It was too tight. I usually take a woman's size 9 or 9 1/2 in shoes. For sneakers I have found that even the Women's size 9 1/2 is too tight, and the 10s are too long, no matter what brand I try. I tried to order these in men's size 8. Those were too tight, too. I am going to return both of them and order them a half size larger if I can.

They felt more narrow than my other 4E so they had to be returned. Hopefully they go up in width one day.

I truly love this shoe. Being someone who is flat footed and pronates this shoe truly helps me, it accomidates my orthotic well to. I do NOT love this shoe as much as I loved the v11.... sadly. Why change a good thing? I love the new heel design and padding but here are some aspects I am not happy about. 1.) the tongue is not secured like it was on the old shoe, therefore the tongue moves around and its extremely annoying:( 2.) the new lighter material just does not seem as sturdy as the v11 material around the toe box. 3.) the overall look of this version is not as sporty as the v11 it seems more old fashion looking, the reason I love the v11 so much was because of the sporty look and way it just fit on the foot. It has made me have a love hate relationship with this version of the 860. I really love this shoe but why do you have to make changes to something that so many of us love? I sure hope you guys take these reviews seriously and make v13 a better fit. I love NB I do not want to switch shoe companies!!!!

The 860 peaked with the fantastic V10. Since then, the price has gone way up (don't care) and the quality has gone down (care a LOT). Perhaps it's an effort to make the shoe lighter. The top of the toebox is now just the thin nylon they use on their lowest tier shoes, the laces are thinner and the worst part, the width seems to be a little tighter than it used to be. Also, the back of the shoe used to curve inward to keep my heel in place. Now, curves OUT and I feel like the shoe is going to come off of my foot. Sadly, I took them out of the box and wore them out a couple of times hoping I'd get used to them so I can't return them. I understand that they need to "freshen" the shoes but I wish they'd limit it to new bizarre color combinations based on Seattle Seahawks uniforms. I did by a few pairs of V10s when they were being phased out but now those are in need of replacement. NB used to be a place where the wide-footed could come for well-made shoes. As they've cut back on the number of styles offered in X-wide widths and now making even the ones they do offer narrower, the market they created is wide open for someone else. I've worn NB exclusively for 20 years. I'm open to suggestions on where to go next.

Not as comfortable as 860v11. The v11 felt better on your foot with more support. Did NB discontinue the v11.

I have been using 860s since v4 and this one fits differently. Not sure if that is supposed to be the case or not.

This shoe runs about a 1/2 size small. At least the color black and white does

Unfortunately I had to send these shoes back because the sizing was way off for my foot. The return policy is not very encouraging and would have exchanged sizes. The result is I sent back and the credit takes 2 weeks. I went out and bought a pair of brooks at a retail store.

The tongue of the shoe is no longer attached. It's free floating, which I'm sure some people like, but the tongue now slides to the outside instead of staying in place. I know, trivial, but I don't like it. I wish the description had mentioned the change in this version, cause I would have made a different selection.

I've been wearing the 840s (9.5 4E) for a few years. Even though these were the same size, they were nowhere near as wide as the other show. Way too narrow on the front of the foot. The ball of the foot was out over the edge of the shoe. Not wearable, and I returned them. Ended up with a Brooks Dyad 10 4E, which fit a lot better.
I'd also recommend:
Brooks Dyad (1/2 size larger)

I use the shoes for everyday wear, and especially for long dog walks. They are comfortable and well built, but seem to be slightly small. I've been wearing a size 13 in Brooks for some time, and ordered the same for New Balance.

When using the heel-lock lace holes the plastic hole insert doesn't allow laces to glide smoothly, making shoes difficult to lace and unlace

The comfort and fit of the shoe is great. I was disappointed in the color. The picture looked like a blue grey but in reality it's more neon blue.

Tongue slides to the side. Feels bulky compared to the 860 V11. I returned the 2 pairs i bought and found V11's online.

Great shoe if you only require good cushion and support. If you need more than most, just go straight to Hoka's

New Balance sells orthotic, unfortunately they don't always sell shoes to fit them! Shoe was unusual fit where 12 extra wide was on the small side, and the 12.5 extra was on the large side. It was almost they needed a size 12.25 extra wide.

I have purchased other 4E New Balance shoes in the past that fit perfect, however these are not as wide as previous models.

This is my first pair of V12 and honestly they're not as comfortable as versions of the past. The insides isn't a soft and cushioned. I'm also confused on the color choices, but that's not too big of a deal.

The sizing was fine and I thought the support was okay, but it just was not a good fit for my poor feet. However, I would recommend them to someone else.

I walk 5+ miles a day. This shoe has nice cushioning, a good sole, but is cut too short. I purchased a 13 first, it was too short, then a 14 and it was too long. I would like to return both.
