I love these boots. I bought my first and only pair back in 1989 when I visited LL Bean while on a trip to Maine. I have worn them every winter since then. I do have to send them back next Spring to have them resoled. The upper leather area still looks brand new even after, 27 years.
I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a light weight boot.
If I had to I would buy them for myself again.

This is the third pair of Bean boots I've owned. The first pair were actually the shoe variety in 9N. I bought them in the 1990's. They were very uncomfortable for me as I have a very narrow foot. The seams near the front of the shoe rubbed against the front part of my foot and was painful. I eventually gave those shoes away. I was reluctant to purchase another pair until now. My feet have changed a bit and so have your boots. More variety and colors. The sizing is still a bit weird, though. I first chose the boot variety, blue color in size 8N. The shoe was a bit difficult to get into, but once I got my foot in, it seemed a bit short. Plus my orthotics wouldn't fit in them. So the advice to order one size down wouldn't work for me unless I wore the boots without socks( that wasn't happening). So I returned them for a size 9N. Perfect! Love, love, love the blue color and the fit is good. Now, I haven't worn the boots, yet (waiting for some serious rainy weather) to put them to test.

These boots are made SO well! They are definitely true to size, just make sure you go by the sizing chart. I'm a 9 1/2 and I was worried about getting an 8 but they fit absolutely PERFECT! I love them so much, best boots i've ever bought!

I love my LLBean boots! They fit great and are very comfortable. Great product! Just one note, if you have an extremely high arch like myself....do not down size. Order your regular size because you will need the extra room to get your foot in the boot because the tongue is sewn in. I highly recommend these!

I definitely love these shoes, they do run a tad large. So just prepare to get a half size smaller.

I bought these for my 14 year old. I sized down from her usual size 1o and ordered a size 9. They fit perfectly. She loves them and now fits in with the fashion of her friends. I ordered these on a Monday and they arrived on Tuesday. I selected 2 day shipping.

This is my second pair of Bean boots, which says it all, really. Decided to order the original colorway this year, as I was unable to get them last year. BUT, that proved a good thing as now I have the darker buffalo and the original. Always looking for a way to wear them everyday. We need a workplace friendly version - more dressy? Maybe not. :) Like all LL Bean products, these are made to last, with great pride and the best materials. Keep up the excellent work!

Last spring I ordered a pair of the women's 8" bean boots. I was aware that they ran big, because it says in the description to size down. I am between an 8.5-9 shoe so I ordered an 8. When I got the boots I realized I should have ordered a 7. I could have worn thicker socks, however, the purpose of these boots are for warmer rainy / days. With no trouble at all I was able to exchange my 8s for 7s and got them right away! They are the most comfortable boots - they do not need to be broken in at all. I wore them for the first time hiking around the sand dunes in cape cod and my feet were fine !

I ordered 2 pairs of these, 1 for me and 1 for my daughter. I followed the directions as to sizing and when they arrived they fit us both perfect! Also, I ordered and received within 2 days, just in time to wear for the weekend:)

LL Bean is a legacy in my family- well-loved and hard-earned products have been passed down from generations. So, when I decided to purchase my first pair of adult boots, I settled on the original.
I bought these boots primarily for work boots: in and out of orchards, warehouses, but also an office. I wear a size 8 in most shoes, but took the recommendation of sizing down to a 7, and they fit like a glove! Shipping took a little longer than originally stated, but I understand that LL Bean is getting into its busy season. The box arrived via UPS, in great condition, and the boots were well packed.
The leather is stiff, but the footbed is roomy and comfortable (great for my wide duck feet). I can't wait to fully break these guys in- on the street or in the woods!

I've been holding off on buying these for a few years now but I'm glad I finally did. Last year they were back ordered for so long that I couldn't get them.
They fit just like the directions say. I ordered a size down and they are comfortable with thin socks. I may even still have room for thicker socks once it gets colder.
Super comfortable walking around the city in. I look forward to a lifetime of wearing them!

If you are not used to rubber boots, these may take a short time to get used to, maybe an hour or two. They are a little stiff at the ankle at first and the steel shaft is firm against your foot. Try different socks to see how they will fit your feet. I add a slim but squishey orthotic and they are perfect.
I am on my 3rd pair of this model. Each lasts about 12-15 years of hard labor outside on our farm. I clean stalls, work in the pastures, walk the woods in all seasons including snowy winters (great grip!), get firewood, and ride horses in them. They are great! I love the look of leather boots but they never last and cost a fortune. So while I don't wear them to horse shows and events where fancy riders might disdain them, for real work outside, these are the best boots I've ever had. They really are waterproof and versatile. Wash them off with dishsoap, treat the leather once in a while and they are like new again. I have had them in taller, lace up styles (love those!), with felt liners, and plain. I love them all. They are true to LLBean sizing recommendations, which have changed over the years. My last pair was an 8. This year, I bought a new replacement pair in 7. Perfect size, very comfortable to wear and walk around in all day.

