my slippers arrived today. My excitement was quickly replaced by disappointment. Slippers were too narrow, and very tight at the instep. I have owned a pair of the Bison leather slippers from LL Bean for almost a decade and loved them, but these ones paled in comparison. sending them back.

Beautiful moc/slippers with one major downfall: the flannel inside wears out quickly. I've never gotten these wet or even worn them to the mailbox yet the flannel has worn away at the heel. I would think this is a unique situation but I bought the identical pair years ago and within months gave them to Goodwill because the flannel at the heel and toe area was gone.
I'm clueless as to why LL Bean (absolutely my favorite clothing company) doesn't glue a thin leather heel pad over the flannel. If that were the case, these would be a 5 star hands down.
Note: I bought these in late December, two months ago.

Within one month of purchase the outside stitching at the heel started to become undone. Within 9 months after purhase, the flannel lining is worn through at both the heel and toe ends of both slippers. L.L. Bean, being true to their wood, is replacing the slippers at no cost

The stitching that joins the foot bed to the upper is weak and breaks. Also the flannel lining will wear through on daily use, had to return

I hate to rate such nice slippers so low but there are two issues I found with mine: 1. the smaller issue the rubbery sole sticks on carpets and I've actually stumbled as a result (that's dangerous), and 2. THE BIG ISSUE is that I wore holes in the heel of the flannel lining in a couple months. I wish LL Bean would put a thin leather heel pad over the flannel. This would probably jump my rating to 5 stars.

My husband loved the two pairs of these slippers he previously ordered--this pair is too wide and a rounder toe box; the leather is
stiff--not at all what he is currently wearing. Regret that we
returned them.

I love the women's fleece lined version of this slipper, so decided to buy a pair for my husband. I opted for the flannel lined version, but was disappointed with the quality of the lining. They looked and fit great out of the box. Sadly, after only a month or so of wear the flannel lining has holes in it. I will be returning these for a fleece lined pair.

I bought these when the pair that I had with a faux fur lining wore out after numerous years of frequent wear. I am a slipper fanatic/stay-at-home-mom and thus I wear these slippers every single day for most of the day during the fall and winter. It has now been a year and the flannel lining is tearing and getting worse rather quickly. I don't expect that the lining will last another year. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect 2 years out of slippers and I will not be purchasing another pair.
With all that said, the leather and outer sole are holding up remarkably well as expected.

Have purchased these for my husband before and tried again to replace his old ones in 2013 and 2014 but they run too narrow now and don't fit his feet. He doesn't usually wear wide shoes, either. I have to return them, much to our disappointment.

My husband wears a half size, so I ordered 1 pair up and 1 pair down from his size. The smaller pair fit better. They were attractive, and accomodated his wide toes and narrow heal, and the sole was supportive and "cushy." However, we returned both pair because of the obnoxious chemical odor coming from the soles. When you can smell chemicals as soon as you open the box, that cannot be good for you. Unfortunately odors are impossible to know about when mail-ordering. We would love it if L L Bean decided to offer more "healthy" options.

These slippers are 1/2 size larger than shoes I normally wear but are too narrow. I'm trying to stretch them with shoe trees.

These are well made slippers. however, they are quite narrow and appear to be a size smaller than stated.

So here's the deal. These are not bad slippers. They are just not what they were advertised to be. They are labeled "flannel lined," when in reality, they are lined with plaid foam. It just doesn't feel as good against your skin as flannel would. I guess I will keep them as I am now living overseas and they would be difficult to return. Otherwise, they seem well made though very narrow as several previous posters have noted.

I am a huge fan of LL Bean and have never been disappointed with the quality and delivery of my purchases. But as last, I have hit a snag. Ordered these slippers and felt like one of Cinderellas sisters. They just don't fit. Pretty narrow for a medium and not made for high arches. I will return them and reorder a different style.
Still an LL Bean fan.

They were not very comfortable. They were too loose at the heel. Thought they would have been softer.

Slippers are only offered in medium, which is actually narrow. My feet are not that large and the fit is uncomfortable and there is no sign thus far that any stretching to fit my feet will occur. Another few weeks and they are going back to LLB. I am disappointed.

These arrive with a very, very snug fit. There's even a warning about how tight the fit will be initially. I've worn mine every day for a few weeks now, they are not as uncomfortable as they started but still very, very snug. I hope they will stretch out before too long.
They are also warmer than I expected. I went with flannel lined slippers instead of fleece because fleece ones always make my feet too hot, they sweat, then they get cold. These have a thick cushioned flannel lining which was more insulation than I expected.

I am female, and have been ordering these slippers for years. Unfortunately, they no longer have the flannel lined available for women - only the fleece lined. The fleeced lined are much too warm, so I tried ordering the men's in the smallest size available. They are a little big - wish they made them one size smaller. Or better yet - PLEASE BRING BACK THE FLANNEL LINED FOR WOMEN!!

Very narrow slipper! Instructions included say they will stretch to fit. I hobbled around for two days and they still hurt my toes. If you have a very narrow foot these may be for you. On the positive side they appear well constructed and the soles feel cushy! Will be returning the item.

I bought two pairs of these in the last 3 years and while initially they are good, they start to fall apart very quickly. The flannel lining starts to wear out within a few months followed by the stitching that holds the rubber sole to the leather. The first pair were the suede ones so I thought i would try the leather ones but they were no better. Within a 9 months the rubber sole was tearing apart. These slippers are simply not durable and certainly not worth the $40.00. Sign me disappointed!

I've had two pairs of these slippers and have loved them. Size is right, leather shell wears very well, laces stay tied, and best of all, the sole works great on snow and ice. My single complaint is that after less than three years of use, the flannel liner is shot! Worn out, threadbare! I have loved these slippers and I hate to toss them. I wish LLB would make them with a soft leather liner like their elkhide slipper. I'd gladly pay more for the same style with a soft leather liner.

I usually wear a 10.5 M shoe, and got a size 11 slipper. I found them very comfortable, and I really liked the rubber sole - it gave a good grip on floors and I could run outside for the paper in the morning. Unfortunately, the inside lining wore thin in a matter of months - months! - which made them uncomfortable to wear because the worn material bunched in little rolls, and you could feel the thinner spots.

My husband has always worn a size 9 in LL Bean slippers. Imagine his surprise when he tried his new slippers on---they were too small! He had to return for the next size. The new ones are a size 10.

I purchased the slippers for my husband for christmas. Since they don't come in half sizes, I was told to order up. THe size 9 was slipping off his feet even with socks. The size 8 was super tight.
