Had never tried Altra, but I really love the "no drop" concept - they feel great and I'm having "very confident workouts" (I'm 50+, male, active lifestyle and my daily workouts are a mix of high impact, core, weights and aerobic training). I was looking for a versatile lightweight trainer that I'd feel comfortable running a few miles in - the Solstice XT 2 hit the mark!

I am on my second park of Solstice XT 2's. I am mainly a CrossFit athlete. The Solstice are perfect for everything except for rope climbs. The rope will shred the sole of the shoe. However, as a cross trainer, they are perfect. Plenty of cushion for up to 10k road/gravel runs and hundreds of double unders, but sturdy enough to provide a solid platform for heavy power and Olympic lifts. Just make sure you bring your Metcons in for rope climb days.

Great shoe. Clean look. I wear them at work, for travel and leisure wear. Feels like I'm walking barefoot. My wife has two pair. One for 9 Rounds kick boxing and one pair for everyday shoes. Great show to help build up your arch strength.

I will like to highlight that I was interested on this shoes because Mark Bell Power Project Podcast. This shoes are game changing I love them I don't going anywhere else to look for workout shoes.

I bought this shoe about 6 months after being recommended by my son. I have walked and run many miles in these and I absolutely love them. I am an avid cross trainer and these shoes hold up very well under all conditions. I really like the large toe box and they seem to be very durable. I travel frequently for work and I bought a second pair to travel in because they are so comfortable. You won't be disappointed!

Definitely the most comfortable running shoes I've worn. I love how much room my toes have and I have pretty wide feet so usually my shoes are pretty uncomfortable. I use these for running and just gym days. Definitely recommend

There are so few shoes with a big enough toe box. These are an absolute winner if you need width in the toe box. I also love they are minimalist - not over-padded. Crossing fingers Altea keeps designing like this one.

I got them for physical therapy and Tai Chi classes, but I might just start wearing them daily. Not bulky like my other shoes. Almost like being barefoot, but with a sole to protect my feet. Comfy.

Great shoe but don't love the black and white sole

The solstice xt is exactly what I've been looking for! It looks sleek and athletic so I can wear it as my daily shoe! I love the smaller cushioned bed! I'm not a runner, but I am someone who greatly values a zero drop and wider toe box. My toes have widened out after just 3 months of daily wear and they feel great and I feel more stable in my workouts! Altra, thank you so much for making this shoe. There is no one else on the market making a zero drop daily shoes with a wider toe box. They all go too minimal on the shoes cushion and so I don't buy them. Please consider making more sneakers such as your Cayd line with more colors like grey and white with a much smaller sole. Again Thank you for making the solstice xt!!!

Great for weightlifting. Great for running marathons. Great for walking around. Great for everyday! I love this shoe. Roomy in the toe box, light weight, comfy zero drop feel. I have no complaints about this shoe. Helped me run sub 4 in the SF marathon. The upper is breathable and comfy and the tread offers great protection on the roads without taking away from letting my feet feel the ground. Just buy the shoe, you won't regret it.

I Love this shoe. I wear them to walk the dog, run (< 4 miles), and lift. The design is definitely an improvement over the previous model. They have just slightly more structure and durability, which is great. My one complaint is that the style is lacking and there aren't a lot of choices. If they were black with a gum sole (like the Reebok Nanos) I would by 10 pairs! In my opinion the women's black shoes are better looking than the men's. I still love them and hope Altra doesn't stop making this model.

Not sure why all the low reviews. I love this shoe so far. I've been wearing for about 3 days and they feel great. Great fit and looks good.

I wear these shoes for every workout. They feel great during heavy lifting, conditioning, etc. I picked the white ones and want to get a second pair but in black.

I actually use these as my most common running shoe. I've put many, many, many miles on them. I'm afraid to buy a new pair because these are so perfect. Minimal and perfect

I wear at work where I am on my feet and moving around most of the day. I prefer minimal cushion so these work really well, and the venting helps keep the feet cool and comfortable.

This is a great shoe for lateral movements - great grip and traction! Anyone looking for a cross training shoe look no further. This is the shoe for you! Cheers!

I love this shoe. Bought two of them. Hoping for more colors that aren't too flashy. Otherwise, my all time favorite!

Great shoes

I really like the cross trainers XL, but only comes in black or white. Boring, can't you come up with different colors and keep the same quality?

So thankful that Altra has at least one style that doesn't have an overbuilt sole. Please, please keep this style in production. Not sure why it's the only minimal option from a zero drop brand but very happy it exists. This style is branded as a training shoe but in my opinion it's the only great pavement running shoe on offer.

Being a podiatrist with very wide feet and arthritis in my big toe joint I am constantly searching for a better fitting shoe. Finally this shoe fits the bill. This shoe is designed to follow the natural widening of our forefoot. So smart. I do weight lifting and CrossFit workouts everyday and this shoe delivers. It has the perfect blend of stability and cushioning resulting in efficient comfortable workouts. Too much cushioning will lead to instability and injuries. So happy I finally found this company. Can't wait to try some of their other shoes.

This shoe is made for TRAINING! That includes lifting heavy weights when the situation calls for it. Those who say it needs to be more cushioned are clearly not cross training. This shoe has the perfect balance of everything. If it were too wide, it would feel sloppy and probably cause injury during fast lateral movements. I don't know how ALTRA does it, but it's soft enough to run a 10k but still firm enough for heavy deadlifts. The construction and materials are durable and comfortable. The only negative is that we need more colors.
