Have had several pairs of these slippers over the past years. They have always been durable and comfortable. However, I received a new pair for Christmas 2010. The sole became loose on the heel of on one by February and on the second by June. The interior flannel wore quickly. My wife complained and they were replaced. After receiving the new pair, I put them on only to find a dead mouse crammed up in the toe. Not kidding.
LL Bean apologized and replaced them quickly.

I'm usually a huge fan of LLBean footwear but I bought these for my husbands birthday in February and by May one side of the shoe came unsewn. I was quite disappointed.

I bought these for my husband around Christmas and within two months the lining was completely worn through in the heel. Unbelievable!

As others have pointed out, the soles separate from the upper at the toe. I wear them only in the house, and they lasted less than 6 months.

I purchased these slippers for my husband for Christmas. Within a couple of weeks of wearing them, the stitching on the toes came apart and the inside lining was wearing away. Returned them to the store for a full refund. Not pleased with the slippers but very pleased that LL Bean stands by their product and refunded my money no questions asked.

I have only worn these house slippers during this past winter season, and the stitching has already worn through on the toe of both slippers causing separation. The design deficiency results from the stitching being on the bottom of the sole, not higher up the sides as they are on the higher priced double-sole leather slippers. I wore a leather-lined pair of them for four years before wearing through the outer layer. There were no stitching issues due to better construction design.

I am very dissappointed in these slippers. I ordered in the same size as the previous, discontinued LL Bean slippers, and these are a tad too long and too wide (and I wear a EEE shoe). The leather isn't nearly as supple as that of the previous slippers. The cushioning on the footbed is TOO deep (and therefore too hot), and that wrap-around sole that seems to come so high up on the side of the arch feels just-plain weird.

I've made many satisfactory purchases from LL Bean for the past 6 years. However I am quite disappointed with these slippers.
The stitching fell apart very quickly after I received them.

I ordered a 10 Medium. It's marked 10M, but I could not get my foot into it.

The stitching began to come undone the second day I wore them. Very uncomfortable. I wore them for several days without socks and got bad blisters. The flannel lining began to wear away, almost at once. After less than a week, I threw them away. Good riddance.

I bought a similar slipper several years back and paid a premium for the deer hide. The crepe soles just do not last outdoor use (around the house) and will wear through with normal wear and tear within a year to year and a half. I would not recommend purchase of any of the slippers with crepe soles if you plan to use them outdoors.

I received these slippers for Christmas (Dec '08). It is now Jan ('09) and the stitching around the sole is coming apart and the flannel lining has holes in it and they aren't even a month old! Very poor quality considering the little wear they have gotten.

A most comfortable slipper that literally fell apart in just short of 12 months of daily use! The stiching came out and the lining wore down within a few months. I was really surprised how quickly it fell apart. At first, it is very comfortable, but it is not at all built to last.
