Unfortunately, the hikers were too wide at the heel and returned them

Bought these hiking shoes for a upcoming trip to Alaska. Put them on to see how they felt and check to see how my feet liked them. I'm 80 years old and have neuropathy so the dogs can be a bit problematic. No matter what I do, what kind of knot I tied , the laces, a stretchy braided type that looked nice, they will not stay tied. Not even for 1 hour walking around the house!

They were out of stock and as a result I can't provide further input.

Unless you have very narrow feet, I don't recommend a purchase. For some reason, probably due to overseas manufacturing, LL Bean's entire product line in footwear runs too narrow. This is the 5th purchase in footwear returning due to cheapened narrow width.

Sad to report that the one star reviews for this trail shoe have it correct. My size is 14W and, of course, I have owned many trail shoes in that size over the past decades. This shoe simply is too narrow and is too tight in the toe box. One other quirk is that the tread felt like there were stones under the balls of my feet.

I'll be returning them. I thought from other reviews they were comfortable and "broken in" from the first day. Not true! I have a bunion on one foot that they rubbed against and it didn't get any better after wearing for a whole morning.

While these shoes seemed to be constructed well, they just didn't fit. I have wide feet and I have been happy in the past buying New Balance EEEE shoes through L.L. Bean but the past couple of years most shoes available through Bean have been their store brand which are usually only available in medium widths. These shoes only come in medium and wide.

This used to be an extremely comfortable hiker that offered excellent performance at a very affordable price but, sadly, I may have to go looking for a new go-to hiking shoe. I ordered this in a wide and it was still way too narrow. This was the third pair of trail model hikers that I've owned over the years and I never had an issue with the fit on either of the previous models that I owned. Always found this shoe to be much more comfortable and supportive with vastly better traction and waterproofing than much more high priced hikers. Unfortunately, I'll never know how this model performs because it is unwearable and I missed the return window so now I'm stuck with it. Very disappointing development for a shoe that has nearly doubled in price from just a few years ago.

Shoes are not close to the size chart. Tried two different sizes none came close to fitting properly.

I was looking for a wide width summer weight hiking boot to go along with my Cresta GORE-TEX Leather Hiking Boots and these looked promising. The width was good but it was terribly uncomfortable, almost like they put a narrow top on a wide sole. The top was so low it was painful on the top of my foot. Would be a great shoe if it had more of a box toe.

I received these hiking shoes in Sep 2021, so about a year and half ago. Have worn them occasionally for hikes, or when weather was bad - but by no means a daily wear shoe. Very stable, and very comfortable. I was very happy with them at first. But they are no longer waterproof, and become thoroughly soaked just walking in light rain. Structurally these shoes remain in good condition; they have not been abused. But as a hiking shoe, they are now worthless. A call to Customer Service was quickly met with a suggestion that "maybe it's time to buy a new pair" - and no offer to stand behind this product at all. Very disappointing for a long time, dedicated customer of LLBean. I certainly will not pay for another pair.

The water resistant Trail 4 is much, much smaller than the "standard" model. Unhappy about paying return shipping, so I visited nearest store on next trip to the city.

Unfortunately, like so many other shoes that LLBean carries, this shoe is not available in B width. I use the LLBean CC but limit that as I don't wear clothing out that fast. I've gone through 3 pairs of the Cresta backpacking boot as it is one of the few products available in B. I'm sure I am not alone with this issue.

I returned the item 4 weeks ago bc these shoes run a half size too small and requested a half size larger. I have had zero response from LL Bean. I called customer support almost 2 weeks ago and was told that LL Bean received my return but was extremely backed up with returns and it would be another few weeks until they would do anything. Last time I'll make that mistake again. No more LL Bean purchases.

The shoes were not comfortable at all and I exchanged them for a pair of Oboz which are great. The people at the local L.L. Bean store were great with helping me find a different pair.

Should have gone by the bad reviews. They are too small and one has to be a different size. So much for giving them another chance. Why O quit buying ten years ago.

They had a flaw in them. There was a heavy bump on the lacing seam and it didn't look right. I sent them back and ask for a replacement but haven't heard anything as yet. My husband is anxious to try them on.

Bought my normal size 11 online. Too small, and narrow, sent back and ordered 11 1/2 Wide. Still too small. Sending back for a refund less 2 shipping costs on me.

One weekend Boy Scout trip and the sole is already separating from the shoe. Disappointing that these "outdoor" shoes couldn't hold up to a few hours of hiking and camping with a 14 yr old
