As a 54 year old beefy guy (275) I've been wearing Brooks (Ghost, Glycerin, & Adrenaline) as my daily work / walking shoes for more than 10 years. To date, their 'size 13' has been really good for my challenging size 12 - 12.5 wide dress shoe size; a tad long, but just enough room across the widest part of my foot. These Cascadia 16's are my first trail shoe from Brooks, and here is my experience after one week 1) the shoe was too narrow 'around' the bulk of my foot <- the foot bed seems ok, however there isn't enough sneaker material to go all the way around my foot, so 2) I had to loosen the laces as far as they could go to get my foot in, then 3) the shoelaces became too short for me to tie. So, I got some 56" laces (vs. the stock 48" or so) and I can now wear the shoes. The only thing is, both feet slip just a little at the heel, while the overall width is still just a bit too snug for absolute comfort. Will I keep them? Yes, as some more daily work / walk shoes. However, they wont see any trail time, as I will stick with by regular Asolo boots, never been able to switch away from hiking boots. All in all, I still love Brooks shoes and will by more of their runners soon. Good luck!

Narrow inseam, go large. Ribbing doesn't breathe. Toe guards doesn't wrap around to protect.

Great fit and support. Good protection running on SB2. My 5th pair of Cascadia so I am a repeat customer. These are starting to make the squishy noise of just a couple of weeks. Will have to see how that goes. May be a lacing issue.

Great shoes , good tread design for mountains trails . I'm on my fourth pair. My only complaint is they separate the upper from the soul around the toebox. I only get four months or so out of them before they fail. I keep all the ones that don't come apart. Sometimes I get lucky and I can make a pair out of the ones that hold together .

They were a bit too stiff on my first few runs. Gave me some pretty sore knees and calves, but they are definitely more comfortable now that they're broken in. I have flat feet and have been using the launch gts for road running and cross training. These are a definite shift from the launch gts 8. But they do exactly what I wanted them to; they give fantastic protection, spring, traction on rough trail runs.

Fits snug. Can feel the lugs under foot. Aside from that, works perfectly. I am using this shoe "off lable". It is a trail running shoe, but I'm using it for golf. The lugs and pattern aren't that difference and they are much more comfortable than golf shoes by a factor. They are also less expensive and are snappier looking.

For my wide feet these are a okay trail running shoe. It’s has all of the support I need. It’s flexible where it needs to be. This shoe is good but not great.
I wish this shoe came in a 4E. I could use the room. I’ll keep them for walking. I don’t see much running in them.

Fantastic shoe and truly a hiking and off the path shoe, only which it offered a gray color.

Shoe is great in every way except one: the shoe laces come undone SUPER easy. Even making sure your double knot is extra tight isn't enough.

The tongue of the shoe is sewn to the sole of the shoe. I have worn 15W Brooks for years. I typically buy 3-4 pair a year. Never had a shoe constructed this way. It’s a great shoe, but it will fit more narrow than a typical Brooks shoe

With a HALLUX RIGIDUS and a nasty bunion R great toe, this is really, the first trail runner I’ve found that the toe box is wide and the midfoot is just right. The insole could be better, and I replaced it with an OrthoLite. 10 EE … thanks Zappos!

First visual impression, I like the color and the abundant, knobby traction. First feel impression, really liked the feel of the laces as odd as it sounds these are very nice stock laces. Putting them on, they are rigid and kinda tight along knuckles of the foot and they are stiff - feels like walking in roller blades. Going with that analogy these will bust up your ankles like roller blades e because there is zero ankle support. Kinda suorised for it being a cross country/trail shoe. After a few miles you'll feel the protective toe cover and will NOTICE the heel is designed to strike first, so tons of heel padding which could be nice but it's not for me because it puts extra pressure on my constricted toes. Again they run a quarter size too snug and are ridgid. This is my review after just under 2 miles. My feet feel exhausted and my ankles like I've been working with ankle weights on. Debating starting the return process.

Would love the shoe more, but first pair of shoes in a while that seem to have a narrow toe box. I do not have wide feet and never purchased wides in any shoe but these seem to definitely be on the narrow side. Mainly notice this on inclines and switchback trail running. Other than that shoe looks and performs well .

These are good looking and my friends who have them swear they are wonderful. I'm only leaving three stars because I followed the fit guide and ordered a size 10 because I wear a size 9 asics and that was what was suggested. I should have ordered a size 9.

I have run in Brooks for 20 years and although these are good shoes the heal cup is disappointing. The cushion in the back quickly slid down and the shoe no longer has the fit that was originally intended. Will still continue to run in the Adrenalines but would be hard pressed to get another pair of Cascades.
