Great on winter hikes and walks

I use these with my lightweight Zamberlan hunting boots. These socks offer amazing comfort, keep my feet dry and comfortable all day. I can walk for hours in these socks, they make a huge difference. Don't buy socks that are not 100% wool, better yet get only Smartwool!

These socks are great when I go on a 2 mile hike with friends. I like the full cushion for hikes as it helps protect the bottom of your feet from sores.

Son loves these socks, though since you asked, I gave him Darn Tough years ago and they have yet to wear through the toes. Smartwool has already worn through the toes I gave him 1-2 years ago.

These are my everyday socks. Aside from wearing them with sneakers, hiking shoes, and boots, I also wear them around the house without shoes. This constitutes a lot of wear and tear for a pair of socks yet some of my SmartWool socks are over two years old. They are also comfortable and always stay up / fixed around my calf. They are very well made and the only socks I buy anymore.

I'm not actually much of an outdoorsy person, but my primary footwear is a pair of hiking boots and these socks are the comfiest, coziest, most durable sock option I've found! My last pair finally wore through the ball and heel after two years of very regular wear, but rest of the sock was in near perfect condition so I darned the thin spots to extend their life and treated myself to two new pairs. The black matches my black Crocs perfectly so these get a 10/10 for me #sweepstakes

Although they are cake hike classics, I wear them shopping and moving around town. They keep my cold feet warm and dry in sloppy parking lots.

These socks are great - they are warm and comfortable. They are a little thick, but I like the length of the crew sock. I can wear these to work with pants and they are plenty long enough.
