These were my first but definitely not last pair of Altra shoes. The extra room in the square toe box is fantastic. I now work daily with comfortable feet.

I'm not sure what elder magic the people at Altra uncovered to craft these, but I hope they never lose it. These are perfect, the cushioning is the most comfortable thing my feet have ever felt, yet somehow they still feel stable. They look great, they have plenty of space in the toe box, and they keep my feet happy all through my work day. I hope this shoe remains an Altra staple because it's the only casual/work shoe I ever want to wear for the rest of my life. More colors, waterproof option, and a mid or boot height should be next!

Nicely cushioned, lightweight and breathable. Wide toe box avoids any hotspots. Zero drop seems to take the pressure away from the knees. I have a closet full of of hiking running and walking shoes and for anything less then technical climbs or very uneven terrain these are the best of the bunch. Maybe the ultimate travel shoe.

I am a woman that buys men's shoes because I need a wide toe box and these shoes are amazing - it's like walking on air; they have helped with my pf pain too - my new favorite hiking shoes!

This is the Goldilocks shoe I have been searching for: looks like my poor troubled feet are finally home. Not too wide, not too narrow, not too spongy, not too stiff. These are JUST RIGHT! And no break in required. I tried them on when they came in and really haven't taken them off. Love these shoes!

These are ridiculously comfortable shoes right out of the box, as if I had already broken them in. My toes have breathing room and that extra padding under the ball of my foot is just what I needed (but didn't know). I like a wide toe box but otherwise have D width foot, these are perfect. This is my first pair of Altras, I will definitely be back for more.

I am an altra fan since the beginning, but these are a great fit. They aren't as cushiony as the Timps or Olympus but they have enough cushion to last the day. In fact that is a plus because I over supinate all the time causing the shoes to wear on the ends of the shoes making my ankles tire easily, but with the more neutral less cushion I am more flat and balanced on my feet than the more cushioned shoes! They look great in the office and on the trail! Comes in handy when you live in SGU.

I've struggled for most of my adult life finding proper fitting footwear for everyday use. I'm on my feet all day at work, nonstop, walking on concrete floors, and nothing has ever felt really good on my feet. Until I slid my feet into these. I can honestly say that I would buy this shoe repeatedly for the rest of my life if you continued to make it and never change it. They feel strong, comfortable, durable, malleable. They're absolutely perfect. Seriously, this is the one to keep going for the duration of your existence Altra. Please.....please. And thank you!

Love these shoes. Walk 5-6 miles a day and I prefer these by far in comparison to my Merrell Barefoot, Altra Paradigm 4.5 or my Hoka Clifton shoes. Truly my favorite shoes ever. Highly recommend.

My right foot is slightly wider than the left but broke in nicely. I'm on my feet a lot as a physical therapist and these are comfortable at work. The tread would be great on trails but haven't tried hiking in them since I don't feel like cleaning them. The black suede is very nice

Great base but the uppers are a little less stable. Cinching the laces helped and it's works fine for my medium difficult but rather flat trails. I wouldn't take them on a mountain trek but a fine trail shoe. And yes they're fine to go get a slice of pizza in.

Lone peak alpine is an outstanding oxford hiker(it's not really wide at all) It gives the appearance of that because of the additional materials the way they are constructed compared to, The lone Peak five wide, I would purchase and stock up on these Oxford hikers, Especially if they came in a mid-ankle version in actual wide width: with a Ergonomically-anatomically-oblique-toebox(design for) A normal human healthy foot. I like the color scheme matrix, (Terrestrial-lunar-Mars:) It has a bit of 1970s Burnt orange-rust- color, some green~grayish-granite. This shoe is also very nimble, Yet structurally sound, a generous toebox and forefoot, will afford stability, as I go Boulder hopping, & narrow ridge running, or just my quick jot to and from the local grocer, Solid soul, Although the ankle could be a tad snugger for my liking,Every single person fit is just a tad~ Different, My style is extra wide roomy 4foot & toebox, Snug laces from the instep-to the mid 4foot, And of course a zero drop or same elevation Footbed soul. I have up words of 40 pair of Altra footwear. The Lone Peak Alpine: Is a combination of three. The short-lived Grafton, The lone Peak 5 wide, Some elements of the Flawed design Tushar boot. Yes I like this model very much, Especially the color schemes & it is more human foot shaped, To fit a diverse population range.

Maybe, and I mean MAYBE slightly longer than a normal size 13. Absolutely comfortable and wide toe box. Cushioning is a bit springy. My first Altras and they feel great. I really hope the last!

This is my 5th pair of altras. I love them so far. Today I walked 18 holes around the golf course (7.5 miles according to my gps watch). Like walking on pillows. Plenty of room in the forefoot for my 74 year old feet. You can't run away from your feet so take care of them. My other 4 pairs are all size 11.5. The alpines are size 11 and fit perfectly.

First off, very fast delivery, ordered on the 10th received on the 12th. Sizing - I've worn 11.5 in Keens for years but wanted a lighter more minimal shoe with the same human foot shape and toe box. These are the ones. Tried Lems but didn't get just what I wanted, I have the Primals which have the right shape and room but just not enough cushion or support under my foot for me. Trailheads and Mesas have the right support but are narrow shoes. Found my way to Altra which I was not familiar with and these are perfect. Great wide toe box, Keen-like. More cushioning than I'm accustomed to but my feet are loving that. Measuring my feet in a mid weight sock they are exactly 27.9 cm or 11 inches, but I've always worn 11.5 and in narrow shoes like Nikes, etc. I've gone to 12 and even 12.5 in one model. But always 11.5 in Keens and now these Altras. Using Lems as a comparison these are similar to their Trailheads but with an actual foot shape and roomy toe box but zero heel to toe drop. Enough tread construction to make a good trail shoe but also appropriate for pavement which is where I do most of my walking. I'm not a runner so I can't judge them for that purpose but for vigorous walking, hiking, trail or street these would seem to be perfect. The material appears to be durable enough to hold up well on trails but add very little overall weight. These are light shoes. Just rigid enough support to keep your feet safe over stones and such. Now if Altra only made a light slip on with the same shape and comfort I'd be ordering my second Altras. I've been looking at Allbirds currently for that type of shoe. I am extremely happy with the Alpines and highly recommend them.

This is a very comfortable shoe(I would call it an upgrade to the Grafton Infused with elements of the lone Peak 5-wide(not as wide) Interior wise!! , But the exterior material gives that appearance. I could've ordered a size down. From a 12-1/2 to 11-1/2, But I will keep them, I added my own laces. These are definitely better constructed than most normal Altra footwear, The color scheme is definitely, Influenced by normal; eco-organic-Earth tones, Now if they can just come out with an ankle top and a wide 4foot version, More anatomically correct-oblique toe-box to normal human healthy feet,

I almost always want to wear foot shaped shoe. The casual Altra shoe was not for me. This shoe is great in style and comfort. I usually wear size 10. The feel about a half size to big. If I planned to run in them I would probably try a smaller size. I really do like them though.

Perfect Toe box. Better neutrality and flexibility than any Lone Peak models. If they could use a material that is more resistant to water degradation. You keep these dry and the shells will last you. You get these wet, and the fabric starts to wear fast at each width-end of the toe box. I'll take the shell, as I'm sure any other shell that's more durable would decrease this shoe's neutrality and flexibility. Regardless, the combination of flexibility, toe box, cushion and neutrality is superior to any shoe with a hiking/trail tread, in any model of shoe in any brand on the market.
