I frickin' love these boots. My feet are always cold, so during the winter, it's even worse. However, these boots have kept my feet warm and toasty, even with just thin high socks. For once, my pinky toes are safe, as they're always the first ones to freeze during cold temperatures. I've yet to try these bad boys out in varying temperatures, but I'm confident enough these boots won't disappoint. The fit is amazing, as well. I live in Canada, so there was no way for me to check my size in store (and the sizing is tricky!). If you're like me who overthinks a lot, the best way to figure out the right boot size for you is to actually trace your feet on a piece of paper. Measure the length and width of your drawing, and research online on what feet size you are; there are several charts out there that are informative. I figured out that my feet size are 6.5 and Medium B. When I received my boots and tried it on, the size was perfect. You won't even think about the cost when you know you're getting a lifetime quality product.

I'm in love with these boots! I am usually a cheap person but I splurged on these boots for myself and am now regretting not doing it sooner. They keep my feet warm during all my sons hockey practices and can also get me around while I do all my barn chores without getting soggy feet. They're the best.

I bought them for my 18yr old Daughter who's at Bridgewater State University in MA, She loves them, & this is coming from a teenager who hasn't worn boots in a very long time. I will be ordering more for my 24yr old, Daughter, another one who doesn't wear boots.

I LOVE these boots so much I have bought them three times. Not because they don't last (which they do)m but because I have lost them a few times and can't live without them. They are warm and waterproof, and have enough grip and tread that you won't slip. They're fantastic as rain boots and snow boots, and I recommend them to EVERYONE. I have worn them around Ithaca, NY where it is extremely cold and wintery and hilly, and they are fantastic. Definitely buy these!!

I finally treated myself to a pair of Bean boots and they did not disappoint. I usually wear a size 8 in casual shoes/fall boots and 8.5 in running shoes. I think I have average to narrow feet, but do have beginnings of bunions on both feet. I followed the Bean recommendations and got them in a size 7 and they fit great. I think if I sized up, they would have been too roomy for me. So far, I've only worn them with thinner socks (just regular, everyday socks), but I think I can wear a thicker pair if I want. I did go for the Thinsulate/Gortex pair, so hopefully, I won't need super thick socks. I do use orthotics, so I removed the provided insole and mine fit nicely into the boot. Only worn casually so far, and on one drizzling day and they were great. Working on breaking them a bit - the leather upper is a just a little stiff, but it's not uncomfortable. Overall, very happy and looking forward to fall/winter in them, especially when traveling to New England

Moved to Boston from GA this year - obviously had to have bean boots (or so everyone told me). They were right! These are classic and wonderful. I love wearing them and my toes are always warm.

These are absolutely the greatest boots. I find them to be true to size and are a very durable, waterproof boot, They are just as comfortable as any good shoe. When purchasing the Gore-Tex/Thinsulate boots, they are extremely warm on the coldest days. Great deal for the money. They will last and last, you may never need a second pair.

I wear a 7.5 - 8D and have wide feet. I ordered a 7D which was recommended but with socks were too tight. I then replaced them with an 8D and added a lambskin sole liner and with socks it's very snug but manageable. I'll see when it's -20 and I'm out blowing snow. I look forward to wearing these boots out!!!

Purchased from the website with a great deal. The sizing recommendations for the boot are to go down a size, so typically I'm an 8.5 but purchased the 7, which I was very wary about. They were pretty tight and snug when they arrived so I wore them with very thin socks at first, but after a couple of wears they loosened up and now fit perfectly with normal/thicker socks. My feet stay totally dry and mostly warm. Some days I've felt a bit cold but nothing a little walking couldn't warm right up! GET YOURSELF A PAIR!

Great boots! So glad I chose them. Boots run big and narrow (I normally wear a 9 and bought an 8. The size is perfect as I plan to wear them with thin socks, should you plan to wear thick socks I'd recommend downsizing by only a half size.

