These boots were requested by my granddaughter, that currently attends UMaine Orono as a Christmas gift. Because the boot was back ordered, she was even more delighted when she came home for Spring Break to receive them. As this has been a long winter with much snow, this boot is a campus favorite. They are warm, comfortable, waterproof, and for someone that enjoys all styles very cute on her. Now if the second pair that I ordered for my daughter would arrive before the season ends that would be just great!

Great boots, which I knew they would be. I'm a Bean fan. I did have to wait three months for them to be made but it was well worth the wait!!! They fit perfectly. Thanks.

At first, I was quite nervous about the price considering it was more expensive than the others, but boy is this one worth the money. They are so warm and water-proof that it's easy to forget completely about the snow and cold, wet weather.
I bought mine in December and even though I was told I'd receive them by late February, they backed up a little further and I got the boots in early March. They came quicker than I expected though in regards to shipping! The wait wasn't bad considering what I received.
Usually a 7/7.5 but I took a shot and got 6's. Great choice. They fit perfectly and are very comfortable. I just needed to break them in and they were ready to go. I walk a lot in them too especially around campus.
Very happy!

Yes, order a size down, I'm a 7 ordered a 6 they fit perfect! These boots just the best. I got mine just in time for 2 snow storms in KY. They are adorable but more importantly practical. Worth the price, worth the wait! Oh, and can I just give a shoutout to the best customer service I have ever experienced!

First of all, I TOTALLY agree with KL from Brooklyn, NY (except I don't use them for hunting, as I don't hunt, but I can imagine how warm they'd be in the snowy, slushy, wet, cold woods.#
These boots are the WARMEST boots you will EVER own. I debated about buying them for a couple of years #as they are a bit pricey and I didn't really NEED them, or so I thought!!# These boots are WELL WORTH THE MONEY!!! I'm so glad I purchased these. I'm a regular LL Bean shopper, so I knew the quality would be good, and of course, they are top notch!! I LOVE the look of them and I'm very happy, happy, happy with them!! Here in Canada, we've had a pretty cold winter, so I'm glad they arrived in time for the tail end of it. If you want to be wearing these for the full winter of 2015/16, I suggest you put your order in within the next few months....you will NOT regret it!!!!!! Not to mention, they should last a minimum of thirty years!! LOL!! I LOVE LL Bean! Order a size down and be a bit patient #a couple of weeks or so) until the leather softens up some. : )

I went with this pair to use as a snow/hunting boot. They are perfectly warm, even when I'm sitting still in the cold. A pair of wool socks works with mine. I used them in the snow as well since they are fully waterproof, I wouldn't use anything else. The traction is amazing when it's icy out. I've used mud boots and rain boots before for both hunting and snow. But what my bean boots offer is more versatility with the pants I wear. Also, I can move my ankles a million times better than in mud boots! I always had to walk stiff in tall mud boots, so I love my bean boots that actually move with my foot.

I absolutely LOVE my L.L. Bean Boots! Ordered them for Virginia winters and I've worn them just about everyday! They keep my feet dry and warm and are very well made. Super cute and comfortable after just a few days of getting used to! They are my go-to shoes for cold, snowy days! BUT make sure to order a whole size down from your normal shoe size (I am normally an 8 1/2 or a 9 and the size 8 Bean Boots fit great with any thickness of sock). I have poor circulation in cold temperatures and these boots haven't failed me yet! Definitely recommend!

