Very comfortable for every day. Tended to bunch up in my boots.

Same review as light cushion, but obviously this one is more padded. The weave is a little less tight than my other Smartwool heavyweight hiker socks, but they are winter warm, fit fine, and snugged up after a washing. Don't know if they will last as long, less than one month of wear. Looks like a cotton sock, wears like good wool. They stay in place, whether pulled up or slouched. The toe seam is very comfortable. Unisex fit so the width isn't quite as narrow as a women's large. I'm glad I didn't pay full price for this style, I would have returned them.

I think these might just be my favorite socks. I was looking specifically for socks with a good thick cushion for the times I'm hiking and all kinds of rocks and other things are getting in my shoe and making it less comfortable to walk. (I only wear low shoes). My feet & ankle area felt warm too, though I can't tell if they kept them warmer than other non-Smartwool, non-hiking socks I own.

Fit great, comfortable, a ton of cushion, and warm maybe even a little too warm! I run hot, but these are definitely best for fall or winter hikes in Wisconsin.

I have gotten spoiled by the other hiking socks, these definitely feel different on my feet and get stretched out quicker.

Daily use. Like the padded sole. Collar is a little tight to pullup and they tend to slide down...

The fit of these socks was quite different from other Smartwool socks I've purchased (like the Athletic Targeted Cushion Crew and the Hike Classic Extra Cushion Crew). The fit around the ankle and calf area is a lot tighter. I can still wear them and the quality is great like all the Smartwool socks, but I just don't often reach for them because are not as comfortable and I won't repurchase these.

Not a fan. Taller and thinner than expected. Cushioning is not consistent on the sole (it’s under the feet and heel but not the middle of the foot) giving a weird feeling. The foot is too loose and the. calf is too tight. All of these factors make them uncomfortable to wear or walk in. A waste of a lot of money, I do not recommend them.

If they were softer, and didn't transfer black dye to my feet that doesn't come off with scrubbing or even rubbing alcohol, then they'd be perfect. But they're not.

Oh my beloved Smartwool, what's going on with the decline in quality?!? I've been a huge fan of Smartwool and have been incredibly brand-loyal for 20 years due to the quality and comfort of their socks. I have worn them both for hiking and for daily wear for all these years. BUT, I'm so sad to report that these newly purchased socks are NOT the same Smartwool I know and love. They feel great going on, but start to get baggy and bunchy in the toes and heels within less than an hour of wearing them. I NEVER would have expected this from Smartwool. Such a bummer. They've lost a very loyal customer. I'll be moving on to Bombas in the future.

These socks instantly pilled and looked like they were 100 years old. Plus the inside is not smooth--it's all bumpy and very uncomfortable underfoot. Not sure if I received seconds or what, but they are already in the donation bag.

Not as well made as the previous sturdier heavyweight Merino wool socks that were a Smartwool quality staple.

I wore them literally once on a normal day to an office job and they're already coming apart. Total waste of money.

The calf is way too small, the foot is however nicely cushioned and fits, I had to cut the ankle-calf part
