I gave these shoes a few days rest and talked to my PT about them and definitely but sadly will need to return them. The sides are too high under my ankle bones and the tongue is resting against my lower leg causing me to walk against my feet and this is hurting my metatarsal bones (right where the colored part of the bottom soles is...forefoot.) Definitely hard to explain except that I was stuck in my midfoot gait right after knee surgery when rockers were recommended the first time; so, I am going in circles with reduced ROM and continuing pain to show for it. Sad and disappointed.

I really want these cute 840 shoes to work out, of the 2 NB's that I ordered, but after trying rocker shoes for the second time because it felt as if I was walking against my feet, it seems like my arches want to go down and in. I am going to ask my PT what he thinks. My toe area was definitely short in the NB 847, but these are better. I guess the most problem I am having is that my ankle bones are sitting on top of my shoes rubbing, like I need a low profile like what I used to get in Reebok before they were discontinued many years ago. No one, especially my Drs can believe how many shoes I have tried especially when my tests are negative. I need a test for weight bearing and motion, not negativity and blaming the other guy.

I read a review of these that said " i can finally walk with these sneakers" . I have been having foot issues out of the blue, a neuroma in each foot...painful and my feet feel tight. This happened after walking my usual walk 4 miles..also had pain in ball of foot after biking. So found out i have neuroma, between 2nd and 3rd toe. These sneakers are nice and wide and my heel does not slip..also put my orthotics in. Like a dream come true. I might even get another pair of this style since i have returned so many that did not work. Finally i can recover in comfort.

I love the color, but the back of the ankle is too low and hitting my achillies which feels uncomfortable.

Good shoe as one would expect from New Balance. Reasonably priced

Have worn this exact shoe (make/model) for years but this time the same size was way too small. Not worth risking the next size will work so will go with another brand.

These are great shoes. My second pair of this version. Thinking about ordering the blue pair next.

I have worn NB 840s for years and love them. Due to foot issues in the past and extensive foot surgery this year, the only shoe I can wear comfortably is the NB 840 8.5 EE. When I needed new shoes a few months ago they were out of stock at Zappos. A local shop recommended the NB 880 8.5 EE, but the toe box is narrower, and I need as much room there as possible. I appreciate the fact that Zappos will let me know when the size I need is back in stock so I can place an order. I hope NB continues to make the 840s and that Zappos continues to stock them.

Took them out of box small label in tongue seemed worn off. Laces are questionable. looking. ? Very heavy to walk in decide return them.

Toe box is flatter and shoes runs shorter than v 4.

Very disappointing. I have two pairs of previous model in the same size and width and these were not remotely similar.

The size 8 that I usually buy from New Balance has always fit my foot. This one felt a little too short. My toes touched the end of the shoe.

I have purchased this style twice before and the 9.5 D fir perfectly. Not so this time. I am returning them. I ordered a 10 wide.

An excellent sneaker for WW, it's very comfortable in the width. Has enough toe height too. My usual size was right on (7). I have a narrow heel and this keeps it in place pretty well.

Fit and size were great. They seem lighter in weight than my previous pair of 840s. The ventilated top material seems flimsier than my previous pair of 840s.

I loved this color, and really wanted to like the shoe, but it just didn’t work for me. It had the wide footbed I needed, but the top of the shoe was uncomfortably tight around my foot. I went with the Brooks Addiction.

The size fits the same but the heel no longer has room for an orthotic because it is built up too high. If you use the orthotic, your heel will slip right out. Even without an orthotic, my heel slips out because it is raised too high. Also, the quality is just not there anymore. I tried to put the lace in the "extra" opening closest to the ankle only to find that it had not been punched through. Additionally, the shoe has some cheap plastic like covering around the toe. My older New Balance shoes had a better toe covering. Sadly, New Balance just isn't what it was.

Wore these for the first time yesterday for walking. Fit was good, just like the V4's.
