I love the colors in this shirt, and it's quite comfortable. I would normally buy a size L, but I bought size M based on other reviews saying it ran big, and should have bought a size S. But that's OK; I'll wear it as a shirt-jacket. My main complaint about the shirt is that it doesn't fit my perception of what a chamois shirt is. The fabric is much thinner and seems less tightly woven than the chamois shirts I've bought in the past. Of all companies, LL Bean should not be lowering the quality of a traditional item like this. They should be upholding quality standards to maintain the respect their brand has earned over many years.

The sleeve ripped in the wash and the fabric isn't as sturdy as the last two that I have. It's more like a soft flannel

Look at the pictures, this shirt runs down to the thigh. I had trouble tucking a medium regular into my pants, there was so much material. Great look (dark evergreen) and super warm and comfortable, but that tail length is seriously bad. I could never wear this untucked.

My husband usually wears a size XL in most brands. I purchased and XL in this shirt and it was ridiculously huge on him. We ended up giving it to his dad who usually wears an XXL and it was still a little too big for him. It's really a soft and warm shirt, but beware of sizing.

I'm not slender by any means, but this thing was enormous - i could fit 2 of me in it (usually an L). The material feels super soft though. Will exchange for M long and see how it goes.

Fabric seemed OK, but not as heavy as I expected. Ordered a medium tall but what I received was more like a large tall. This was the second shirt in the order and the other one was miss sized also.

Super comfy nice and warm but burned holes through elbows in short order. I tend to lean on them when reading things on the computer but this is the only shirt to do this.

I typically wear a medium in most things. I'm what you would probably call an "athletic" fit (though I'm not particularly athletic). I ordered a medium and it is HUGE, like at least XL size. I'm sending it back to get a small, but based off how big the medium is, I don't know that a small will fit any better.

If you wear this shirt you won't need a jacket if the temperature is above 35 degrees. It is uncomfortable but looks good. However, it is too heavy for me.

Love the shirt! Bought for a gift for person who wears X-Large. He said it fit more like a 2X. Love the shirt, good quality and very soft - so will be returning to get a smaller size - hope it works!!

I had one of these and wore it for 20 some years until the elbows finally wore out. So, I ordered another. It makes a great outerwear item for temps into the 40's. This shirt was perfect, except for the length. It was fully 6" too long. Luckily, a local seamstress cut off the excess length and re-hemmed it for $10, so I was able to salvage a great shirt. May have been able to exchange for a regular vs the tall, but I generally need tall for my 36" sleeve length.

The shirt was very long, so long it looked awkward so I returned it.

I purchased one of the solid color chamois shirts, fit perfectly all around, quite comfortable. So I purchased another chamois shirt, this time in a nice fall plaid (cinnamon). This shirt appears to be the same quality, is comfortable and fits well except - IT'S ABOUT 4 INCHES LONGER! Did something change in the 2 weeks between purchases? Why is this shirt so long? Does LL Bean utilize any sort of quality control?

I purchased this shirt because of the color and because I can no longer get flannel shirts where I used to. I would call this flannel medium weight a best and you better be carful what you brush against because it is a snag magnet. Its a nice looking shirt and for me, a big guy, the fit was as expected. If you like the fitted look, then this is not the shirt for you as it is a relaxed fit. I guess I just expected more for the price and I found it on par with flannel shirts I've purchased elsewhere for less than half the price made in the same overseas country.

We have purchased many LLBean flannel and chamois shirts and have never had this problem before. The length is mid-way to the knees. Returning.

Bought this shirt in early 2018. I've worn it during the cold months. Pulled it out this year as the temperature started to drop and noticed the right sleeve has a hole in it at the elbow. I expected that the shirt would last longer. I'm quite disappointed in the quality as, while it is a warm shirt, it didn't last very long.

After a couple years of light use, this shirt has worn through on the right elbow. Too bad. I wouldn't expect a $60 shirt to wear through so quickly. I like the fit of Llbean's x-large tall shirts, no complaints about any other style shirts I've bought. I'll ask the wife to try to put some elbow patches on this shirt so I can get some more use out of it.

This shirt is not up to your standards. I think if you pay $54 for a shirt, the plaids should match up at the seams. It is very obvious when it is being worn. Poor quality!

I have quite a few Bean flannel and chamois shirts, all tall. This shirt is at least 6" longer than any of mine, and large across the chest, too.

I usually wear a M... Preferably slim fit. I was swimming in this shirt.
Quality seemed really nice, but had to return it.

The shirt is nice but I am still waiting for L.L.Bean to eliminate the annoying tag in the back of the neck. I'm tired of needing the seam ripper on every L.L.Bean shirt. I've complained of this many times. Pricy shirt like this should have a printed tag, not a sewn-in one. Or sew it in the side seam.

I have purchased chamois shirts from Bean for years. Sadly, these are just flannel shirts today, and not the heavyweight that Chamois used to be. Don't get me wrong, they are nice flannel anyway..... Also, size runs larger than they used to.... at least the 2 I received. Sadly, I had already washed them assuming they would fit. Not a bad shirt, but not what they used to be.

Bought a medium tall and it was a great fit in the sleeves but in the torso, it hung down to my knees, way to long. Nice fabric and loved the colors but fit was not good.

I have used Chamois rags to clean my car, They are silky soft. I expected this shirt to be as soft. It is not. It is similar to any other flannel I own. I expected a casual shirt that I could wear to church or going out to eat. It is more of a shirt I would wear to do yard work ,as it is very heavy ,Too heavy to tuck in. It is not a bad shirt, but not what I expected. I could almost wear it as a jacket on a cool 50F day. LL Beane should list this shirt as a "heavy wear and tear" shirt.
