These boots were a Christmas present and they came just in time for all of the bad weather! These boots were perfect for snow storm Nico. They kept my feet dry and warm. For my office's casual day these were quite comfy and worked well with my outfit, got compliments all day! So thrilled with them. They fit just like the suggestion says. Get a size down from what you're used to. They'll fit fine with thick socks- promise!

These are the best boots ever. True quality product for a lifetime of use. I am a solid 8-8 1/2 and I ordered a 7 Wide just to give a little extra room. They fit perfectly so follow the sizing instructions as they do run one size large. They look tiny, not wide or boxy. There is a good arch support and they accommodate medium weight socks. Perfect for sloppy weather as well as winter cold. You will not be disappointed with this purchase.

How stupid I have been for resisting to buy these boots for years! I am so happy with them. They arrived just before another snow storm arrived which is unusual here in our area of Washington. They are well made, good looking and perfect. I added the cleats to them and felt safe while out walking up and down my steep hilly driveway in the woods. snow and ice covered, I went where my car would not.

I have been looking for go-to winter boots that are waterproof, durable and stylish. These are definitely it! With a rubber bottom half and leather upper half, these are simply ingenious. I'm normally size 7.5 - however, depending on the shoe brand, I can also be a 7 or 8. I definitely had to read the reviews carefully before purchasing. After reading the reviews on these boots, I went for size 7 and they fit perfectly. I got the regular ones - no insulation or additional padding. I've read that the sizing on those are quite different. I have been wearing two pairs of socks under my boots during extremely cold days and they're still comfortable and do not hurt my fit at all. In fact, there was no breaking in needed. :) As I've read in other reviews, it is quite hard to get the boots on because there's no zipping on the sides so I pull them up with the loops in the back. I hope that those don't eventually give out. I haven't heard any reviews regarding these types of boots breaking down like that so I'm pretty confident that L.L. Bean boots are great quality. Overall, I'm very pleased that these are actually waterproof and have grip at the bottom so you don't slide around in ice. Highly recommend!

I bought this boot in a size 9 at first, and it was too big. After wearing it for a year, I was allowed to return the boots to get a smaller pair. I normally wear a size 9.5 but the boots that fit me well are size 8. I even have a little extra room in the boots for thicker socks. The foot bed of this boot is extremely comfortable. The boot weighs a little more than what I'm used to wearing, so that was a little tough to adjust to. These things will be your best friend no matter the weather. I wear mine on rainy days, and when I have to shovel out my car. My feet stay dry at all times, and they stay so warm when I'm wearing thick socks that they start to sweat if I've been wearing them all day. My only complaint about the boot is that the laces tend to be a bit small if you want to lace them all the way up. To compensate for this, I've been wearing them without the top two eyelets included in the lacing.

Love these boots! I have been eyeing these for a little while and received them as a gift this year! I waited around 8 weeks to receive them, but it is well worth it. I am usually a size 7 1/2 and do not like tight fitting shoes. I ordered the boots in a size 7 and it fits wonderfully. I typically wear them with light boot socks, so my feet do not get too hot. Since I did not have any insulation added to them, I love having the boots a little bit bigger so I can wear thick socks on a cold day (30s and below). Figured this would be the best use of the boots, as I can wear them in our mild fall/spring conditions (50sF) and the colder (20s F) weather of winter. They are super cute, functional, and easy for this SAHM of two little ones! Looked and researched for a while and these were the best for my needs!

My "baby cousin" is 21 years old and goes to school in upstate NY; he deals with serious snow on a regular basis. Forget that my young cousin is an econ major ;) He believes in buying quality, investment pieces that will "pay for themselves." I took his advice, and got these boots. The sizing guide is spot on: I wear a 7.5 women's shoe, European size 38 or 39 depending on the width. I have a wide foot. Even in running shoes I wear a D width. I ordered a 6 B and they are perfect. No breaking in needed. I wear them in the snow and ran around for hours yesterday in the sleet; I almost slipped briefly, but the surface was stone and covered in frozen rain. I refuse to complain about the traction on a boot that is not made specifically for dealing with ice. Per my genius young relative's suggestion, I don't lace the boots up all the way; I've done that for years with another brand boot that I wear. It makes getting on and off easier. I don't tend to stuff my jeans into my boots, but my young cousin probably does bc of the weather conditions where he is. Worth every penny.

I've been wearing Bean products for decades and have never been disappointed with anything that I have ordered, and these boots are no exception. I live in the southeastern US, so I ordered the "unlined" model, which has worked out well in our temperate climates. I did struggle a little bit with getting the proper size, but Bean customer service was fantastic in advising me that I (as a male who wears a 7 1/2) should order a women's size 8 --- and that has worked out perfectly for me. You've heard it said many times before, but you cannot beat Bean quality and their customer service. Order these boots; you'll love them!