I live in New York City but needed some boots for a deer hunting trip on a remote Midwestern island. I decide to embark on a seemingly impossible quest to find boots that were appropriate for both situations. I try to be fashionable, at least for my style-oriented career, so this was a real challenge.
Enter: Bean Boots with Gore Tex and Thinsulate.
These are perfect. Traditionally styled, waterproof like you wouldn't believe, and WAAAARM. There are days when my entire body is numb except for my feet. Wearing trouser socks. Today it was 3 (THREE) degrees outside and my feet had no idea.
Now, wintertime in NYC is no joke...neither fluffy shearling snow boots nor low-profile canvas hiking boots cut it when you're splashing through disgusting, probably-toxic ankle deep slush puddles on every corner on your mile-long walk to the subway. One wrong step, one leak in your shoe, and you hate yourself for exposing your precious feet to the icy, trash-filled slop invading the street.
But...the worst weather is actually a fairly small window of a month/6 weeks, plus you also spend the majority of your time on a normal sidewalk, or indoors, so a giant ski boot on a regular basis is a little much. Still, you need something that can act as a real snow boot.
THIS BOOT SOLVES ALL PROBLEMS. ALL. (World hunger is probably next)
When I see people (teenagers in sneakers; fashionistas in heels/Uggs) tip-toeing around frozen slush puddles, I laugh to myself and go right on through. (Suckers!) When I need to go play in the snow, these still work. When I think it might snow while I'm at work but want to wear lower profile shoes that actually work with my sweater and jeans, this is it.
Also, I wore these in the rain, hiking literally through a swamp, lost in the woods, dragging a bloody deer carcass behind me. I was the only hunter with dry feet. (And the only one who got a deer...coincidence?). Two days later, on the streets of Manhattan.
BEAN BOOTS FOREVER!! Apparently they're trendy now, but I don't even care either way.
Bonus tips:
- I wear a 9/9.5 and a 9 fits perfectly, even with super thick socks
- I originally got the shearling, which are supposedly warmer, but this kind has the gusset in the tounge, meaning they're much more waterproof (for swamps and puddles)

I am normally an 8 but i bought a 7 regular and they fit amazing! The lining keeps my feet very warm, so I don't even need thick socks. They are so comfortable but I still need to break in the leather. They are perfect for walking around in the slush and snow and my feet stay completely dry.

I love these boots!
Fit: I wear a size 7 in flat shoes and heels, and an 8 in boots and sneakers. I also have narrow feet. I ordered the size 7 AA Narrow (after much debate between the 6 or 7 Narrow). It fits perfectly with thicker "camp" socks, and hugs my feet comfortably. The tip of my toe is roughly 1/4-1/2 inch from the front of the boot. I can comfortably move my toes and yet the boot does not slide off of the heel of my foot when I walk.
Quality: Excellent. I was pleased to pay the higher price for these boots, because I've heard they last quite a while.
With the recent cold spell in the Northeast, I've been mainly wearing the boots to walk my dog. My feet stay warm & dry.
I can see why there are 60,000 pairs of backordered boots! L.L. Bean customer service was so cute, they even sent me a mini Bean boot on a keychain a month and a half into my wait time. #Not sure if that is typical, but it was a pleasant surprise# I'm very happy with my purchase and will definitely recommend.

Excellent, of course. Get with gortex if you're dealing with a snowy city - totally warm (even in 19+ inches of Chicago snow). And, as recommended, order one size down (I always wear an 8; a 7 fits perfect - with room for think socks). I love these. Warning: I ordered them in October and they arrived in January - order early!

These boots are 100% waterproof, and the goretek and thinsulate do their job; my feet have never ever felt cold in these. Perfect for the -30C snowy Ottawa weather and slushy downtown Toronto. If anything my feet get sweaty when I have them on in class.
I've had the boots for three years, and they're showing minimal wear: just some creasing in the leather and the treads at the edge of the heel are wearing down.
These boots are absolutely perfect for winter and so beautiful :3

My bean boots were on back order for a few months, but they were well worth waiting for. I am wearing them right now because there are snow flurries outside.

Love these boots and they are definitely warm. Love the classic look. The hard part was getting the right size. I followed the websites sizing guidelines and size charts and the boots were still very narrow. I usually wear a size 6 1/2 so I selected a 6, which I could barely fit into and then I ordered a 7, which was still narrow and too long. I finally tried a third time with a 6 Wide and it fit perfectly.

I tried to order the L.L.Bean 8" Gortex boots from the company... all out of stock. So I called almost every store listed. I finally found the pair in the size I needed for my granddaughter in the Illinois store, they took my order over the phone, shipped the boots out, they were delivered as promised before Christmas!! Upon opening the boots, my granddaughter was so surprised and happy that we found them and could get them for her. But, alas, there was only one shoestring! My daughter-in-law called the store the day after Christmas, and they said they would overnight her a pair of shoestrings! They arrived Monday!
Thank you L.L. Bean!
You made a 16 year old girls Christmas a very happy one. And as for the Meme, I am a very satisfied customer! Couldn't ask for better customer service!
Happy New Year to all of you at L.L.Bean and I am looking forward to shopping with you in the future!

