We already knew the boots would be great - but the service at the store went way above and beyond. Our salesman got on the phone to the warehouse, and spoke to someone there who told us he could ship the right size boots (that were out of stock in our store and on a 6-week waitlist) the next day, He did - and the boots arrived a few days later, just before the snow arrived. Unbelievably helpful. I wish I remembered his name. Please tell the whole department thank you - it really made a difference for us.

I bought these for my 20 year old daughter for Christmas, at her request. As we had snow BEFORE Christmas, I gave them to her early and just wrapped the box. She is thrilled. They fit very well (she has wide, boxy feet, so it's not easy to find boots for her) and keep her warm and dry. She's rather tough on shoes and I think these will actually last her a while. Now my 18 year old wants a pair, too!

Granddaughter was very excited Christmas! Exactly what she wanted. Says all her friends have a pair! I've had a pair of these for years.

I am a student and love these shoes to walk from home to class through the Michigan snow. They keep my feet warm and dry and look stylish at the same time! Highly recommend.

I was prepared for sizing issues with their boots based on other reviews but was happy to find that these boots fit me perfectly. I would advise anyone with sizing concerns to measure their feet in a shoe store first. I found that buying a half size down worked perfectly for me. Other reviews also mentioned the stiff ankle. I live in Colorado where we have a lot of trails for hiking and these boots make walking on an incline, in the snow, at altitude, much less taxing.

These boots are THE boots of the year! They are comfortable and durable and oh so chic! Just as popular today as when I had them as a teenager! Now my 17 year old just got her first pair, and she wears them everyday. Despite the fact that we live in South Carolina and have very little extreme weather :) these are still her "go to" boots for everyday! We ordered a half size down for a perfect fit!!

Most of the people around where I live have Bean boots for the severe weather (Vermont), so several people recommended these boots to me. When I got them, I found that even though I had ordered a size down (7-->6), they were a little large lengthwise, and a little narrow for my feet (medium). However the width adjusted to my feet pretty quickly, so they're comfortable. They're still a little clunky, but I don't think these shoes are made in a smaller size than 6. Warmth-wise, they're perfect and insulated really well. Overall I would definitely recommend these boots!

Love the "bean boots"! Had a 10" snowfall over the weekend and used the boots to shovel the snow and get around town. Warm, comfortable and waterproof. Good traction, too. I debated with myself about spending so much for a pair of boots. Decided based on the durability of other bean products, the cost per year of use would probably be lower than the "cheaper" boots I considered. Love my new boots!

These are so perfect for anyone who is an avid cold weather hater. These boots keep you so warm and the water out. I bought them a size smaller than my regular sneaker size and I still have room to wear heavy socks. If you want good quality, warm winter boots (and a regular width foot--I say that because my mom has the same size foot but they're wide and cannot fit in these boots) then BUY THESE!

Mine are a couple years old and I wear them almost all the time. Living in a city where it rains ten months out of the year, my feet have never been dryer. Two years in and they still look brand new. After the apocalypse hits, giant mutant cockroaches will be walking around in these boots. The cost of these boots is a small price to pay for footwear that I'm pretty sure will outlive mankind.

I got these for my college age daughter and am so glad we tried them on for size at the store before I ordered them. She normally wears an 8 1/2 or 9 and we ordered a 7.

Having a long, narrow fit, it's always been difficult to find a boot that fits well. These fill the bill. Not only are they comfortable, they are lighter than other boots. I used them during our first snow in NJ - to walk the dog as well as to clear snow. They kept my feet warm and dry. I can't ask for anything better.

I have had this pair of Bean Boots since arriving at the University of Wisconsin four years ago and I wear them every day in the winter. Today it was -8 degrees and I put these on with a pair of medium weight wool socks and my feet were warm and dry. I also have a pair of the short Bean Boots that I love for the fall and spring but these are hands down the best investment I(okay my mom) ever made! I cannot recommend these boots enough!

I bought these boots when I went to boarding school in Mass. I lived in Manhattan, and when I arrived at school I needed sturdy boots for New England weather. I bought the Bean Boots that everyone else was wearing. I still wear them today in rain and snow. What is amazing is that I wear THE EXACT SAME PAIR that I bought in 1975. They still are in perfect condition!

