Pretty much for everyday wear. I am a walker plus the additional bulk helps my shoes fit better as I have a very narrow foot. First pair I have bought in a long time because they don't wear out. Thankfully the new ones are as good as the ones I am replacing. I bought two pair to replace those I have sent for recycle.

I wore a pair of my new crew socks yesterday and liked them a lot. This is my first pair of 'full cushion' socks and I noticed the difference within a few steps of putting them on. I was on my feet for the next few hours doing volunteer work and appreciated the extra comfort. I've worn the regular crew socks for the past several years and never thought that extra cushioning would make a difference. But it does! So I plan to order more when these wear out.

Finally, a pair of my favorite socks in black! I have been looking for this for years and got two pair when I saw them. You'd think with the whole "black sheep, black sheep, have you any wool" thing that this would have been available sooner, haha.

The best hiking socks I own. Colors are spot-on. Fit & cushion are perfect. Price, for what they do and how they last is spot on. I've chucked out all my other woolies and I'm now a 100% SmartWool wearer.

Great socks, just wish they were available in XS. Very comfortable and high quality, and I'd definitely buy again, but might try a kids size next time since these felt like they ran a little wide.
