I have been a customer for 25+ years. Like the T-shirts and Polos I purchased before the "new" replacements are much poorer quality. These slippers are no exception. The ones I had for 9 years were soft leather. These new ones are hard leather and the left/right sides are almost identical with no angle for left/right side.

For all the things I've read about LLBean quality, I'm super disappointed. These didn't even measure up to something from Walmart. I bought these for my husband for Christmas last year, and within two months, they were completely worn out (holes on the bottom, etc.). So now I have to buy him a new pair for Christmas this year. By the way, I spent half the money on my own slippers last year from Land's End (including monogramming!), and they're in great condition!

I had a pair of flannel-lined handsewn slippers purchased about 5 years ago, and they were very comfortable, but wore out. My wife gave me a new pair for Christmas 2015. The new ones were not made like the old comfortable ones. They are much more narrow, have a foam lining and strange rubber sole. The new ones are much more tight on my feet that the old ones when new, so I purchased a shoe stretcher and have tried to stretch them a number of times. They do stretch, but it lasts only a few hours, then they revert to their old tight shape. They make my feet hurt. I have wide feet and normally wear a EE width, and also did when I had the previous pair, but they naturally stretched to fit my feet. These new ones will not stay stretched for anything. Why, LL Bean do you insist on trying to improve on a good produce, then end up with an inferior produce? This is not the first time. Wish I had my old comfortable slippers back!

Purchased slippers @ the end of Nov. '16. Slippers never stay tied, causing tripping issues. Inside flannel has already worn thru in some spots on both slippers.

Received as a gift, in my usual size (8-D) ; they are not stretching to fit despite daily wear for 2 1/2 months; uncomfortable to wear and are still a pain to put on; ("slippers" as in for "slipping" onto your feet, right? these, not so much. I never used a shoe horn to put on slippers before)
I even purchased a shoe stretcher to try to make them fit, still too tight in the toes. ouch.

This revises my previous review. These may be quality made slippers but they are sized incorrectly. They are too narrow. I returned them and purchased a pair of the Wicked Good slippers which I have owned and knew they fit properly. Although they are incorrectly sized by LL Bean, I was charged $6.50 for the return. After 50+ years of shopping at LL Bean, I am through. This is not the LL Bean I grew up with.

I have never had a bad experience with LL Bean products until these slippers. They completely fell apart within 10 months... the flannel tore and the foam disintegrated. When I called customer service they said they don't make the model anymore.

The lining wore out after one year of light usage. Previous pair lasted many years.
Barely wide enough for a D width, and had to re-order two sizes larger to fit.

I ordered my normal shoe size - a 10 - and these slippers, while well made, were way too big. They would not stay on my feet. I shipped them back, over two weeks ago, but still have not received a credit. Not pleased...

Had a pair of these I purchased 30 years ago that got me through college, two marriages, and three kids. Finally they gave up the ghost and went to Handsewn Heaven. The replacement pair I've had for maybe three years and they are poor excuses for the originals. Lining is all worn away in the heels of both slippers, a problem that started just a few months after I began wearing them, and I'm finally fed up to the point of returning them. The good reviews I see on here are primarily from people who have not had these slippers for long, and to those folks I say please send them back to Bean when they start to deteriorate. Because they WILL deteriorate, and the only way Bean will ever go back to good quality products is if they absorb the loss of $49.95 often enough.

Within a year the soles such that they are had cracks-holes in them-the flannel is gone in heel areas-as many businesses, Bean has fallen prey to cost containment resulting in poorer quality-lower standards-I shopped Bean almost exclusively in past years but now quality and fit are inconsistent due to import issues. They have always been accommodating and replaced but with same poor quality merchandise. It is a shame as used to be the gold standard-I called and they will replace the slippers but with what??

I purchased the slippers with size 7. But they are bigger than size 7. I can not wear then without socks. Slippers quality is good but there seems to be some issue in the way size is indicated. It is not normal size 7.

I have purchased a pair of these as a gift for my brother-in-law. Several months later I bought a pair for myself.
Well on mine the flannel lining and foam underneath near the heal is all worn away after just a few short months.
While visiting my brother-in-law recently, I discovered he has the same problem. He claims he has not worn his that much.
Would not buy!!

I purchased these on Dec 16th of 2014. I only wear them during the cooler months = I would guess I have six months or less of use. In that small amount of time the lining has worn in several places on both slippers. I would rate this as poor quality.

I have only had these flannel lined slippers for 5 months and the lining in the heel area completely disintegrated and the flannel fabric pilled in other parts of the slipper. I only wear these slipped in the house. I was sent new replace slippers, customer service was GREAT!

Got for Xmas, "worn-out" by middle of March.
Come on, now, less than three months life?! Really?
Threads started coming loose in less than a WEEK.
Worn through inner lining at both heels AND under both big toes.

First, the lack of the half-sizes is a drag. Next, I did try the next size up and it was quite big. Threafter, I replaced it with a half-size smaller and it fits with difficultly, but now the flannel has worn out with basically two months of wear (wore it briefly after I bought it last Spring and then again in January of this year) and boy, is it stinky. The exterior material looks quite good still, and I am a little miffed at the number of items I have bought from LLBean recently that have failed me.

Bought these for my husband for this past Xmas. Less than a months wear and the stitching that holds the soles onto the back of the slipper is all coming out.

To me, "slippers" imply casual shoes that can be slipped on the feet easily, not those that require a shoe horn, even without socks. Instead of the items conforming to my feet fater a shorth time, as stated, my feet had conformed to them. I kept wearing them (they do look good) when suddenly they started hurting my feet something awful'. I have not sent them back because in the meantime I have had a heart attack,
I had ordered size 10, as I usually wear size 9-1/2 D.

Too bad about these slippers. I like the looks, but they are way too big. I've had a number of different makes of slippers in size 13, and they all fit. So, I'm going to be dinged $6 shipping for returning these. Oh, well. Live and learn.

I love these slippers, but will return them later this week. I have had them about 8 months now and the liner is falling to pieces. The liner looks like flannel, but it is apparently sprayed onto some kind of foam liner. For some reason, my pair have been disintegrating for the last couple months. At first I thought that it was a minor problem, but now the entire lining seems to be going. I like these slippers so much, I think that I will try the much more expensive pair with the leather lining - but the truth is that I am very disappointed in these slippers, because I really did like them a lot.

These are the most uncomfortable slippers I have ever worn. They are very tight in the forefoot and never do stretch to fit (as stated in the description). The flannel lining wore through in the heel area after only a few months.

I have purchased this product three time. The first to times the slippers were fantastic, lasted. This time, within two weeks the right inside bottom pealed back. Eventually this led to a hole, then the inferior sewing holding the bottom to the top let go and now my big toe is uncovered. The left slipper is following along the same path, the inner sole is not sturdy, though it once was. The sewing is all inferior. Perhaps the problem is at the factory.

These slippers are very narrow. Unless you have narrow feet do not purchase these slippers. I wore them despite the discomfort thinking they would stretch out but they didn't. In addition the flannel on the inside wore out after two months. They're a nice looking slipper and the shell material and stitching are excellent quality but the poor quality of the lining and poor fit give them an overall poor rating.
