This is an almost perfect shoe, especially, if younhave wide feet. Unfortunately, there is a hard piece of plastic on the outside of the tow which nearly rubbed a whole in the top of my pinky toes after one prolonged wear.

I've been wearing NB for years and have always come back to them when purchasing my next pair. I'm disappointed with my last purchase (860 Fresh Foam) in their design. They've changed the heel design where their using plastic in the heel support. Unfortunately, the plastic has broken into multiple pieces and now the heel slips off the heel making the shoes useless.

Fit and size was on point. Material felt fine. After wearing for about 6 hours feet were aching. Compared to the 880v11 which are way more comfortable, at least for my feet after wearing them for the same amount of time.
I'd also recommend:
Earlier model Brooks Beast 18 and earlier.

The website said this model came in B width and after receiving them, saw they do not come in B width after all even they show up on the website as being made in B width.
I have very narrow feet and can actually wear a AA but can settle for B. Not many shoes are made that narrow and the ones that are aren't very appealing. Its very frustrating to finally see a decent looking shoe advertised in near my size just to realize, once again, its incorrect.

Way too tight. I have been buying NB running shoes for 20. I have purchased multiple styles over the years. I always purchase 4x wide. These are no way close to 4x

The shoe no longer fits me as the fit around the toes is too snug and no longer comfortable. I have had to look for other options

I have 860-11 and 860-12's and both have the tongue attached to the sides of the shoes. This new one does not have that and the tongue now moves from side to side.

My last two pair of sneakers for the last couple of years have been New Balance 940's, both size 10.5 Wide (2E). New Balance does not carry the 940 line anymore, so I had to find a different model in my size (they have a 990 model but it is really ugly). I had ordered a pair of 1080 v11's in the same size and had to return them because they were too tight. The 860 v12's (same size) are even tighter. I had to loosen the shoestrings so much to get my foot in, that there were not enough shoestrings to even tie the sneakers. I will be returning these as well. I wish there was more consistency with the sizing of these shoes as it is a pain to have to order and return on a trial by error basis. The closest New Balance store from me was an hour away but was recently closed and I don't have many other options but to purchase online.

I returned the shoes because i did not like the feel or fit. The shoe looks ok from top view but is very wide on bottom. The best shoes are 990 series !

V12 has thickened the side welt compared to prior versions of this sneaker which I have worn for years through multiple versions. The new design causes the sneaker to rub up against my right ankle bone. Thus, I can no longer wear this model. Very unfortunate. I use the sneaker for walking, sailing and biking. I had to return the sneaker and am still searching for a suitable replacement.

Returned them - they were not as advertised. Supposed to be great on the feet with the new foam - they weren't.
Could not tell the difference from their previous shoes.

After reading multiple reviews, I bought a pair of Fresh Foam X 860v12. I have been wearing New Balance shoes for close to 20 years and this is the only pair I wish I could return.
When I first put them on, they were great. Then after about 15 minutes, I could feel the top of one of my toes on my right foot rubbing against the shoe - and this was just walking around the house. I was not doing any real exercising. No running. No power walking. I tried everything. Orthotics. No orthotics. One pair of socks. Two pairs of socks. No socks. And every combination you can think of. I even went and had my feet measured to make sure they hadn't shrunk (or grown).
Like I said, I have worn New Balance for a long, long time. I am about as loyal a customer as they have. But these shoes just don't measure up and I have wasted a lot of money on a pair of shoes that, for me, are unwearable.

I wanted 1540v3 because I have flat feet. My size 11.5 W was not available in 1540v3 and my old shoes had become worn out so I had to get another shoe

I am a longtime fan of 860. Always used the 7.5, 2E and it worked well, until I got this v12. I have no idea what they changed- but the 2E is NOT wide. Bought this to replace my v9 for running, but can't walk in this v12 without pain, forget about running.

Ordered 11.5 4e and these shoes fit much smaller than a 11.5 and NOT 4e wide! Their tight and uncomfortable. Do not recommend. I'll send back and ask for a full refund!

I have used used your tennis shoes exclusively for years in the 4E size. Over the last year the 4E size seems smaller and is now too small for me so I have returned everything after trying several models. I believe you changed the place of manufacture and maybe that is the reason?

I use these as an everyday shoe. At first I liked them. But after a couple of weeks I'm having all kinds of pain even with my regular high end orthotics.
