6 pairs in. I keep thinking it's something I'm doing wrong. Nope they just don't last. Break down soo fast. Nice shoe. I hope quality and durability get better but not looking hopeful.

These shoes feel great but like other reviews, the laces are way too short. Cost savings perhaps?!?

Picked these to use primarily for CrossFit classes, and have used for over a month now (about 20 classes). So far so good. Shoe fits like a glove and doesn't shift with all the side to side and variety of movements, and still feel great on days when we add in short running intervals. I currently prefer my Torin's for longer runs, but my Solstice pair is performing great in CrossFit. I'm always happy with going 1/2 size larger in my Altra's.

I've bought a bunch of shoes from Altra and loved most of them. This is the first one that was just super narrow. It also seemed to have a pretty stretchy upper, so not great for playing basketball, etc with the kids. Had to return and all I see is running shoes instead. There is a need for court shoes in the shapes that Altra provides. Please give us a choice in gym/court shoes!

I bought these to try as everyday shoes in my rotation and really like them. I'm not wearing them to the gym so no option there but I enjoy these when I wear them which is usually 1-2 per week. I do wear a lift in my right shoe and because these are zero drop it works perfectly.

These lean in the “new” narrow wide toe box shoe design. I usually wear a 9.5 but thought the 9 would be good enough. Only they are narrower compared to my other Altras Escalante. So I need to return. I’m so use to having that wide toe feeling

I've been looking for a shoe to weight train in and these are perfect. Relatively zero drop, wide toe box, and narrow rear are perfect.

I wear this for pickleball and it's the perfect shoe for that kind of athletic activity. I wear them with my work clothes too as they are comfortable and classy looking.

These shoes are perfect for my workouts. Comfortable, and feet don't feel sore afterwards. Would definitely recommend.

Love the way these feel and fit but I've had the heel peel off on one shoe and stitching come undone on the other, both happen within 6 months of having the shoes. Hopefully the build quality gets better but they are one of the few companies that make a 12.5 and I think they look as good as they fit so I will be likely buying again.

I have plantar and heel pain and these shoes helped me a lot. I found the shoes with too much cushion was increasing the pain. After moving to this shoe my plantar pain is gone and heel pain has decreased a lot. More nature way to walk. I wear them every now.

Had never tried Altra, but I really love the "no drop" concept - they feel great and I'm having "very confident workouts" (I'm 50+, male, active lifestyle and my daily workouts are a mix of high impact, core, weights and aerobic training). I was looking for a versatile lightweight trainer that I'd feel comfortable running a few miles in - the Solstice XT 2 hit the mark!

First off, I love these shoes and it makes me sad to have to give them 1 star. In so many ways they are exactly what I want in a cross-trainer. They've got the anatomical toe-box, zero drop, they have pretty good lateral support, the sole is thick enough for running on a hard surface like concrete but thin enough to be responsive for a wide range of cross-training workouts. Plus I like the look of the shoe and how light they are. This would be a 5-star review if not for one thing, after only about a month of use the out-sole is already starting to peel off from the mid-sole. When doing plank work I noticed that my right toe was slipping drastically sometimes and I later realized it was because the out-sole is already peeling off from the mid-sole up by the right big-toe (see picture). This is really frustrating because these shoes are pretty much perfect otherwise, but there's no way a $130 shoe should be breaking after a month. So unfortunately I have to give this a 1-star review. I love other Altra shoes and will continue to buy them but this one with it's different out-sole design is not worth it. For what it's worth, I think another out-sole design like the foot-pod for example, which has less corners like this where the out-sole can start to get peeled off will work better but it's hard to say. I really hope that Altra can fix this aspect of the Solstice in future iterations.

I agree with other reviewers, please please bring back the all black shoe. The white band makes the shoes look dirty after two weeks. Thank you!

The original Solstice was perfect, why make any changes? These are still comfortable and have performed well for me, but the rubbery pieces on top of the mesh upper are completely unnecessary and they detract from the flexibility in the toe region and breathability. Also, why make the outsole white? Now it looks dirty easier. The all black original looked so much better and had a nice black outsole; you could wear them as casual shoes, too. Please bring back the original design!

I have really wide feet and I do a lot of HIIT and weight lifting and while the size of the shoe felt better than other shoes it breaks down too easily. The side is starting to rip and the sole is peeling which is now catching on the floor while working out.

Bring back the HIITs. Such a marketing miss with foot shape and natural foot shape popular. I have 2 pair. One for work as an occupational therapist (the soles ripped after a month) gym ones ripped in less than a month! I have club feet and just can't wear Nike or any others because they are too narrow! Bring back a training shoe and not just running and trail shoes! In my opinion these are not training shoes. Worth maybe 80$ based on reliability. Love Altra because of the foot width, but this was a huge miss!

Provides the Altra foot shape you're used too but a little cheap. Parts of the shoe have fallen apart after a month or two.

I love the look and feel of this shoe. Unfortunately 3 weeks in to wearing them the tag began to rip off the upper on both shoes. Not sure why they don't use the narrow lace holder like on the Escalate. I've started passing back to my old Escalante since they are a better show for for rigorous exercise. Fix a few things and it would be a great shoe.

I use them for metcon style workouts and general strength training. Off the shelf fit is as good as it gets for my foot. However, I can't get a pair to last 6 months. I'm on my second pair of XT 2s and I had previously owned two pairs of the original XTs. The sole of the shoe peels off and I've tried shoe epoxies but they only extend the life of the shoes a couple weeks.

I really like the fit and feel of the shoes. They are great for short runs and HIT style training. The reason for 3stars is that they started falling apart after about 10 uses. Soles coming off.

My advice: Listen to the reviews all across the internet about them falling apart quickly. My husband wore these for normal daily use as a teacher and they were springing holes and peeling rubber pieces after only 3 months. They're comfortable, but terrible quality and not worth the money.

I have been a Altra true believer since 2012 in Orem, Utah. However, these shoes were not built to last. The sole of the shoes came apart within months of gym only wear. The same is true for my wife's shoes and she's not at all aggressive and they've never left the basement gym. Hopefully the XT3s are better but I'll wait until I see some reviews come in before buying a pair.

While the shoe was a comfortable fit, the bottom sole began to detach from the main shoe. At first it was noticed on one shoe, then after using a few more times on indoor courts, the other sole showed signs of detaching also, afree only a few weeks of use.

I thought this was going to be my favorite pair of shoes I've ever bought. They fit perfect, felt amazing, and let my toes spread out so I didn't get blisters. I was disappointed when after only 4 months or so of regular wear, the upper on one side near my pinky toe started to tear. The tread hadn't even worn out yet, and there was no scraping that happened on the shoe (you can see from the outer sole), so I assumed it was a manufacturing defect and filled out a warranty claim, but never heard back. I liked them so much I went ahead and bought another pair, but if they don't last longer I'll have to move on from this brand.
