I love these boots. I would give a 5 star if LLBean would put a liner in the foot area. Excellent boot for mud in spring or add heavy socks for winter wear.

Great boot. LLBean could make this an awesome boot with a little net in the foot section. Boot is comfortable after broken in and seems look very durable.

Unfortunately I had to return because they run very big which I wasn't aware of.

Great shoe. It's cold in New York so I'm wearing it everywhere. It does great in the puddles and in the snow.

My previous 6" Bean boot I have had for over 20 years. I purchased this pair because they are navy instead of brown. I plan to keep my old ones but I will add this one to the rotation. I ordered one size down from my normal size and it fits. I purchased a size 7(women's) in a wide when I normally wear and 8 or 8.5 (women's) size.

Fit great, I usually wear a 7.5 but wanted room.for my wide foot and thick socks. These do the trick!

Love them. Perfect for Maine bog land, rain, hiking in wet grasses, etc. Love the look, fits great. They even came in a women's wide! My only dislike is that they're hard to get on. Even so, still glad to have them!

Fit is great but cannot get the material under the laces to lay flat. It bunches up.

I've always wanted a pair of these. I wish I cold have gotten them in the prettier colors, but I'm getting ready to move to the Pacific Northwest so I figured I'll get them now in whatever color I can.

This is my 5th pair of bean boots, so I am a big fan. I got this pair in wide and overall its a mch roomier fit even sizing down as recommended and wearing heavy socks.

I ignored the advice to pick a smaller size than usual because I was afraid of my hammertoes bumping on top. But the boots really are too big. I'm going to try getting a shearling insole to take up some space.

Fit is good with thick socks. The leather is quite stiff, so when lacing tightly, creates hard folds which can get uncomfortable. I'm hoping that with wear, it will soften up. I have treated it with some neetsfoot oil compound which will help too, I hope. VERY well-made, just as those I had more than 40 years ago, and had re-bottomed twice! DURABLE!

These boots are so great in ALMOST every way, but I don't for the life of me know why they haven't improved the traction. I understand they are trying to preserve a classic look but these boots are legitimately dangerous without some sort of added traction like Yak Tracks. I have had these boots for over 10 years and they still look and feel brand new, with the exception of the bottoms. The already poor traction out-of-the-box has now become totally flat and therefore even more slick. Even so, I am a glutton for punishment and adore my Bean Boots even if they make me slip and slide everywhere.

Great fit. Then leather tongue is very stiff. Will take several times wearing to soften for a more comfortable boot. I would purchase again.

Love the boot but it is extremely hard to get in and out of! I have to completely loosen the laces and use a boot pull. I am sure over time it will get easier as they soften up.

Love the color. Very comfortable even after wearing all day. Kept my feet dry even in the rain. The only thing I would change is that they are hard to get on. Once on they fit well but I have to work to get them on. I ordered according to LLBean direction.

Good-looking boot; my heal rubs against the back, however. I excitedly wore them to work (a high school) and maybe thicker socks are in order whenever I wear these to prevent the rubbing against my back heal. Or, I'll attach some gel-stickers on the inside. The leather looks great, and I'm certain these shoes will last me for decades. I especially wanted something waterproof to wear on walks into the woods near my house and also to my kids' soccer games, where there's often dew. and hidden puddles. I normally wear a 6 1/2; I ordered a 6 and am happy.

Loves these boots, been wanting a pair. I usually wear a size 9 1/2 W ordered a 9W and they were still too long. Unfortunately they won’t work for me because my left foot ball is wider than my right foot and the 9 was too tight so a smaller size would definitely not work. Sadly I’ll have to return them.

I have gone through many pairs of L.L. Bean's 8" Bean Boot over the years.
I wear them just about every day. They keep my feet dry in early morning walks through wet grass; they're my work boot of choice for gardening and yard work. All in all they're great boots, durable, functional, comfortable, and the waterproof versions are WATER PROOF. Period. The only drawback is the problematic sizing, which actually serves to shorten the lifespan of the boot. I wear a size 7 in all types of footwear and can wear either a 6 or 7 in the Bean Boots since they run a bit big. However, if I get a 7, which is slightly loose (though great for heavy socks) the leather tends to eventually bunch up at the front. This appears to be because the size 7 boot is slightly too long and so my foot and leg don't fill up the space behind the front of the boot. When the boot bends as I walk this front area has nothing to support it within the boot and therefore bunches up. The stitching pulls loose there every single time. If I get a 6 the fit is better (though a bit tight if I wear heavy socks) but it's harder to pull on. I have to consistently grasp the loop at the back and pull them on. This is fine except the stitching eventually gives way at the back. In both cases, once the stitching is loose it continues to loosen around the boot and I end up with boots where the top is barely hanging on. I sent a pair back once to have them re-stitched but the new stitching soon came loose as well. I do love these boots but wish L.L. Bean would look into ways to correct this. It's becoming harder to justify paying this much for boots that I know are going to come apart before they should.

Great boots! I had a pair for 20 years and thought it was time to get a new pair. They are a little stiff when you first get them but that's to be expected. They are my go to pair of boots.

They are great, but the first time I got these boots, I purchased from the boot truck and was able to customize my laces... this should be available for all bean boot purchases.

I absolutely love these boots! They’re neutral so they go with everything and very classic looking overall. They’re VERY comfortable. Sizing is super tricky though. I normally wear an 8.5, occasionally a 9. The 8 is slightly big, but the 7 are tight. I decided to stick with the 8 and looking forward to having these boots for the winter. Although they are roomy, I will be able to wear warm socks with them. The quality is exceptional. Can’t go wrong with L.L. Bean!

These were excellent quality boots, would be perfect for rainy spring days tromping through the mud in New England. I needed something warmer though for the snow melt, so exchanged these for the shearling lined ones.
