The original Solstice was THE most comfortable shoe ever. Once they changed it, it was night and day. So much less comfortable, cheap feeling, loose on my feet. I bought every original I could find.

I have purchased these shoes twice. The first pair lasted about a year and a half. They were great - perfect for my needs and my wider forefoot. The second pair I purchased are already falling apart after 4 months of wear. Not sure what changed. I am using these XT 2's for the same workouts but now the bottom layer of the sole is coming apart from the rest of the bottom of the shoe. I am highly dissapointed that the new pair did not last. I guess I will have to search for another comparable shoe that is designed to last longer. What has changed with the design?

This would be my go to indoor gym shoe for all modes of cross training. They are comfortable zero drop that can handle heavy squats and jumping. However the bottom sole is poorly designed and does not accommodate any lateral movement patterns that involve planting and exploding. Both outer and inner sides tend to get stuck under the shoe. The edges of the sole curl under, eventually they tear and loosen the edges of the outer sole. This current iteration absolutely is a hindrance when playing competitive indoor gym sports.

I really like the shoe for many of the CrossFit workouts I do. However, I had to super glue the bottom on the shoe in several places within the first couple days of owning them. I am a huge Altra fan. I have there running shoes, gym shoes, and lone peaks for backpacking. The fabric on the running shoes pricked and the lone peaks are only good for about 300 miles on the AT before they started falling apart. Please continue to improve the quality. The concept behind the shoes are great.

They fit super well and look great. The issue I have with these shoes (and seemingly all Altra shoes that have the flat bottom as opposed to the "trail running" bottoms) is that the rubber traction portion which is glued to the base of the shoe seems to start peeling off almost immediately. I love Altra shoes for the wide toe box and comfort of the "foot shape" but I use these for volleyball and they always seem to start peeling the very first time I play in them. I end up needing to super glue the traction pads down and that does not work forever. I wish Altra would find a better way of binding the pieces together or find a way to make the bottom of the shoe one solid piece so that the traction pads would be more durable. TLDR: Super comfortable, look great, fit perfectly. I just wish the traction pads on the bottoms of the shoes would stop separating from the rest of the shoe.

Wanted a trainer with wide toe box like old Nanos, with minimalist feel. Few weeks and LOVED the shoe, but like most of you the sole started to peel off. Their service rep sent a new pair easily tho

I ordered these because they have a wide toebox. I was under the assumption that they were a cross trainer that you could also CrossFit or run in. However, they have an elevated mid strike. You should not ever train legs in the shoes. I need something that I can weight train in. There's too much rock in the heel. Otherwise a very comfortable shoe! But not a trainer.

Great shoe, but the sole started peeling off after a month. I have reglued them with contact cement five or six times.... Serious design flaw to have the sole not continuous. Otherwise great shoe!

Honestly one of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. Good cushion while still minimal. But the sole started peeling off within 2 weeks. Sent them back once, but that gets old fast.

Grear barefoot feel, its just sad that the material wears so fast for the amount spent. For reference I've owned these since the end of August 2023. Posting this Oct 22, 2023. I dont wear them dialy, and i take great care of my shoes.

The fit was much larger than my current altras, and there was much less paddingin the soles. I wouldn't get these in a smaller size as I want more cushioning.

Tread delaminates from the sole almost immediately, periodic Gorilla Glue to repair. Logo tab on tongue ripped out the first week. The rubber toe cap on V2 presses down on big toe. V1 was better.

Want to love these but Altra has decreased the shoe volume(SolsticeXT2 and LP7) to the point that my foot looks like it is about to explode out of the shoe. The length and general width are fine.

A great gym and all around the town shoe. Very comfortable and good looking. It would be great if you produced the Men's Solstice XT 2 in Navy Blue.

Fantastic shoes. I can run and train in these, then look stylish in the white version on the streets (per my teenagers). Thumbs up.

Checked English grammar: "The previously XT model was 1000x times better. It had an all-black design, including the soles. The overall grip and support were better. The width seems a little bigger as well. I should have stocked up on the old model and bought like five pairs, then kept replacing them when they wore out too much."

Love the feel of them but the sole started to peel off. The rest of the shoe is in great condition. They were nice enough to replace but I may run into the same problem down the road.

I love this shoe out of the box. But here are the issues: 1. The sewn tag starts to rip off almost immediately and you need to be very careful untying them. 2. The whites look amazing new, but are impossible to keep clean. Even washing them, the mesh takes on a dull grey. 3. The soles start to peel 4. impossible to find shoelace replacement 5. Rounded shoelaces rub and become loose or untied fairly easily.

I have a pair of the XT and the newer XT2 and the difference is definitely noticeable, unfortunately not in a good way. The new XT2 looks and feels cheaper and the upper tongue is a bit much.

First off... I love the look and feel of Altra shoes. I like the natural shape of their toebox and the support that they offer. I've worn these and Lone Peak's and with both, I have the same issue, the sole wears too fast. I'd love it if Altra would offer these with a Vibram or Gore-Tex sole... or something more durable.