I have relied on LLB boots such as these new ones for at least 30 years and use them very frequently for safe hiking activities in wetlands and on the beach. Crossing small streams is not a concern and they grip well in mud and on steep hills. I was surprised at the cost of these new boots, but they're worth every penny! I also have a pair that are not insulated, and there's a dramatic difference. With good wool/elastic blend socks that stay snug, I just don't get cold or have rubbed spots with these well fitting insulated boots. Thank you LLBean. You help make the outdoors a great adventure in fun - not in endurance.

These Llbean boots are so comfy and perfect for those nasty weather days. I wear mine all the time. The normal fit is a little narrow, so the wide was perfect for me.

I have had a pair of these LLBean boots for over 24 years, and they are just like new. Now my daughter, age 20 in college, has her own pair so she'll quit "borrowing" mine. She absolutely loves them. They are warm, waterproof, and perfect for any situation.

I had these years ago, glad I saw them when I was in the store. Decided to buy a pair because I wanted dry, warm feet. Surprised that they run one size smaller. I usually wear an 8 but sales person told me to try a 7. He was right. I wear these casually in the winter when it's wet and cold. They look cute with jeans and leggings!

It took me six years living in New England and many below freezing, snowy winters to invest in a pair of boots and I could not be more excited about my purchase. These boots are comfortable for hours on end, keep my feet warm and dry, and are easy to clean. There is no reason to wait any longer than this moment to get yourself a pair.

I ordered a half size down and they are perfect! They are very warm and keep my feet dry. I was a little hesitant to spend so much money on boots, but I don't regret it. They feel like slippers with the best support. I would buy these boots again if I ever need them. Fingers crossed I never need to buy another pair because of the quality and craftsmanship!

I wear a 9 or 91/2 and want to wear these boots with heavy socks so I ordered a 9W with Thinsulate. They were way too large so I tried the fleece lined boots. Although they run wide, they weren't quite wide enough for my feet. I bit the bullet and ordered an 8W Gore-Tex/Thinsulate. I groaned when I got them, thinking they were not wide enough. I wore them around the house with thin socks, then thicker socks, and then added liners to the thick socks. They have stretched and molded to my feet and now feel as comfy as my old hiking boots. I can certainly see why people love these boots. My only caveat is that they are not designed for hiking over rough terrain. The soles are too thin and flexible, at least for me.

I bought these as an alternative to a flannel-lined Bean bot that was out of stock - and was afraid they'd be too warm to wear as a fall/winter boot. The temperatures have been in the -5s to 35s since I got them in December. The thinsulate has been pretty perfect for these temps - I get cold when I'm not moving enough, but if I'm actively walking, I'm plenty warm (I bought the bean boot socks to wear with them :)). The material is stiff - especially the laces, but I think they'll loosen up as I wear them more. I did order a size smaller than what I usually wear and they fit well, though I can't wear them with two pairs of socks. They're comfortable and aren't nearly as heavy to walk around in as other boots I've owned.

I bought the boots for my daughter. She has a distance to walk every day from the parking structure to her office, the weather has been very extreme and I don't worry about her slipping or having cold wet feet all day.

After reading several reviews I chose to stick with my usual size (10) and i'm glad I did. There is a little extra room in the toe area but this allows for heavier socks which is perfect. The color is a bit lighter than the picture but I absolutely love my boots. They were comfortable immediately without having to break them in and they have a noticeable arch support which is great for walking all day. The lining makes them warm and comfortable and I see these being my go-to boot all winter long.

I bought these boots last year for my adult daughter. I called them the Cadillac of Bean Maine boots because of the Thinsulate and the Gor-Tex, and we all got a chuckle out of that. Last year's winter was mild, and she never used them. This year's winter is more severe. I just got an e-mail from her. She says her feet have never been cold, and she didn't know how she would get through the winter without them. Obviously, I am really pleased. She does wear heavy ragg socks, and said nothing about the fit one way or the other. So I don't have anything to assist readers regarding sizing. But for cold, snowy weather - yes. Good boot.

These are the first winter boots I've owned since I was a kid and they are perfect. They take time to break in but were never uncomfortable at all. I wore them the entire day in NYC walking around for hours and they gave so much support and warmth. I love them! my husband bought the same ones this year and has only wore them a few times and he also loves his.
