling in the entire boot, not just the upper. With all that shearling, it does run a bit smaller. I normally wear a 9.5. My unlined Bean Boots are a 9 (albeit 25 years old...not sure if sizing has changed at all). I was able to go to the LLB store to try on the boots- 9 was too snug with the fleece, 10 was perfect! I spent all afternoon in 10 degree weather, with toasty toes the entire time!
