Purchased the boots for my daughter since I have owned a pair for nearly 20 years I know they would last!

Nice boot for the wet/snowy season. I wear a size 8 and I ordered a 7 as suggested - which fits perfect. Instead of the 8" I probably should have ordered the 6" because the current one is rather difficult to get on and wear comfortably.

I really really wanted to love these, but they were so difficult to put on. I have narrow feet and ankles, but due to my high arch, it took a major amount of effort to get my feet both in and out. In addition to that, I found the leather incredibly rigid - and yes, I know it gets better over time, but right out of the box I found them uncomfortable. I was hoping for a boot that I could just throw on and off, whether grabbing the paper or running a quick errand, and these didn't fit the bill... ended up returning them for the Chelsea boots, which (for me) are way more user friendly, and so comfortable right from the get-go.

I originally purchased these boots in my true size 7 but when I received them they were shockingly large even with super thick socks. So I returned for a size 6 and they are definitely closer to fitting perfectly with thick socks but are still slightly large. Overall I love them and they are very comfy, them being large on my feet doesn't bother me too much at all. I can tell they will last a very long time!

These boots are very comfortable and look great. The rubber bottoms are awesome in snow and ice and I notice that I slip much less in these shoes as opposed to other boots. My only issue is that they leak at the point where the leather meets the blue rubber bottom, and they've dyed some of my socks orange as a result after walking through puddles.

While I know bean boots are not as warm as sorel boots, these fully fleece lined (payed extra for that) are not as warm as I had expected/imagined. These are good for cold november raking or barn work for up to an hour maybe. Not more in snowy weather.

Can't say if they are big or small giving as a Christmas gift. Was somewhat disappointed in the quality seems very stiff not much padding, think she will probably return them. Not what I expect from LLBean have always loved there products in the past.

Just got these in yesterday! Love the look and the length. The only issue is the leather is SO stiff! I know they will soften with wear but does anyone have any ideas on how to soften them faster? The tongue is so stiff that it grinds into my ankle and is extremely uncomfortable. Other than the stiffness, I love these boots.

I ordered these last month and I sized down per the instructions. I tried them on and found them to be a bit tight. I could just feel my big toes hitting the front. I normally wear a size 8 or 8 1/2 depending on the brand and 7 is just too small. I ordered a size 8 this past week and will finally be returning the size 7 ones that have been sitting in my closet, unused. I think the size 8 might be a little bit too big, but it's a lot better than having my toes hitting the front of the shoe. I also matched them up to a lot of my other shoes and they match almost perfectly so i don't think I agree with the instruction to size down. If I lived within two hours of a store, I would definitely make the drive to purchase and get the right fit instead of ordering online.

Excellent quality, and well worth buying. I have only one gripe, they should have more of an insole ie: arch support would be a great plus.

Several years ago I purchased Black sheepskin lined boots in size 9. They had the loose tongue, but were too big for my 9 1/2 feet even with heavy socks. I gave them to my daughter, and then found out they were sold out. Fast forward to 2017. I already own another brand of black lined boots, so decided on this pair since I don't need the extra lining for warmth. We all know what we love about Bean Boots, so listed below is what I don't like: The sewn in tongue makes it almost impossible for someone like me who has high arches to slide their foot in. I am hoping that with silkier socks I will be able to do this, but if not, sadly, this pair will have to go back. Also the tongue is stiff and bunchy and will take some time to lay flat under the laces. The laces are too short to put through the top hole and then tie with a loop. Finally, the sizing: Why can't you call a size 9 a size 9 instead of an 8? You're making the boot. Also, maybe you could consider offering some of the styles in the old tongue option, especially the ones that are sold more for fashion than protecting from the rain or snow?

I bought these for my daughter, but I tried them on for size because if they fit me, they will fit her. We have narrow feet. I found the size 6 narrow to be the perfect length and width. The insole is padded and comfortable. My only gripe is the leather is stiff at the front ankle and dug into my leg. The tongue is sewn as part of the leather upper, so I think that contributes to the problem with the new leather. I still want a pair for myself. I am hopeful that with some wear, the upper will be as comfortable as the bottom.

The limited edition boots are beautifully made, and the colors (plum and black) are stunning. I ordered down a size (from 8 1/2 to 8), as recommended. The length and width were fine, but the tongue and ankle support were stiff and bothersome. They may soften in time, but I chose to return the boots and may order a limited edition available in late summer in the 6 inch height, with a padded tongue.

