I bought this throw several months ago and just washed it for the first time. What an awful mess, just terrible, unbelievable pilling and shedding of clumps of fuzz. It has gone through both washer and dryer twice in an attempt to get rid of all the mess, no luck. I have tried shaving it with a disposable razor, using packing tape to pull off the pills, no luck. The pilling is so extensive I will probably just throw it away. I loved this throw until now. LL Bean shouldn't market something that isn't tested all the way through to "what happens when it's washed?". In addition, the hem came out along one edge before it had even been washed, and it has received very light use.

I had purchased the smaller version of this throw approx 2 years ago and loved it. Never pilled or fuzzed on me and I usually launder it every month to 2 months or so. Decided to get the extra large one a few months ago for my sofa. After just one wash, the material of the blanket appears to be disintegrating, leaving a fuzz all over my deep blue sofa. I called customer service and requested for an exchange, hoping this is just a defective one. I'm waiting to get the new throw and will update my review depending on how the new one turns out. I really love this throw and hope this is not going to be a recurrent problem. I am very unsatisfied with my purchase but very satisfied with the after sale support from LL Bean. (Even after they changed their return policy)

This is the first item in 35 years of shopping at LLBean that is totally not worth buying. This relatively small blanket sheds worse than a long hair cat in the summer. It's left fabric pills all over my house, clogged the drainage in my washer and filled the dryer lint trap so much that the dryer shut down due to over heating. Unless you like constantly using a lint brush I would not recommend this product. Do not buy!!!

I bought 8 of these throws. The throw is soft and cuddly, but the monogram is not as depicted on the preview. It is thin, small, and hardly noticeable or readable. The plush is too thick for the type of monogram that is used. It was quite embarrassing to give my nieces these throws as Christmas gifts and ask that they give them back to me to return to LLBean. I am searching elsewhere for a throw that can be nicely monogrammed to replace these.

I bought 2 of these throws recently and they were great until I washed them. I followed the instructions and they now shed horribly. You can't even use them or you are covered in lint. It's all over my throw pillows. I did call and will be getting new ones but concerned the same will happen. Luckily LL bean stands by their products and will hopefully refund my money if the same happens. Not the usual LL bean product.

Bought similar throw years ago from Llbean and it still looks good. Bought 2 new ones recently and the ivory one pilled and sheds so badly all over everything. It looks bad and I'm about to throw it out. Buyer Beware. Other reviews say this too. Wonder if we got faulty throws. So disappointed.

Just purchased 7 throws for Christmas gifts. The throw seems nice the name can hardly be seen and is so small for such a large item. Not happy at all. The name does not look anything like the "Preview"!!! No one will know who belongs to which one. Unless you can make the names "Larger"like the " Preview. You cannot do anything but refund. I brought many years ago and much better. Very sad. Not the quality as years ago.

After being happy beans customer for 35 years, I'm to sure what I find most disappointing, the fact that they'd sell this or the fact they refuse to send me a return envelope. Not happy that I had to spend time cleaning chunks of this out of washer and dryer, and now they want me to look for packaging, and take it to UPS. I'll probably just throw it out. No even good as dog bedding

I was so disappointed with this throw, the first time I washed it a pilled terribly. It left fuzz all over the furniture and my clothes.

Just received four throws. The throws themselves seem good. However the monogramming is very disappointing. The lettering is not thick enough to stand out on the plush material and they are not large enough in size to be seen. The placement is oddly scrunched diagonally in the corner of the throw. It is completely unnoticeable, rather like a name tag versus a decorative feature. I chose white lettering on a navy throw in order for it to stand out. Not having the choice of placement, I assumed it would be straight across on one side of the throw. Because monogramming is non refundable I think LLBean should be a lot clearer about what they are delivering and show you a representation of the size, and placement of your monogram on a full picture of the throw....not just the letters on their own. I wasted money for something that has no benefit.

I ordered this blanket and washed it before using. It not only pilled horribly, but ruined two shirts by covering them in fleece pill. Not up to LL Bean standards for sure, and I am still picking up its "leftovers" off furniture and clothing.

I am a long & loyal been lover. I own one of these throws from a couple seasons back, love it & launder it. I wanted to buy another one for myself & one for a friend. The new blanket looked and felt great, but after washing it badly pilled and shed, and I mean it shed on everything it touched. I exchanged my blanket TWICE, but the pilling continued. In the middle of this process LLBean said they had changed the fabric and construction of the throw, but the products I received didn't work. I returned all of them. And I hope LLBean works with their suppliers to create a non-pilling, non-shedding throw for next season. I'd love to give it one more try.

I got a extra large. This is SHED A LOT! After I washed this,there's FUR all clothes. DONT BUY THIS. I really disappointed. It doesn't worth it. I wanna a full refund!!

I bought 4 of these a couple of years ago, two in green and two in red. Initially they were great. But the blankets haven't held up. For around $30.00 each, that's not a great value. If you are washing it, it will shed and pill horribly. I bought a microfiber blanket at Target for around $15, and it's held up great with repeated washing.