I used to wear these as a child and got away from them somehow. They are warm without a lot of bulk and were comfortable from the moment I put them on. I'm in Missouri and winters can be very cold here. I wear them to do barn chores and can actually ride in them. Great product and when these wear out I will order another pair.

I normally wear an 8, and sometimes (rarely) an 8.5. I followed the directions and ordered a size 7. The boots felt a bit narrow and tight on the side of my foot, and my toes didn't have enough room. The customer service department was amazingly helpful. They sent me an 8 and a 7-Wide to try. The 8 was HUGE, the 7-Wide also too big - my foot could move around too much, which made my toes hit the front of the boot. After trying those on, I put the 7 on and it felt really good. I went with the size 7 - I suspect it takes some time for the boots to break in, so they don't feel amazing right away.

As a Florida girl now living in Boston, I wasn't sure what shoes to get for the upcoming winter - bought these Beans based on a recommendation from a friend and couldn't be happier! I wasn't sure what size to get as I have very small feet (normally a 5 or 6) and Beans run large. I bought the 6 Narrow and they fit nice and snug but still walkable with 2 pairs of thin socks. Could be the Goretex lining. Can't wait to see how these hold up in the snow!

i have 3 dogs (2 catahoula leopard dogs, and 1 red heeler) and there's never a day that we say: it's too cold, too rainy, too muddy, too snowy... or too anything for us to be outside for at least an hour, 2 or 3 times per day. these dogs, as with any working dogs, must go outside and run + play. in fact, they LOVE foul weather(!), so i need boots that can hold up to any foul weather, and Bean Boots for me, are it! this is my second pair, however this is the first time i got them with Thinsulate (!!!!) and today i had the chance to try them out... we had our first blustery, rainy, snowy, chilly snow shower wintery mix this morning, and my tootsies were warm and dry. my Bean Boots are the best, Thanks LL Bean!

first, you can trust de size chart. I wear 7-7 1/2 normally, and 6 is my perfect size in LL Bean Boots. second, TAKE WIDE C. I don't have big foots, but the medium is a little bit tight. those boots are very comfortable and look soo well !! I can't wait the winter to test those boots in snow, rain and low temperature.

I just received these a couple of days ago and have worn them in the pouring rain to walk the dogs. I love them. I need to take the time to put the laces in, but finally my feet are dry! I wear size 9-10 and I got a 9. Great fit. I like thicker socks. Worth the price.

While almost everyone I know has a pair of these and loves them (welcome to New England) I haven't owned a pair since I was a kid. After too many winters of stylish - and completely useless in winter weather! - boots, I bought a big girl pair of Bean Boots. Of course I'll love them, and of course they'll be amazing in notoriously unpredictable NE weather....so here's some feedback for those of you considering a pair: Sizing: I ordered my regular size 7 Medium Width. The boots have a bit of room in the toe but not enough to say they're too big. I tried them on with cotton ragg camp socks - comfy. I tried them on with thicker wool ragg socks....and that's why I won't be exchanging for a size 6! My regular size 7 seems perfect based on the sock choices I'll typically wear. The leather is a bit stiff but my friends tell me they'll soften up quickly with wear. Laces seem long enough to me. Tongue of boot is "attached" which I like; less opportunity for snow/rain to get inside. Great neutral color in tan/brown combo. Lining also attached and it's not bulky or too heavy. I can't say how well these will perform traction wise on ice yet, but is any boot completely non-slip? I ordered Stabilicers Lite in size small, tan, as an add on. Trekking across my office's parking lot is like navigating a frozen tundra so I felt like these were a worthwhile add on. Overall, I think these are a great investment and I'm thrilled they're MADE IN AMERICA! Go Maine!!

I am absolutely in love with my new 'Bean Boots.' I just received my boots in the mail, and couldn't be happier. Because this was my first footwear purchase from L.L. Bean, I followed the sizing instructions given, and ordered a 6M( I normally wear a size 7-7.5). The boots are a little snug when putting them on or taking them off, but I am sure they will stretch with wear. I am not sure how to feel about the movability of the lining, but other than that the boots are perfect. The amazing quality of the boots was only mimicked in the customer service I received. When I was unable to select the necessary width, a customer service representative was quick to help! They quickly tracked down the boots in my size, and almost immediately changed my online order. Absolutely can't wait for 'Bean Boot' weather!
