I purchased the tan/navy ones 2 months ago for hiking/walking our yellow lab. In the 2 months I've had them, they've gone through the MA state forests, the beaches (we walk our sandy, rocky beach every weekend), cobblestone streets, and muddy dirt roads throughout all kinds of New England weather (rain, snow, sun, ice, hail). These boots have kept my feet warm, dry, and I haven't slipped once. They are also so cute that I now wear them to work during rainy commutes. I am between an 8 and an 81/2 in regular shoes, purchased a 7 in this boot and it's perfect- even have enough room for thick merino wool socks on cold days. At first, it was a little challenging to get my foot in because the boot tongue is sewn solid, but there is a little tab on the back of the boot that helps me pull the boot up over my fat heels. After a few wears, the boot really molded to my feet and they are just so comfortable. Thanks, LL Bean! ~LL Bean boot convert for life.

I have been wanting to hop on the L. L. Bean Boot bandwagon, and I'm very happy I did. Miraculously, I was able to get the navy and pink ones that were constantly out of stock in my size. I love these shoes, and they are very well made (in Maine!). My only complaint is that they are somewhat hard to get on and off (but that's understandable with a boot), and the end of one of the shoestrings started to fray. However, I singed the ends of the laces, even though I will probably just get some cute pink and navy nylon cord and make my own shoestrings. I compliment L. L. Bean on the way the tongue of the shoe is sewn into the rest of the shoe to truly make these waterproof. Water cannot leak into the shoe from around the tongue, or anywhere, really. I am very happy with these shoes, and I know they will last a long time. My mother's pair of Bean Boots have lasted for twenty five years.

The most amazing customer service!!! It took me 4 tries, but I found my fit! Most of my boots (from other manufactures) are size 11. I first tried a 10 reg which was huge on me. Then I tried a 9 reg and 9 nar., too small. Last was a 10 nar., just right. I love them and wear them all the time. I find they work best with a tight liner sock and then a cute sock over that. They keep my feet completely dry.

I received these as a Christmas gift from my husband and love them! The way the front is sewed makes it a bit difficult to get them on but thankfully it has a pull tab on the back for support. I wear a size 11 and my husband ordered 11 and they fit perfect. The high ankles provide the support i needed for my ankle which roll inward. Tested them out on a cold wet day and they worked like a charm, combined with the LL bean wool socks my feet were very toasty and dry. They also look adorable with a pair of leggings. Would definitely like to buy more!

Got these for my daughter for a Christmas present. She normally wears a 7.5 and I ordered a 6 and they fit her perfectly! She is able to wear a thicker sock during our winter months and a thinner sock will be great for the Spring/summer rain showers we get. Very pleased with the quality and construction of these boots! Will definitely be buying again!

I purchased the classic boots for my 13 year old granddaughter and she absolutely loves them. My son had a pair that he had worn for 20 years and I am purchasing him a pair also. Thank you, L L Bean for your consistent quality!

Sizing guide was daunting but I usually wear a size 6.5, so I ordered the 6 medium width. They fit perfect! (I'm also wearing the L.L. Bean camp socks).

Love these shoes! I am a size 9 1/2-10 and ordered the 9. Its a little roomy with thin socks but perfect with thick ones. I found you need a good pair of boot socks for these shoes to feel perfect otherwise you could get some red marks/blisters. Very VERY happy with purchase! The navy, green is soooo nice.

They are about a size bigger so order accordingly. I can still fit two pairs of alpaca socks in my one size smaller than I normally take. My feet are warm and dry with plenty of wiggle room for my toes.

This is the first boot I've had on my feet that dont feel and look like men's snowboard boots being made for women. I love them. I wore them in -12 temps and my feet were toastie warm and looked fashionable yet functionable. Kudos to llbean.

