I love the fit of the shoe. I bought my first pair and the wide toe bed is great. However, I'm very disappointed and the rubber on the bottom is peeling off making it impossible to wear.

I have ran torin for a while now ( actually altras in general) however my favorite version THE PLUSH. I got this ones because didn't have other option and was hoping the tongue problem was going away as you wear the shoes over and over again.... but at this point I am tired to get a blister/cut in my ankle every time I run on those. So disappointing....... you guys need to listen to your customers and fix those problems and STOP changing the shoes with every new version.... the shoe should be getting better and better... but in this case it's totally opposite.

The insoles don't fit the shoes, the tongue of the shoe is so hard and long that it digs into the front of my ankle. I used to love these shoes but I keep getting disappointed

The Torin 4 plush was my favorite shoe of all time! Why did you wreck it?? This thing is hard and hurts my forefooot. And thats not just the tung which I had to cut out. That thing is like a razor that sliced into my tendon after mear minutes. Hate this shoe. Loved the torin 4 plush this is not it

these shoes fell apart within a few weeks. I've never seen a pair of shoes with so much damage, sole tread peeling off, fabric is coming apart, and the upper portion stitching is detaching from the sole. will not buy again.

The feeling of the sole is great, but the tongue is an absolute nightmare. It left scars on my ankle and when I reached out for help it was a miserable and degrading experience.

I have been a big fan of Altras until buying this pair like other reviews have stated, the tongue cuts my ankle/lower leg every time I run! I have had to start folding them down so they don't touch my skin at all. They also run a bit small so now I'm dealing with bruised toe nails as well. Super disappointed!

I normally love altras. I wear my lone peak's down like no other, so I thought I would try their road runner. Makes sense, right? WRONG! THE TONGUE IS HORRIBLE! if you would take the lone peak tongue and put on this shoe- it would be perfect. MAKE THE TONGUE SQUISHY PLEASE.

The tongue of this shoe is so stiff it dug into my foot. And it hurts my big toenails. I ordered a 6.5 and usually only need a 6. It seemed to run small to me and overall my foot just didn’t mold into this shoe well.

The edges of the tongues were too rough for comfort against my ankles.

I've never had an issue with Altras until this shoe. After one short run the tongue had cut into my ankle and I now have a scar. I switched to the Torin Luxe and had no issue.

I have worn nothing but Altra shoes for the last 6 years. My Torin Plush 4.5 are finally worn out, and I decided to make the purchase after they went on sale despite the negative reviews. I definitely agree that the tongue is sharp, stiff, and overall a terrible material compared to the 4.5. It was uncomfortable and caused an obvious irritated red mark where it rubbed on my ankle in the short duration I wore them around my living room. I did try on a pair of higher, thicker socks which did alleviate the issue with the tongue. I am a solid 7 in every Torin I have ever purchased, but the dusty pink color felt an actual full size smaller. I double checked the size and wondered if it had been mislabeled. I had also ordered the gray/coral in a size 7, and it fit fine (except for the tongue issue). I sent both pairs back and ordered the Torin 6 as the description said the tongue has been redesigned. I am bummed because I love catching these shoes on sale! Hopefully I will like the newer model!

I wear these shoes for work. All is great ; except for the plastic tongue.. that constantly rubs my ankle. I don't see how anyone can run in this shoe. For work I wear thicker socks. Just wanted to drop a line because these shoes are the most expensive I've paid in a long time and wish I had not. As for the shoe itself it fits well and I kept them for that reason.

While I loved the the foot sit of the shoe I had never tried it out for more than a quick jog. Well yesterday I thought shoot I'll wear it for my 12 hour shift in the emergency room and I regret it! These were painful I have scans where they cut me open from the tongue. I would love to return these shoes but can't because I have had them for a couple mths. These have such a horrible design flaw. If I can say anything to a future customer it is don't buy these the tongues are razor blades!

I like the shoes as far as comfort on the bottom goes. I went up 1 whole size and they work pretty well. My beef with these shoes is with the tongue. Its like a hard plastic that rubs on the front of my ankles and tears my skin up. It's terrible. I'm not sure why a company would ever find that to be a good idea. Even when wearing longer socks I've had this issue. When I run in these shoes I have to put blister Band-Aids there to try to stop them from cutting me. I now have marks on my ankles that won't go away, which has halted my sale of foot pics to pay for running shoes.

I bought 2 pairs of the Torin 5. Due to an injury I was not able to run in them, but I walked in them (mostly on a track). Both pairs starting falling apart (the soles) within 3 months!! The construction of these shoes were not of Altra quality (I've been an Altra customer for years). Very disappointed in the Torin 5.

I bought these having read the comments but thought I'd give them a try anyway because I have LOVED my previous Torins. The tongue is enough to send them back and look elsewhere for an everyday shoe. Not sure how the tongue was approved - the material is hard and is extremely uncomfortable on the ankle. I also don't like the look of taller socks, but even socks can't alleviate the discomfort of that tongue.

I loved my original Altra Torin and when I got these, that tongue was killer. Unfortunately I bought 2 at a pop because I was trying to alternate my shoes when I run and now I'm stuck with them. Have to wear higher socks to make them somewhat manageable but I shouldn't have to change the style of my socks for the price of these shoes.

Wanted so bad to love this shoe. Sadly I can't even walk in them, let alone run. This is my 5th pair of Altras, but after this pair I'm not sure I'll buy another. The tounge is so stiff and sharp that it cuts in to the front of my ankle. Also the glue is already separating on the front toe. I haven't even ran in these yet, just walked around in them the first day I bought them. Returning these to REI.

The tongue is horrible. The soltice x 2 is much better. The tongue is a plastic peice that cuts into your ankle. I did not listen to other reviews that said the same.

I have now run 40 miles in these shoes and my ankles are raw. I cut almost an inch off the tongue hoping to help since I missed the return window and it didn't help. I have had to wear bandaids and long socks to make them wearable. I have loved all of my other Torins so I'm very disappointed

I wish I had not worn these outside because I would definitely take them back. I have all types of ultras but I wish I had read the reviews before buying these! The tongue is the issue!

Dont buy. Ive had lots of torins, they continue to be changed for the worse. Need to size up nearly 1.5 sizes so toes arnt being smashed and the tongue and lace design seems untested.

I am a loyal Altra customer. However, these shoes are awful - I can't wear them. The tongue is super stiff and sharp and slices into the top of my foot/ankle. I ended up cutting off the top of the tongue so that I could attempt to wear them, but it is no good. I can't imagine anyone wearing these shoes. Significant design/quality control issue. I'd suggest you remove them from the market. I appreciate the opportunity to leave feedback for Altra, as well as for other customers. Thank you.

I wore the torin 4 and loved it. Bought the torin 5 and it's a completely different shoe. Hard as a rock, squeaks like crazy, holes in toe box, feels like garbage. Don't buy it, it's a garbage shoe.
