I have always loved this jacket and recommend it to friends. I recently bought a new one and the hood does not stay attached. It's very frustrating and makes me second guess if I should get this again.

Originally purchased the Breast Cancer awareness version of the Metropolis Parka. On day 2 of wearing the parka, the outer seam on the right sleeve burst open. Exchanged it for the regular Metropolis Parka and disappointed that this version uses a sticker logo, whereas the Breast Cancer awareness version uses an embroidered logo. The quality of North Face products over the past 20 years has gone downhill.

This was a present for my wife.
The hoodie came so easy off my wife was afraid to loose it. She wished it was attached with a zipper.
Feather started to come out. Other than that
the jacket was warm and fit very good.

If you're bigger chested this jacket is a little tight. The contouring around the waist seems to make it a little tighter on the chest. I'm 5' 8" 140 lbs and I ordered a medium and felt it was a little too tight. I then ordered a large and it was too frumpy. So I returned them both.

Super comfy but just too big. I am curveless and this shape didn't work for me. I have the metropolis jacket from like 7+ years ago and I loved it. I like the down improvement and the feel but just too big on the lower half for me. My usual size is small.

Initially pleased as it took a long time to find a knee-length coat that is lovely and soft and the packable type I wanted. The hood is a good shape, and the soft inner collar nice. I love the pink jazzy lining. However, I am 5'7" with 40 inch chest and hips, 34 inch waist and the coat made me look so heavy: The idea of a shaped waist to try to make it less bulky doesn't work- it made me look really fat. Also the waist is too high and can't be adjusted. The large is a trim fit.

Kinda disappointed. The North Face logo is not stitched in. And the snaps on the hood are plastic. They are the worst!! They come unsnapped at the touch of the hood!!

Nice looking jacket. Runs small IMO in the chest and arms. I returned it, for this reason.

If you like to wear your coats fitted to show the style of the coat then it is true to size. I like how the waist cinches in the back . For the cost the jacket is too plain, it's about average with warmth. I would size up if you want to wear layers. I'm 5'7 166 pounds and can fit a thin hoodie under a medium size

The jacket is warm and comfortable. However, I absolutely hate how easily the hood comes off. I have to make sure its on my head in order to put on and take off my purse. If I don't the hood easily starts to unbutton. It's a constant inconvenience.

Love the warmth and overall quality of the coat, but the snap on hood is moderately frustrating! A simple snag on something and the hood snaps right off. If it weren't for the hood, it'd probably be a 5 star coat for me.

Beautiful coat and I would have given it a 5 however one of the snaps on the hood was broken.

I wanted to love this jacket but unfortunately it just did not work out for me. First I'll start with the positives- this jacket is lightweight but super warm. This would have been perfect for New England winters. It looked to be very well made and I would expect this coat to last for a long time. The one big negative for me was the cut of the coat- something about the way it cinched at the waist that made me look much wider. It just looked unattractive on me. I am curvy to begin with so maybe this would work for someone with a different body type.

This coat is perfect for the Chicago winters. My only dislike is the very cheap snap buttons on the hood. The good constantly comes off because the snap buttons are very cheap,. They are plastic not the metal snap buttons as old Northface jacket.

Its a nice coat. Disappointing by how easily the hat comes off. I put on my purse it comes off. I put up the hood it snaps off on the corners. I honestly hate this coat and the only way i see myself using it is if i take it too a tailor to have the hat permanently sown on, a zipper put on it, or new metal snaps put on it.

Warm and comfy but runs a little large. Hood is way too big and falls over my eyes.

I bought for a trip to Chicago cause it was cold and what a disappointment. The hood had cheap plastic snaps and wouldn't stay on in the super wind and cold. It would just unsnap when I moved my head etc.

I loved this jacket for over a year, finally said I'm going to get it. Overall it's a great jacket, it's just missing a lot of details the price and brand you are paying for should have. You can only zip this jacket no snap buttons or Velcro to quickly close when you just have to run out. Also I am disappointed in the lack of details with the coat. Only two regular pockets on the outside and one tiny on the inside pockets that can possibly hold lipgloss only. The first NorthFace I had, had pocket options and I loved that. Breast pockets, standard pockets, inside pockets, for gloves, phone, keys whatever. This one doesn't have any of that. Those were my two things that would change my mind if I were shopping in person. The hood hasn't come off easily like I saw in other reviews no issue there. It is warm I feel nothing on cold New York nights but details I miss that.

This is a slim fit coat, so there wasn't as much room for arm movement as I would have hoped. Also, I wasn't nearly as cute in it as the model, I looked much more like a marshmallow . I ended up buying a different TNF parka.