I wear a size 11 in all my shoes without fail. Do not order a size down in this shoe if you a TRUE 11. This shoe runs wide, so if your foot is "normal" and somewhat narrow, I would advise ordering the narrow. The narrow takes away a lot of the bulkyness as the 11 medium was flopping off of my foot. The shoe looks like a boat on my foot....but do I expect with a size 11 foot :-) nonetheless, it is super cute. I would order this show again. Customer service was extremely helpful in exchanging the shoes and assisting me with deciding on the narrow as i really wanted t own this shoe. If you are a true size 11, do order the size 11, do not order down a size.

I love these boots, but they have weird sizing. After reading several reviews to that effect, I contacted customer service for their advise. They were extremely helpful, and the size that was recommended fits perfectly. I'm normally an 8 1/2 medium. I wear my boots with fashion boot socks, so not extremely thick. I decided on a 7 wide because they run big but narrow. Best decision because they are super cute and comfortable.

I'm 5'3", size 6.5W, and the 6W fits perfectly with medium or thick weight socks, and even with double socks for very cold weather, with or without a shearling insert. The back inside of the boot where the rubber meets the leather can rub against the back of my heel on the tendon, but thicker socks eliminate the problem, or you can put tape over the seam (it is actually covered with leather - it just depends on your anatomy if it's an issue). The trouble is I have a very high instep, which makes getting my foot around the curve of a boot that has no zipper an ordeal. As in, TWO shoehorns-one in front and one in back, and a lot of contortions and cursing. For years, I gave up and wore only the slip on duck shoes. But I wanted the boots, and when my snowboots gave up the ghost last year, I decided to make it work. Guess what - the instep is still a massive issue, BUT I wrote Customer Service and they said I could send the boots to the Repairs department at Bean, and THEY WILL ADD A GUSSET! This will change the look of the boot - a gusset in a boot means they cut the leather and sew in a panel of stretchy material, usually black or dark brown, that makes it easier to get the boot on. I've had this done before to other boots, but I had no idea Bean would/could do it. I love my BBs, and I hope this helps anyone with the same frustrating issue! NOTE: this solution was offered for my un-lined boots - I don't know if it is also possible for shearling or other lined boots - please check with Customer Service if you're buying a different style.

I put off buying these boots for about 5 years due to the cost. After my last pair of discount wellies gave out, I decided it was worth the upfront cost to buy something guaranteed for the life of the product. I've never been happier with a clothing purchase!!! I wore them for a day-long hike on the first wear and in my flower shop standing all day a week later - zero complaints! Since the turn in weather I've worn them almost daily for my commute/walk to work. The fit is as described, I normally wear a 7N but ordered a 6M; this has allowed for thicker socks. Arch support is good as well. I highly recommend the investment in these boots!

I have numerous knockoffs in the past but they can't compare. Comfortable from day 1- leather upper is a little stiff but I am sure it will loosen up. Love I can trudge through water without fear- great non slip tread for walking the dog

Fit my normal size 10 about a thumbs width from the toe to the tip of the boot. I actually had the 9 on backorder and accidentally hit the cancel button it would've probably fit but I wouldn't be able to wear my heavy winter socks so me getting bumped off the waiting list was a good thing. No insulation of course so the extra room is good for a heavy weight sock or a light weight winter sock if I wanted to wear them in warmer weather on rainy days a sweat sock will be fine but I don't think I will want to wear these . The tongue is sewn up to the top so my feet are sure to stay dry. No snow ,slush or rain will get in ( I love slushing through icee slushy puddles). I fell in love with the Navy and Kelly Green last year so this year l had to have them and they came five days early so that was a sweat surprise!

I initially bought the 6" but returned for the 8" as the 6" hit right at my ankle crease--made a great decision and LOVE the 8"! I typically wear an 8.5 in dress shoes/flats, 9 in tennis shoes; I sized down as recommended and bought an 8 and they fit perfectly. Unlike the Sperry's and another expensive brand that I tried on, I couldn't feel the line where the leather meets the rubber at all. I also really like that they actually have arch support, unlike the other two brands of duck boots I tried on.

Bought these for my daughter who has always wanted a pair. She was beyond thrilled with them! She wears a 7 1/2 and I bought her an 8. With socks they fit just fine! They are also beautifully made (in the USA!).
