I've been wanting to purchase these boots for a long time and am so glad I finally did! After reading so many reviews about the difficulty in finding the correct size, I decided to drive to a store to try them on. It turns out they do run big. I wear size 8-1/2-9 in athletic sneakers and have a pair of Uggs in size 8, which I wear with socks. In this L.L. Bean boot I was a size 7 (with plenty of room). I also tried on the Thinsulate version of this boot and found size 7 was too snug at the toes. The size 8 fit better. I ultimately chose the original boot (in size 7) so I can wear all year (heavy socks in snow) and felt it was more comfortable for what I intended to use them for. I may invest in the Thinsulate version next year to use in the winter. I also purchased a pair for my 12 year old daughter, and she loves them too. We both have received many compliments on them!

I did a lot of research on these boots before I bought them. I thought carefully about the sizing (I usually wear a 10.5W in running shoes, 10W in dress shoes, so I got a 10W). I'm happy with the size I got, because I do intend to wear them with some thick socks.
I enjoyed reading stories of how people own these for a lifetime. I also read countless tales of how they're always on back order, sell out quickly, and never go on sale- but I lucked out! I got mine super quick and for 20% off.
These look so cute for fashion, but I also wear them while doing yard work and intend to wear them in the rain and snow. These are a worthwhile purchase!

I love my bean boots and recently bought this pair to replace a pair I have had for years. They are comfortable, warm, and keep my feet dry. They look great with almost every outfit too. Make sure to size down as they do run very large.

I saw Bean Boots on my friend's feet and demanded to know where she got them! They were unlike anything I had ever seen before, I just loved the design. Soon I got my own pair. Not only do they look good, but they are also comfortable and practical!! They are very light, doesn't really feel like you're wearing boots. Good all year round. I probably wear these the most out of all my footwear combined (when not sitting at work). Highly recommend these! Make sure to follow L.L. Bean's sizing suggestions.

I read over so many reviews, and took advice to order down a size. I normally wear a size 8 or 8.5 depending on shoe. I ordered the 7, but also the Shearling Inserts. Without the inserts, the 7 fits great. Add the insert, and it was way too tight. Luckily, I have a store close and was able to find the size 8 in stock for exchange. Be mindful, that if you plan to add an insert to these boots, order your normal size.

My daughter Mia loved these boots almost as much as our black lab, Tipit. The leather was too much to resist! But now, Mia is sad.
Any right boot, size 8's out there?

I just got my 5th pair of LL Bean boots. I have three pairs of the 8 inch style in different colors. My first pair is 4-5 years old; I wear them to walk the dog in the field and to do dirty outside work. They've been wet, covered in mud (and other field stuff), snow, etc but are still good. My newest pair is the black/navy combo which I love. I also have a 6 inch pair of boots and the fuzzy lined version which I wear when it's really cold outside. I ordered size six (normally wear a 6.5 or 7) and they fit perfectly with my thick Smartwool knee socks. I'm not sure why people are having issues getting them on their feet. I loosen the ties the whole way down and I have no problems getting them on or off. Even the newest ones that have new leather are not a problem. As you can tell, I love LL Bean boots.

I just got these today. They fit great. Ordered them a size down like I read to do and they fit perfectly with the sheep skin insert I got along with them. I'm really excited to try them out this fall and winter.

I've wanted a cute but practical boot for a while now. I had Hunters, but they always seemed clunky. I have taken these through the mud, rain, and dropping temperatures and they've been totally fine.
I went into a store to make sure I got the right fit, and they seem true to size. They are super comfy and I wear them throughout the day. With other boots, I would plan to bring a more casual shoe into work, but with these I can wear them around to meetings and people don't seem to care.
Lacing them up at first can be difficult, but once you start to break them in it gets easier.

I am so grateful that LL Bean brought back this boot in Navy/Bright Fuschia and Navy/Green -- two cute and preppy color combos on which I missed out a few years ago. I wear size 7.5 in shoes, and I sized down to 6 for these boots, as I plan to wear thin socks. I have owned the Black/Black boot in this style since 2012, and after 5 years of frequent wear, they are still going strong, with the leather upper only improved -- softened and conforming to my ankle -- with age and wear. These boots are my favorite thing that LL Bean sells, and these are truly the best, most comfortable boots I have ever worn. LOVE them!

I have been wanting a pair of bean boots since i was a sophomore in high school . However, I lived in FL and there was no point in getting a pair. I moved to SC for college bought a pair. I do recommend going either a size down or half size depending on whether or not you wear a half size or whole size. I wear a 7.5 and I got a 7 and they fit just right. I would also suggest to order them now because mine just took a week to get and I have heard and read that it can take from 3 months to a year to get them.

