This was the second time I purchased one of these blankets. This year I was disappointed in the color selection. I preferred the moss green color. Also, this time the blanket seems lighter in weight and of lesser quality.

Pricey in relation to quality. Thin to the point of cheesy. Sheds before and after washing; fills the dryer lint trap. If you're looking for a cheapie throw, you'll find something similar at any number of retailers for less money (or for what this throw is truly worth). Attractive color though and the dog gives it five stars.

It's comfy, all right. But never has a blanket/throw shed more lint. So, so much lint.

I have washed and dried the throw twice and it sheds badly. The loose fuzz does not come off in the dryer. I cannot use it because of the mess. Beautiful color throw.

While it feels soft and is warm the material shedding is terrible! - so disappointing!!

The plush throw is a beautiful color and very warm and soft, but it sheds on everything!! Have washed it several times and dried it with wool balls per L.L. Bean customer service, and it is still shedding on our furniture, our clothes, our robes, etc. First time I've ever had an issue with throws from this company. Don't give them as gifts or your recipients will probably not be happy with the constant shedding. According to a rep at L.L. Bean, they have a new manufacturer of these throws. The burning question now is will there be anything left to the throw after it stops shedding?? Fortunately, L. L. Bean has a very generous 1 year return policy. They may be getting my two new throws back.

The throw is soft and warm, but it sheds profusely. Washed it once and it filled up the dryer lint filter completely. We thought that was the end of the shedding, but it continued to leave fuzz everywhere. Sorry, LL Bean, it's being returned for credit.

The blanket is definitely soft but it does not hold up to normal wear and tear like they used to. My dog had one of these blankets for at least 7 years (honestly we had it for so long that I can't remember) and it was his favorite. I finally had to throw it away this year after it got thin from so many washes and torn from his nesting. Since then I have bought three more and they have all ripped within the first week of use. The quality has really declined. Not sure what is going on with LL Bean but it's not good.

This is the second one I bought because I loved the feel of the first one. This one was far inferior.

Quite cheap. I washed them once and they were covered with pilling. All three of them.

Blanket is wicked plushy and warm - problem is, the plush is all over the house. I have washed the blanket 3 times to get the plushy threads and little balls off and the blanket is still shedding everywhere. This is the first item I've bought from LLBean that I was dissatisfied with, and I've been buying from them for 30 years. If this blanket didn't shed, it would be GREAT.

I was looking forward to receiving this throw. It's a nice heavy weight and very warm BUT it's shedding like crazy!!! It's driving me crazy....I have never owned a throw that sheds like this!!! Please llbean don't sell this item...it's not the quality that your loyal customers deserve or want. The pic only shows a small portion of the throw, but it's over the entire throw! I'm very disappointed!

when I received it looked it over looked ok so threw away return tag then when I went to use it pieces started to come off like it was molting I decided to wash it and put in dryer to see if the fuzz would come off it did not and looked like a rag I did not contact llbean just decided to forget about it and suck it up I bought this product because my sister in law bought one and I liked it hers is fine unfortunately mine is not very disappointed in ll bean will not buy anything else again

I have bought several of these throws through the years, and the colors were similar to what was shown online, but not his time. The "Antique White" is yellow. Unless you want a yellow throw, don't buy.

I have had one of these blankets for years that still looks brand new. I bought the larger size for my husband as a Christmas present with our name monogrammed. Less than 3 months later and it looks very worn and way older than 2 1/2 mths! I wash it just as regularly as my other one but it has begun to pill and does not look very nice anymore. Yes it still functions and is used but unfortunately it gets thrown in a basket with other blankets when company is over because I don't want to it displayed. I don't know if manufacturing changed but I'm very disappointed in the quality of this blanket. I do recommend this as a comfortable blanket but be warned it may not wear well!

Bought the Woodsmoke. I took this out of the bag and loved the color and how soft it was. Washed it, as per directions, and there was an incredible of fuzz and loose fluff. Proceeded to re-wash and no-heat dry and it looked even rattier the second time around. My clothes were covered in loose fibers. Since I planned to use this on a dark brown sectional, it's a definite no go with the shedding. I'm sending it back. I'm thankful for LLBean's great return policy, but so disappointed these didn't work out.

Like others, we have bought these for years in large and x-large. Our latest purchase was quite odd because we ordered 3 in burgundy/red and 3 in grey. In the past after 1-2 washes (no fabric softner) the blankets come out great and we have no pilling or shedding. They were always minimal to begin with, but this last order the burgundy red was fine after 2 washes, but the grey was terrible. We literally washed them 10 times. We have front loader, under 5 years old washing machines and these got worse each time. We had to send the grey color back. We also washed a grey a burgundy one together and still after months of washing, we can't get the grey pilling out of the red one. I am trying to find other blankets now that do not pill and shed all over everything include ourselves. Sad to see these blankets have this issue because they used to hold up very well.

I had bought a previous blanket in the same color a few years ago, and love it. It has been washed with no issues. So deciding to purchase another in the same color, I recently ordered another blanket. However the color was off and I was told by LLBean that the lot was different and therefore slightly off. Ok, I accepted that explanation and washed and dried it according to it's instructions, only to find it has fuzzies and is making a mess on my dark sofa, even with shaking it outside. I will try and wash it again, and hope it improves, or it will be returned. My guess is not only a different lot, but a different manufacturer that isn't the same quality.

I ordered two of these very nice throws as Christmas presents, and I had each one monogrammed. On one, I requested the monogram be in printed upper and lower case lettering, and it came out fine: looked good and was a proper size. On the other, I requested the monogram be in script. This looks terrible. The monogramming is too small to be appropriate for the size of this throw. With its small size, it looks amateurish, sloppy, cheap, inappropriate for this nice throw, and it is difficult to read. It looks bad. Very sad. If you order this type of throw, or any similar item, be sure not to order the monogramming in the script style, or if you do want script, call the order desk on the phone to see if it can be done in a larger size than what seems to be their automatic size selection for an item like this and of this size. I am very disappointed with the throw that I received to give as a Christmas present that has the monogram in script. Not the kind and quality of gift I choose to give.

The throw itself is very nice. I love the larger size and its softness. My issue comes with the laundering process. I followed the directions on the tag. I have the red throw. A rogue white sock went in with it. It came out pink and covered in red lint. The dryer mesh was COVERED in a thick layer of red lint. Overall it is still nice. I would recommend washing it completely separate from other clothes. I have never run into a laundering issue with all my previous LL Bean purchases.

Not very plush and it sheds

I purchased the extra large throw in October 2017 and have found that it did not hold in my body heat when I was watching TV late at night. I actually felt cold after using it in my apartment after 2 hours. The apartment was set to about 70 degrees F.

I recently ordered two of these throws. One had some surface pilling when it arrived, the other did not. I decided to wash both throws before use, in order to minimize the probability of shedding. The blanket which had some pilling to start with came out of the washing and drying looking terrible, and I will have to return it. The other looks better, but now has some pilling. Also: the care instructions on the throw itself say something not mentioned in the description online, namely that the throw must be dried without heat--not very practical, and definitely not within my definition of "machine wash and dry"!

I ordered 2 of the extra large white blankets. These are super warm and cozy. However, I have white fuzz everywhere ( my pants, couch, etc). Would recommended a different type.

Liked the extra large size but didn't follow the drying instruction as I have no patience for air drying something for more than 45 minutes. Will not recommend this to anyone.
