Love the parka, hate the hood. It snaps off way too easily, to the point that you can't hang it by the hood or it will all nap off and fall. The parka itself looks lovely with the tapered waist.

I love the warmth and fit of this jacket! The shelter from the rain and snow the hood provides is amazing. However, the hood unbuttons from the jacket so easily! It is very annoying. Everytime I try and put the hood on, I hear 1-3 buttons unsnap.

I love this jacket. It kept me warm in the mountains of Colorado. The only downside is that the hood snaps off easily.

I live in Vancouver and always outdoors so was looking for a warm waterproof coat. I love this coat but it has one major flaw, the snaps on the hood are so flimsy it always falls off. This is the 2 nd one I ordered. The first was white and real wow factor when I put it on but I thought it's covered in ink marks. It was not ink, it was blue threads in the down that showed through the jacket fabric. Sadly I returned it and loved the grey. I have worn it a few times, very warm! Love it but the hood does not stay on! Any small moved! Swing a scarf around our through purse straps and it is hanging on, I am so afraid I will loose the hood

Very tight along the stomach, breast & shoulder area contrary to when she tried it on in a store. XL was too big so my daughter decided to keep it hoping will stretch out somewhat.

I've been searching for a few months for the right longer, warm jacket to use during wintertime dog walks. I've bought and returned a few. This one I am likely to keep, because it really does satisfy all of my needs. The coat is nicely styled with a tapered waist, and great length so you don't feel stylish, and not like a marshmallow. It's very warm, and I'm pleased it has a hood that can be detached when it's not necessary. I have two big complaints. The plastic snaps on the detachable hood pop off with the slightest of pressure. If someone grabs you by the hood, there will be a noise rip and your hood will be gone. If you try to hang up the coat and accidentally get the hood, it's off. If it catches something as you walk by, at least 3 snaps will pop off. I worry at some point, I will lose this hood. Why not use a discrete zipper, North Face?? Also, the jacket has adequately sized external pockets to shove your phone and hands into, but there is only one internal pocket, and if I work really hard (too hard), I can cram my phone into that. The internal pocket is undersized for today's phones, and really is only big enough for keys and a small wallet. Designers should really plan these pockets so that we ladies can tuck away our belongings too! So, will I keep the jacket? I "think" so...

It is very warm and runs true to size. I have however noticed little white feathers poking through at times. I was surprise by this as it is a relatively expensive coat and I would have expected better quality. It also doesn't have any type of loop or hook to hang it.

I love the fit of the jacket, although it tends to run a bit smaller so I would suggest sizing up. I usually wear a size xsmall but had to go up one size to a small. The jacket is very warm and trendy. I love how it has an a-line shape to it. The only huge problem is the hood that tends to snap off easily. I still feel that positives of the jacket outweigh the negatives thus I feel is a keeper! :)

The only thing I am not a fan of is the plastic snaps for the hood (many of the reviews mention this).

This is a great coat - I got one for my girlfriend and one for my daughter. Incredibly useful for the city and the woods. My daughter had to exchange her size and it was very easy going to a local store. - I do wish I would of know about the reward program before I spent this much cash -thus could of got the points

Not a bad coat. I wish it had more interior pockets to keep phones, license, etc. I would purchase it again, though, as the scout replaced a similar model that was almost ten years old.

Love the coat. I would give it ten stars for warmth and style. It's just a great looking coat. I bought the large. I am 5'8" and weigh 165 pounds. Still plenty of room for a winter sweater underneath. I do have one gripe, and it irritates me daily- the snaps on the hood are RIDICULOUS. I never hang by the hood (it's actually impossible). The hood snaps to the coat by way of these tiny, very weak snaps. They come unsnapped constantly. I'm finding myself being very cautious with the hood, and I feel that's absurd with the cost of the coat. It should just function properly. Other than that, the coat is beautiful.

It's a really nice coat, very warm. I'm not a fan of the cinched waist though. Wish that wasn't there, but over all it's a great coat.

I live in this parka, so, obviously, I love it. My only complaint is the snaps that attach the hood are kinda wimpy. If one grabs it by the hood, it easily unsnaps.

Seems like a high quality product. Haven't used it yet as the weather has been relatively nice but looking forward to using to bundle up in frigid temps.

I bought this to replace a really old version of this coat that was awesome. I bought it in green and love the durability so far (dogs jumping up and no tearing). My one grievance is that the hood pops off if you do anything to it. I wanted a coat with a hood but this one has popped off five or six times, you can't pick it up by the hood or hang it by the hood. I've ended up having to take the hood fully off cause it's always hanging with two or three snaps undone.

It is a nice coat, warm. My only complaint is the length for someone who is short. Maybe have different lengths.

Love everything about this coat. Its light in weight but keeps you warm. The only complaint I have is that it is a little tighter on the bust area (at least for me). Other than that, this purchase was an absolute gem.

This coat is beautiful. I look/feel slimmer than the big puffy coats as this really zips you in (like a glove, so it may be a bit snug with oversized sweaters on). I was happy though with my regular size Medium. Super warm for outdoor Chicago cold hikes! Major con: As other reviews state, the hood snaps are not secure and the hood pops off even while just adjusting around face. A zipper would way better! North Face please listen to your consumers here who love your product. :)

Pretty color. Great length. Well made. Only con is that I'd prefer that you could adjust the waist so that it could be cinched more.

I use the coat on a daily basis for school drop offs and for running errands. I am in a mountain town with snow and although it keeps me fairly warm, it's not quite as warm as I'd like it to be. I'm used to inner cuffs at the wrist and I thought not having them would bother me, but it doesn't. It runs true to size. I'm 5'7" 150lbs and bought a medium, which fits perfectly. The sleeves are long enough and it's roomy enough for a layer or two. Ultimately I'm happy with the purchase.
