So, I love the 860. I've owned many pairs. I use mine to walk every day and they are perfect for my wide, flat feet. I loved the v11 and when the v12 came out I took the plunge and they are good except...I preferred the back of the v11. The v12 is a little too stiff and sometimes rubs against my ankles in an annoying way. I know it's minor, and I'd still buy another pair but, the v11 back was just a little bit better, at least for me. Other than that, these are great shoes.

I think New Balance could spring for laces that don't open unless double knotted. other than that love the V12

These were not comfortable for me. I wish I would have returned them when I had the chance. They felt like I was wearing cardboard shoes (don’t know how else to explain it)

Husband says they’re very comfortable and they do look good on. But they cost over $100 and have lasted less than a year with very light wear. He pretty much just uses them to run errands and sit at a desk all day, but they already have a hole in the mesh fabric across the toe.

I have a difficult time buying shoes. I have kept this shoe because i needed a shoe with a rounder toe. and was having a difficult time. The width of this shoe is not as marked. Considering the cost, this shoe does not have the long lasting support either.

New Balance appears to be making their shoes shorter and narrower than historically produced. The most observable difference is in the toe box. Formerly the 840v4 had excellent width while newer versions have a narrow toe box which defeats the purpose for people like myself who need the width all the way to the end of the shoe. Very disappointed…

I tried these versus the higher end new balance because they were on sale. My takeaway is that you get what you pay for because they are cheap feeling and clunky. I never have a problem with higher ended new balance although they do tend to wear out fast.in these they just feel clumsy and somewhat shabby from the get go.

These shoes are comfortable. The downside is that they only lasted 6 months.

The 860 is probably a good shoe but I was looking for a replacement for my 940's ( No longer available) and they were a no go for me. The return was very easy.

I liked the color of the 880's I bought this past winter. They lasted me about 6 months, and it was time for new ones. However, the 860's were the only model with the color I liked. They are not nearly as stable as the 880's. Stopping quickly tends to put more pressure on my ankle, almost like the 880's had a lower center of gravity? My advice is if you like the 880's--don't go to the 860's. If you like the 860's--try the 880's.

Overall buying process was positive, but the sizing was off of what I expected. I usually wear 11-12 so I went for a 11.5, but that was way too big.

I wish you had a greater selection of size 12, 4E. I do like New Balance and would try other styles but not sized for me. The limited selection forces me to. Look at sneaker manufactures. Please make an effort to carry a wider variety of styles in larger and wider sizes. Otherwise, I may find a better sneaker elsewhere, thanks for your consideration.

9 out of my last 10 pairs of running shoes have been NB. This is the first time that I've found them to be smaller, in terms of width, than advertised. The shoe itself is comfortable enough for walking/running shorter distances, but by about mile 4, my feet are starting to hurt. I've put over 80 miles on them so far, but I'll be looking for another pair to wear on longer distance runs. I'll keep these for shorter ones.
I'd also recommend:
NB, Brooks

I've been buying 860s for years. The new heal is less comfortable. IMO the new colors are pretty bad. Same great toe box though.

Mountain Teal color on the website appears to be a shade of turquoise-y green when in fact it is very much a blue.

I have been wearing 860s for years for walking on artificial knees. I need a big toe box. These v.12 shoes in my "regular" size for v.10 and v.11 felt great the first days out walking on level ground. Then I did an uphill hike. Coming down, I felt my right big toe hit the rigid front of the shoe toebox. On a long hike it would be purple toenail time. I decided to use these just for local ,even walks and ordered a half size longer. Comparing the 3 shoes, I confirmed the big toe is right at the rigid inner side of the v.12 usual size toe box. On my same size old v.11, it's a good fingerwidth away. With the half size larger v.12, my big toe is in about the same place as in the smaller v.11. I also note they changed the soft toe box top of the v.11 to make a harder raised edge.

Jury is still out. I've only worn the shoes once and they felt odd on my feet. I'm taking a break now that it's so hot. I'll give them another chance soon.

Great fit right out of the box on E width. Stable and firm sole which is what I need, but can feel it starting to break down from mid-sole thru the toe box. Will have to wait them out.

My son always wears a medium width, and has a narrow heel. These shoes were too tight even with no socks. Exchanging for wide. I hope it works.

I had a previous pair of the same shoes and they fit perfectly. Are you ordered the same model and width and they seem to be a little tight. I will try them for a while in the house and see if they loosen up.