I ordered the blue/black 8" pair of these boots and they are really cute. The tongue of the shoe is attached to the sides (eyelets), all one piece. That makes it tricky to get the boot on your foot because it just doesn't open widely enough. I struggled to get the boots on my feet and then they were too snug. I wish they came in half sizes. The second problem I had was what to do with that tongue of the boot once it was on my feet. It was hard to push the tongue down and put the laces through the boot - there was just too much material there for it to lie flat. If you buy they, order up, as Beans suggests. They are very well-made and well-priced for the quality. These boots are so cute, I will try the taller ones in size 10.

Initially the purchase was not a good experience. BUT they are a Great quality boot. I would recommend either buying your regular size show OR purchasing these boots in person so you can try them on. My daughter has a narrow arch and could hardly get her foot through the opening with the size recommendation made by the site. We had to exchange in person for the next size up and went with an insulated version of the same boot (really the best recommendation for upstate ny seasons).

These stained my jeans the first time I wore them - brown color rubbed off. I also didn't think they were as comfortable as I was expecting, but I think they'll be great in snowy weather. Hopefully they'll be more comfortable after more breaking in time.

My 14 year old daughter was so excited to order a pair of "Bean Boots" They were at the top of her Christmas list and her great, great Aunt was very happy to be able to buy her something that she really wanted. The boots arrived and they are awesome, she loves them but the wait time to get them was long. It took a month and a half for them to come in since they were on back order. That is really the only complaint. She loves the boots, they look great on, wonderful quality, thumbs up!

I generally wear a Women's size 7.5 shoe, and occasionally need to order my shoes a half size up or down. This is my third try and I have found the right fit! The size 6 hit my arch in an uncomfortable spot and felt a little tight with my Smartwool and hand knit socks. The size 7, medium width felt more comfortable, but felt too roomy and I felt like they made my feet look gigantic. The size 7 narrow, felt just right. Snug enough in the toe box to make me comfortable hiking in these without slipping inside the shoe, the arch support hits in the right spot, and they make my feet look like normal feet and not like I am wearing clown shoes. I just got them yesterday, so I didn't give them five stars since I haven't worn them outside or tested them while camping.

I bought these back in November before they went on back order, and I really like them. When paired with fuzzy socks, they keep my feet warm and dry during cold rainy days. My only complaint is that the place where the rubber meets the leather sits at an awkward place on my leg. It always rubs against my ankle and can sometimes hurt.

These have had to grow on me, I have wanted a pair for years...the only negative is the tongue design which makes it very hard to take on and off. I am sure the design was to add to the waterproofing but it is not comfortable to slip your boot on and off especially with a wool sock.

I was super excited to receive a pair of these boots, and so obviously when I got the chance to wear them, I did! However within less than a week of wearing them (normal wearing... I have only worn the boots out and about. I haven't done a lot in them) the leather on the front of the shoe, rubbed away and started to create little spots of discoloration where the leather had come off. Like I said, I have only had these for less than a week. This is happening on both of the shoes. The white stitching is also coming unraveled, and I am afraid that soon enough there won't be any white stitching on the boots at all. I have also tried contacting customer service and have had no luck getting through.

These are so in right now! I have had my eye on these boots for several years, and they always sell out (or are backordered) by the time I decide to purchase. I finally decided THIS IS THE YEAR. I bought myself a month-early-birthday present in November: Bean Boots in Tan/Navy! I wear size 11 Women's shoes, and ordered the L.L.Bean Merino Wool Ragg Sock, 10" Stripe 2-Pack in size Large to wear with the boots. My boots are a little too big (size 11), even with a pair of the Ragg Socks. Wearing 2 pairs of socks with boots in Seattle is a bit silly (lots of rain, not much snow). It seems that a 10 might be too small - and I didn't want to wait until January for what would be a backordered replacement pair. Instead, I opted to find different insoles. UGG insoles in size 11 Women's fit perfectly, replacing the thinner insoles that the boots came with. The additional thickness fills in the 1/2 size I was missing & warmth from the sheepskin is really nice as well.

I owned a pair of these boots back when I was a kid and (obviously) outgrew them, but always found them comfortable. I finally decided to order a pair this past fall and I was not disappointed. I'm a 9 1/2 and originally ordered an 8, couldn't get the boot on so I contacted LLBean and reordered a 9, which shipped quickly. While the 9 fit perfectly, I find it a bit difficult to get the boot on now that the tongues of the boot are sewn to the boot. After a few wears its easier, but usually only works with thinner socks as compared to thicker socks. Otherwise, they're very comfortable and keep my feet warm and dry walking across my college campus!