I've recently moved from Texas to Vermont and the prospect of enduring a real winter is sort of freaking me out. On the bright side, now I get to own and wear a pair of LLBean boots! I've always thought they were cool and now have a reason to buy some.
I bought the purple ones because they are awesome. Such a fun color on such serious footwear! Surely that will keep my winter-is-coming panic at bay?
They are really well made, very sturdy. I like that they are very quiet when walking, too.
Because I hear this boot sells out quickly, I didn't want to risk buying the wrong size; I ordered two pairs: one in a 10, my usual size and one in a 9, following the site's sizing instructions. The 9 fits perfectly!! (I'm sending the 10 back.)

So glad I followed the advice of the other reviewers & ordered a full size down. I'm normally a size 9 in boots and the size 8 fits perfect. Not much room for extra socks, but I did not purchase these for cold weather.
I was nervous about ordering from Canada but delivery was quite fast and there were no added shipping fees.
Very happy with my purchase.

Bought a pair of LL Bean Boots and absolutely love them. Ordered a size down and the fit is perfect. Originally purchased for nostalgic reasons (long time barn brat) but they are so comfortable that I can't wait for the cooler months so I can pull them out.
These boots are constructed of top quality material and LL Beans guarantee and customer service is second to none.
I highly recommend these boots to anyone wanting a top quality waterproof boot that is both stylish and confortable.

I wear an 8.5 shoe, and my feet are semi-wide...I trusted LL Bean's site and ordered a 7 in the 'Medium'. When they first arrived, I didn't think they were going to work. The leather seemed stiff and they felt tight, so I was concerned I would have to return them for a larger size. However, after wearing them around the house for just 2 hours, my feet have really settled into them and they are so comfortable! And what's funny is that my feet already hurt from walking around too much in my work heels yesterday, and I am also wearing LL Bean's thicker camp socks with the boots right now, and the boots still feel great! If I had ordered the 8, they would have been way too big - I actually have extra room to move my feet around in the 7 while I'm wearing the camp socks. I am also impressed with the company's customer service, as a side note. LL Bean has gained a customer for life.

I bought this boot in 2012, in all-black, and it was one of the few winter boots made by LL Bean in a wide width. It has held up well over the years. I would love it if this boot was made in either all-black again or the other colors--dark ash, plum grape, raven blue, red wine--in a wide width and larger size (like 10 W).

Excellent boots for wet, muddy conditions. They are nicely cushioned and easy to put on. As stated, they do run big. I wear a size 9, but downsized to an 8 and they are perfect with medium-weight socks. I highly recommend these boots!

I normally wear a size 8 shoe, and have a semi wide foot. I usually buy shoes that are wide thru the toe box for the most comfortable fit. I ordered these in size 7, regular width, and I have a perfect fit with med/thin cotton socks. I will be able to wear a thick woolen sock with these in the winter without a problem! Very comfortable to walk in. Upper leather is a little stiff but is breaking in fine. Beautiful color! Can't go wrong!

Nice that LLBean is expanding the colors of the traditional Bean boot. I ordered purple and black. I just wish they would have sent black shoelaces instead of the brown.

I love these boots! I tried on several options at the store and none of them were as comfortable. The Laces is what makes the boot for me. Other typical rain boots are usually tight on my calves but my feet slide in them. The laces help keep my foot in place and I can loosen them on my leg if I want. Definitely worth the extra money. I bought the purple and black ones, but wished they would come in a dark green and black.

This is my second pair of Bean Boots, and I love them so much! They are the perfect all-weather shoe--they work as rain boots or snow boots. They are super comfortable, even if you have to walk a long ways.

I am thoroughly happy with this Boot. I do a lot of wet weather walking through fields and woods with my dog and these are just the ticket. My trouble with boots generally is that they are too wide for my feet. Thankfully LLBean offers a narrow option. If they made a 12" narrow size for women I would buy them for the tall wet grass. I currently get around that issue with gaiters, but please make a 12 inch narrow for women, and I will buy them in a flash! Thanks!

I have wanted a pair of these boots for a long time, and I'm so glad I finally bought a pair! When I bought them the "small batch" was white, and I get compliments on them every time I wear them. As for fit, they fit the way LLBean says they do, but I have narrow feet, and they fit my feet just fine. I live in North Carolina, so they weren't really put to the test until I took one of my cocker spaniels out to help look for a lost neighbor's dog (he's a natural hunter, it's amazing to watch). It was December, so it was cold, and Finn (my dog) led us through thick leaves, a stream, a swampy cold bog at the edge of a pond, and on steep slippery hills. I didn't know so much nature was in my housing development! I had my LLBean boots on, with socks, and my feet were warm and dry, and I don't think any other tread could have handled all that any better. Just buy these boots. You won't be sorry. I even wore them to walk on sidewalks for several hours, and they were comfy throughout the whole walk.
