Feel a little chunky and heavy compared to the casadia 14s I have that I love. The width is very narrow compared to its predecessor causing metatarsal pain. Not super impressed. And I'm a die hard brooks fan!

I wear these to walk / hike. The right foot fits fine but the left foot is very tight for some reason. My other Brooks shoes do not fit this way.

Not for me. I like the design but the feel of the shoe was not comfortable. Felt heavy and it didn't seem to have much cushion like my other brookes. If it had softer cushioning I think they would be a keeper for me. Love the ruggedness the comfort just isn't there. I wore them indoor and outdoor. No muddy or wet conditions

Dead fish feel and the forefoot so wide I had to check to see if I was sent a wide width.
A big swing and miss by Brooks. It looks like brooks is moving out of the running show business and into the "sneaker" business.

There is a lot to love about the Cascadia 16, but they?re not working out for me. They seem built bombproof and seem to fit my feet well. But after wearing them both of my Achilles tendons are sore for weeks (and I almost always wear trail runners with 8mm drop). The first time I wore them was on a 1.5 hour pretty tough hike in the mountains. Felt great on the trail, but later that night the pain began. I took it easy for a couple weeks?no hiking or even neighborhood walks?then just wore them loosely laced and casually for a couple hours. More Achilles tenderness. I may try again in a few weeks, but I am not holding out much hope. I?m very thankful for the 90 day return window offered when buying from Brooks? website!!

Love the styling. Returning though. Way too long and narrow and tapering at the top. I really like the style...disappointed

Sorry, I disliked the color combo and returned them. Nothing wrong with the shoes, just ugly.

This is my second pair of Cascadia shoes. I am returning them. As other reviewers have posted, the inside has started tearing after only using them a month. I also feel that the toe box is not as comfortable as previous ones with my foot moving around more than desired. I had about 400 off road miles on my Cascadia 15's with no issues. I hope these issues are resolved with future models.

I've bought Ghost shoes and I bought these because they looked absolutely AWESOME and when I got them I couldn't even get my foot into them easily, loosened the lases, nope didn't help. Couldn't get my foot in without it hurting and finally gave up. Haven't returned them yet because I think they're awesome looking, but sadly I don't think I'll ever be able to wear them, so sadly I'll have to return them. Even bought up on the size

Heel slipping killed it for me. Even after using every lacing hole on the shoe, it still slipped a bit and made my heel hurt from squeezing the foot. This was after trying it around my apartment. I also had trouble with the top of the shoe at the toe bend digging into my foot and feeling uncomfortable, though it wasn't a deal breaker. That heel slip was, though. Yikes. I should note that the sizing was great, so that wasn't causing the slipping. I'll try to return these.

Orange mesh attaching the tongue ripped on first pull on. Going back, not as wide as the x wide are as expected but significantly different. Love the look though.

Toe box was too narrow. I run with Ghost 13 (not Ghost 14) because of the toe box size. I hoped that Cascadia's toe box would be similar to Ghost 13, but it is similar to Ghost 14 which is too narrow for me. Unfortunately, I'll have to try another brand. I look forward to Brooks going back to their earlier toe box size.

I'm not overly impressed with the last two pairs of Cascadias I've used on the Continental Divide Trail. My previous pair made it only half way across Colorado before developing significant rips in the sides, and the current pair has rips in the sides of both shoes, plus the material in the heal area is disintegrating.

I've owned dozens of pairs of these shoes, from the OG Cascadia 1's. I was super excited for this remodel since I wasn't in love with the the 15's even though I ran/hiked through 3 pair including the GTX's. They were very hard to get my hands on and finally did and hated them from the moment I put them on. The do not fit like previous versions. The foot shape they're designed on is different for this model year. I had to cut the elastic strap holding the tongue in place to fit my foot. Admittedly I do have a very tall instep on one foot, but this has never been a problem in any other version of this shoe. Once I modded it, it was no longer returnable, but whatever I wanted to try it out anyway. The cushioning is not great, and fit feels sloppy. After about 50 miles they feel super compressed to me, and no longer wearable on highly technical (rocky) trails. On the bright side, they look great, and now are my around town shoes. Skip this version and try the Caldera or Catamount.

I have tried to like this version, but they are terrible. I'm not sure who thinks there is cushion here, because mine are so rigid with absolutely no returned energy. They are like running in combat boots. Horrible.

Not nearly as comfortable as they used to be, felt like no cushion at all, very hard feel rather than supportive. Its been a few years since I wore them as the changes seem to be making them less of a good fit for me, so wanted to try them again. A bit on the narrow side as well.

Seem nice, but the sizing is a half size off! I wear a solid 9, or 42.5 and these shoes are not sized right!! Brooks has really had a production problem for the last few years with consistency in sizing. The old cascadias were great, however, the last three iterations are a huge thumbs down! ?

Sorry Brooks, you missed it on the 16. I've worn Cascadias since 4th version; some good, some not so good. The fit of the 16 is the worst...too big, too wide, too uncomfortable. Don't recognize it as a Cascadia. Wish I could grab another pair of 15s. Fingers crossed for a better 17.

This review is based on 50 miles of outdoor running on snowy roads, bike paths and trails in northern VT. This is my 3rd pair of Cascadia goretex shoes. Temperature range -5 to 30 Fahrenheit (January 2022). Typical weekly mileage: 25 miles
First of all, the good: excellent tread, excellent stability, warm (even on -5 degree day).
Essentially, these shoes are like good snow tires. If you are running outdoors in snow country, do yourself a favor and get goretex trail running shoes, it will change your outdoor winter running experience remarkably. This is the my 3rd winter running in Brooks Cascadias.
Now, the not so good: I got blisters on the my right foot. The right shoe was very painful over the dorsal surface of my right mid foot. I tried using different eyelets for the laces but no luck. Unfortunately, I had to return the shoes as they are simply too painful to run in. (Thanks for the fit guarantee).
BTW, I am a loyal Brooks customer. I typically go through 2 -3 pairs of Glycerin GTS yearly. I had no fit problems with Brooks Cascadia 14 or 15s or Glycerin GTS.

Loved Cascadia's, I have ran multiple ultra's with the 14's and 15's. However, 30 miles into the 16's and I have blisters on the inside of my big toe. I think this is due to the extended protection that changed from the 15 to the 16. Unfortunately, I will be returning these.
