This is my 9th pair of Cliftons. It's the shoe I always come back to after experimenting with something new, however, this latest model might have me looking else where for my next. The foot bed insert in this shoe is not comfortable. I feel the sharp sides of the insert digging in to the side of my feet. I've never had to buy after market inserts for a pair of Cliftons until now. Whatever changes you made to the foot bed insert for this version of the Clifton, please go back.

This is my second pair of Clifton 8's. I am a Physical Therapist and thought I have found the "one". Lightweight, comfortable, and well made. I put a good 7 miles on my feet in the clinic. After wearing them for about 1 month or so they develop a "squeak" sound when walking. Both sets of Clifton's have it. I want to buy more Hoka but can't stand the squeak.

Unfortunately, I didn't care for these and returned. While very well made, the feel was odd for me. A few reviews mentioned this, but these have an odd high arch, almost as if to force over-pronation into a more neutral stance. The feel is also a little blocky for me with the thickness and width of the outsole and midsole. I think these would be good for walking for people who over-pronate or like a high arch, but not for me.

I like the look and weight of these. I have noticed that when wearing for more than a few hours that they feel a little narrow and arch not hitting quite right spot. I typically wear Stinson ATR line which feels more wide and is a better fit on my foot.

Very comfortable shoe. Need to order a half to full size larger.

The toe box on the Clifton 8 is not roomy. I normally take a D width, but this shoe was tight. I am used to a 12 degree heal to toe drop so this shoe felt like my heal was deep in a bucket, for walking this did not feel natural. The material of the top of the shoe felt a little skimpy/thin compared to New Balance and Brooks shoes I have. Finally, when I walked this shoe did not have lateral stability which could lead to ankle problems. This shoe needs some work.
I'd also recommend:

Had to return the regular width due to the narrow fit. I also did not like the feel of the mid sole. It felt like I was wearing a rocking chair for shoes.

Great shoe but don't understand why you made the tongue so short. Bad place to cheapen an otherwise great shoe. I wouldn't get another pair because of this.

Using for half marathon training and road race. They are nice shoes, but the arch support is very stiff and on one side feels like it is stabbing into my foot. Maybe I needed to get the wider version, but the sizing model told me to go with regular.

After wearing out my Hoka Clifton 6s, I purchased the Clifton 8s expecting them to be the same fit. I've got wide feet and the old 6s fit perfectly. Unfortunately, the 8s seem to be made a little smaller and more narrow. Not sure if I'll try a half size up or a different shoe.

Toe box too tight. Heal drop felt too low to me. Arch support seemed very good. I feel this shoe needs better side to side stability.

Had high hopes for this shoe. Toe box is too small and the heel is too low. When my foot comes down I feel like my heel is in a bucket. They do have a lot of cushion. Sad to say I will be returning these.

I ordered 8.5 double E. it seemed a full size larger and it was not a Dbl E. Single at best. I ordered at the same time, some brooks gts22 i think? they were closer to 8.5 and were barely a double E. I kept the brooks sent back the Hoka.

The shoes seem good. They are quite as cushioned as the Hoka Speedgoats I've owned. The disappointing part of this purchase was that the insole fell apart within the first few days of use. The only happened on one shoe. The insole seems very thin and started splitting between two layers of fabric and then would no longer lay flat in my shoe. Had to replace the insoles within 2 weeks of getting these shoes. Not the quality I expected from Hoka based on my great experience with the Speedgoats.

The shoes squeak with every step I take and the shoe soles are massive! They look like platform shoes. The only comments I get on them are "nice old man shoes". While they're comfortable, I think they're too spongy.
Yes, I recommend you try them, but I don't recommend these shoes are must haves.

It made working on hard floors more bearable but now I wish the soles weren't already wearing out.

I recently went out for a walk/run and almost immediately started having pain in my right ankle. My regular running shoes do not produce the pain I was feeling in my ankle. I only went 4.25 miles so the distance was not that far. They fit and feel great, except for walking and jogging distance.
I was really hoping these were the best so far, but am a bit disappointed.

I wear the Clifton 8 as an everyday shoe and it's comfortable. The only reason I took off two stars was because they started making a squeaking noise when I walked and they're still fairly new. I would buy them again because they're comfortable and hope the new ones are more quiet when I walk.

Don't like the material, I just use it once and it looks one month old! Also is too narrow in the middle.