I heard so many great things about these boots, did a lot of research and decided to order. So glad I did! They are gorgeous and so well made. I have narrow feet and skinny ankles so I went with 6 narrow. They fit very well and there is still room. I wore these for the first time yesterday on my daughters field trip to a pumpkin patch. I was able to trek through the mud with confidence that I wouldn't slip! I am SO happy with these!

I debated for a few months on buying these boots. I am glad I got them. I am usually a size 9.5-10 and bought a size 9 Medium width and they are perfect with a pair of thick socks. I had no trouble getting my foot in the boot, like some others, but I do not have a high arch to my foot. I'm a daily walker, and live out on dirt roads. Those roads get pretty mushy, snowy, and mucky when it rains and snows and wanted a pair of boots that were waterproof and sturdy. Waiting for the weather to change so I can stomp around like a little kid in a mud puddle.

I have been wearing these boots for several years and have felt safe on snow and ice and wet grass while walking my dogs every morning. The only thing I wish could happen is that the heels could be replaced. The way I wear my boots/shoes the heels wear down especially on one side and if you could replace the heels then I wouldn't have to buy the boots as often. Nothing else wears out on them! They are great boots.

This is my first time owning LL Bean boots and I love them. They intersect at cute and functional in a way my shoes rarely do. They didn't take anytime at all to break in and my feet are always warm and dry on wet fall days. They do run large, but that enable multiple pairs of socks to be worn. All of that plus the quality makes them a great buy.

I can't express how much I love my 'Bean boots'; they look great with everything and will certainly (like all L.L. Bean products) withstand the test of time. It is important to order a size down- even with camp socks, my normal 8 had to get downgraded to a 7. Even though these are rugged footwear, you can work in them standing on your feet all day and be perfectly comfortable.

I have been eyeing a pair of LLBean boots for a long time, and I finally took the plunge. I have wide feet. Every time I buy shoes, the bone right by my big toes always suffer for the first few weeks of wear, especially any type of durable boot. This was not the case with my LLBean boots! I followed recommendations and purchased a full size down and in wide. I normally wear an 8, so I purchased a 7 wide. They fit perfectly! My feet have plenty of room for comfort, but are not swimming in the shoe. I could probably fit a thicker sock and be nice and snug come winter. And there is not pressure on the bone by my big toe! Couldn't be happier with the purchase.

I've been wanting a pair of Bean Boots for a while now and they would be beneficial for my job, so I talked myself into finally buying them. First off, the boots came a few days earlier than the estimated arrival date (a huge plus as I could enjoy them sooner). For the sizing, I was confused just like everyone else on what to order. I usually wear a 7.5 (Sperry's, Target shoes/sandals) or an 8 (Ariat Boots/Frye Boots) and my feet are pretty wide. I talked to the customer sales rep and they said to order a 6 as I told them I would want to wear thin-medium thick socks as my feet are always naturally "warm". Since my feet are wide I decided to go with the 6W. When I received the boots, I tried them on and they fit almost PERFECT, only slightly big at the end of my heel (as I have a wide upper foot and narrow heels--so this was no surprise to me). I can actually wear any type socks (thin to thick) which accommodates me working outside for my job (rainy summer days to cooler winter days).Overall, very happy with my purchase and the boots are VERY COMFORTABLE.

I've been wanting these boots for years, but whenver I try to order them (typically middle of winter), they are on back order. This year I ordered them early (end of September) and am so glad I did! They came so fast and are amazing. I am a size 8 and ordered a 7 in these. They fit perfect.
My only complaint is that I wish they came laced (they do come with laces, but just not laced in the boot)-- I have tried lacing them a few times, but don't think I did the best job. Might take them to a store to get help lacing so they are fit snug.
Overall, they fit great and I can't wait for snow!

I very much enjoy my new boots and have been eyeing them for almost two years. I really appreciate catching them on sale and I'm sure there will be lots outdoor adventures in them. My only negative is that while they fit my feet great, the tongue is stitched to the boot itself (probably for water tightness) which makes it a bit challenging to get my foot in. I don't really think it is a sizing issues but a material flexibility issue which may resolve itself as I wear them more over time. Otherwise, this is a 5/5 purchase for me and I'm so excited to finally have them!

Have just received these boots. They are well made, and the wide width has plenty of room for my foot with socks. The laces are a bit short, and I will need to purchase longer ones in order to lace them up.