I love these boots! In case it helps anyone else, I normally wear a size 9, sometimes a 9.5, and originally ordered the size 8 in these boots. With Smartwool medium weight hiking socks, they were a little snug, so I returned the 8s and ordered the size 9s. The 9s are a little loose with the Smartwool socks (an 8.5 would have been perfect), but were a better fit for me.

The reviews say to order a size down from normal if you want to wear light weight socks and regular size if you want to wear heavier socks. I planned on wearing the camp ragg socks so I ordered my regular size 8. They were still too big though with the ragg socks. I traded for a size down, 7, and they fit great! I could even fit slightly heavier socks in there too. So, I say if you can't decide, order a size down from your regular.

I wish I'd bought these sooner! I purchased these boots in a size 8 (I'm usually an 8.5) in anticipation of wearing them with thick socks in the winter. They're the perfect size, and so comfortable to wear. Absolutely no water ever gets in. I love that the tongue is sewn into the boot, making a watertight seal, and how the wire in the laces keeps them tightly laced throughout the day. I also had a really great experience with LL Bean customer service. I originally ordered these and had them sent to the wrong address (dumb!). I called and the woman who I spoke to was so nice and worked with me to cancel the original order and put in a new one. Really impressive, and so nice to speak to an actual human being!

I ordered these boots for my daughter who normally wears a 9.5. The customer service agent (and website) suggested I order an 8. I did that and was very nervous until we received them and they fit perfectly! Love the boots. A classic

I'm from New England and now live in Georgia. I had been looking for rain boots since I moved a few years ago and could never find anything I liked. And I've never owned Bean Boots! These are so versatile and comfortable - great for rain or slush. I am usually a 10 and I bought a 9 - they fit great with a bit of a thicker boot sock. Beautiful craftsmanship, and I got them less than two weeks after my order. Thank you LL Bean!

I just recently got my Bean boots in tan and navy for Christmas and was so ready to wear them! Being from North Carolina and living in North Carolina the weather is so unpredictable you never know if it'll be snow one day, rain the next, or complete opposite. I wore these during the recent "snow storm" we had and they fit great and we're amazing in the ice. I was skeptical about what size to order and what width because I always had flat feet and a problem with narrow shoes. I ordered a 8 wide D width and with the L. L bean Ragg socks they fit great! They aren't too wide, but also not too narrow, they fit great! I walk around in them around campus and I don't feel like they're too heavy or like I'll get blisters from wearing them! I love them and wish the weather will stay more cold/rainy just so I can wear them more often!

I've just received a new pair in Raven Blue/Black and I love the way they look! My previous pair were worn to death after several years of use. While these particular boots are not insulated, they are still warm. I wear them everyday in the snow to walk the dogs, snowshoe, or play in the yard with my son. My feet are never cold even though I am the kind of person who is always cold. You can't go wrong with these boots!

I bought these to replace a pair of lower Sorel boots that were a little too flat-footed with too shallow tread. These have a little better arch support, and between the heel and the tread, I feel much more confident in slippery conditions. The sizing is, as described, a little generous. I usually need between an 8 and 8 1/2 in shoes, sometimes a 9 in tennis shoes and boots. I went with the 8 Regular in these because I knew I'd always be wearing a heavier hiking weight sock with them. Every once in a while they feel a little too big, but without half size options, I know the 7 would have my toe right at the end. I also have an ill-repaired broken toe that requires a little more room; these provide it without going up to the wide size. Once the boots are on and laced up, I feel like the height provides enough stability for me to feel like they fit well--not sloppy but still plenty of toe room. (I ordered them online, and asking my husband--also a half size--how his fit, he said they were fine since he didn't plan to run marathons in them. I'd agree.) I have the reddish leather/black rubber ones. The colors are subtle enough that they go with everything; the black can look a little navy if you're going that direction. The darker leather looks nicer in both color and quality to me than the traditional tan (that my husband has on his Bean boots). These are certainly a classic, and for being this functional, I was surprised to come back from Christmas break and find that they are actually in fashion among the students at the university where I work (2017).

I knew before ordering the Women's L.L.Bean Boots, 8" that these tend to run one size bigger than size you would normally wear, so I was able to order appropriately and was very pleased that I was told correctly and they fit perfectly.

LOVE my new LL Bean boots. I ordered a size 7 and I normally wear a size 7.5 for normal shoes. Glad I ordered a 7 as a 6 would have been too short. The width is a tad bit wide (I have a narrow foot), so I wear thicker socks and the boots are perfect. Thank you LL Bean for an amazing product that is made in the USA.