After reading other reviews I ordered a half size down (I am usually an 8.5 and ordered an 8) and they fit perfectly! Perfect for the wet, cold, and/or snowy weather here in Ohio. Exactly what I wanted! Great quality!

I ordered the raven blue size 6 and when I received them today it seemed they were small but that was mostly because I was wearing thick socks. I decided that since these were thinsulate in material they would be ok being worn without socks or with a sock liner. I put them on finally and then took my dog for a nice walk. They performed perfectly feeling quite snug and comfortable and giving where some give was asked for and being sturdy when stepping on surfaces like grass or rock. Glad I didn't return these and now I count myself as a lucky girl to have got these in time!

I exchanged an unlined pair I had for these and am so happy I did. These boots are perfect for the day or late night winter walks, in the rain, in the snow, in the mud...whatever it is, these can handle it and will keep your feet warm and dry. I treated mine with Snowproof Weatherproof wax and even after getting dirt, snow, and water on them they still look brand new! I was able to comfortably walk for about six miles in several inches of snow and my feet were perfectly warm.
The only unusual thing about them for me is that I'm usually a women's size 6 and I've always heard to size down since these can run large. However, I got these in a women's size 6 and since I wear thick socks, they fit true to size.

I'd wanted a pair of Bean boots for YEARS - since I was in college. I finally got tired of wet, cold feet (thank you, Portland) and decided to go for it.
I wasn't sure if I should order the regular, noninsulated boots or this version with GoreTex and Thinsulate, which is considerably more expensive. Eventually I decided to buy the pair I really wanted, with the expectation that they'll last for years. As soon as the box arrived, I put my new boots on and walked to the grocery store in a heavy rain. My feet stayed toasty and dry. I've walked 2.5 miles to and from work in below-freezing temps and my toes had no complaints.
I have extremely long, narrow, ski-like feet and it's hard for me to find shoes that fit. I normally wear an 11 AA and ordered a 10 AA in these. THANK YOU, LL Bean, for making boots in a narrow width! It's incredibly difficult to find footwear that works for looooong, skinny feet. Even in a narrow width, the boots slip a bit in the heel, which I expected, but lengthwise they are just fine - long enough without being clunky.
The leather is a little stiff at first but is breaking in nicely. Overall, I'd say that you shouldn't wait as long as I did to take the plunge and get some Bean boots.

I love these boots! They fit perfect no matter what I wear for socks, even with thick wool socks or 2 pairs of socks! I live in Northern New York and I like to go deer hunting - sometimes its about 10 degrees sitting out in the woods but these boots keep my feet nice and warm! Also, I'm currently in college and it's pretty wet and snowy up here but these boots totally protect my feet from all the elements. Never have cold or wet feet - even walking through puddles in below freezing temps! They are very comfortable and I highly recommend them to anyone who wants quality, waterproof, warm boots. At first I thought they were pretty expensive, but they are worth the cost. Best boots I've ever purchased!

I'm so glad I ordered these boots back in October.
Something I think super important to note about fit with these - the lining makes them fit true to width, in my opinion. They're also so comfy!
Usually boots like this make my feet sweat, and then they end up getting cold in the boot anyways. And I'm extremely happy to say that these don't do that! The first time I wore them was driving north for Thanksgiving - I was in the car for 6 hours and my feet were just toasty warm the whole way. Once at home, I wore them trudging around in the country over the holiday in nasty, wet weather and my feet stayed totally warm and dry! These are the best boots I've ever had.
Another thing - when I originally ordered my boots, they were back ordered until Dec. 4. But, I received them well before then in mid-November! So that was a pleasant surprise.

These Bean boots are the best investment you will ever make if you live in a snowy or wet and rainy climate. I am a size 7.5 and bought a 7, and they fit perfectly. I think that if you are going to invest in Bean boots, then you might as well splurge on the Gortex because they go the extra mile in keeping your feet dry and toasty.
I fell in love with LLBean after going to college in Maine and now that I'm back home in Colorado, LLBean is still living up to its name. My first pair of Bean boots started leaking and LLBean promptly replaced the boots no questions asked. LLBean produces quality American-made products with an unbeatable guarantee and these duck boots are no exception. I will be a loyal LLBean customer for life!
