Love these boots! Kept borrowing my roommates last year and finally bought my own. They are so warm and keep my feet dry, especially walking across campus! They are a little expensive but they are durable and will last a long time and are worth every penny.
They are also very true to size!
Although I can wait to see the snow, at least I know I will be prepared!

Exactly what I wanted. Super warm, cozy, comfortable for walking longer distances in not-so-great weather. Highly recommend! Also, I'm normally a size 9.5/10 and got the 9. They fit perfectly even with slightly heavier socks.

I just purchased my 1st pair of boots seeing that I will finally need winter shoes. Although they are an investment I can really tell that they will last me MANY years. They are excellently made!
My ONLY concern is that the shoe runs pretty big. All of the previous reviews commented on this, but i decided that I would still order my normal size. With thick socks on there is still wiggle room, but with normal socks they are WAY too big to wear. I decided to keep anyways but I would consider ordering a size down.

This boot is wonderful. A classic that is a must purchase. I typically wear a 9 1/2 - 10, sometimes wide. I purchased a 9 wide and it is perfect. A bit big, but just the right size for chunky socks and some toe warmers...which I typically wear out in freezing weather. Now I am ready for another icy winter and when I move back to Boston in the near future.

And when I say best, I absolutely mean it. From comfort, to style, I am 110% satisfied. I tried getting these last year around the holidays, but they were back ordered until March. Since my boyfriend recently got a job at LL Bean he picked me up the last pair of these boots in his store, and I couldn't be happier. I am typically a size 6 1/2 or 7, but the 6s fit comfortably with any type of sock. The more I walk in them the more they seem to fit to my feet. My feet stay warm but don't sweat in them. However, I feel like the sherling soles I got with them won't be necessary (as much as I want them to be). I now am wondering why I've never had winter boots. THESE ARE A MUST BUY! If you are considering them, just order them right now because you'll want them when them more when they are completely out of stock. LL Bean, you da bomb.

I was originally hesitant about buying these boots because they were a tad expensive, but I went in with the mentality that they will last me for a long time. I was right! I have worn these shoes about 1,000 times in all sorts of weather and terrain and they still are holding up better than any boot I have ever bought. I can honestly say from here on out I am only going to be purchasing LL Bean Boots because I know that I am getting my money worth and then some.

Just received my bean boots. When I opened the box and saw boots I just stared. I did not know anyone made quality boots like this anymore. The boots fit perfectly, thanks to Elsa in customer service who convinced me to go down a full size (I am a size 7 and ordered a size 6) I have been wearing them already with mid weight socks. These boots are worth every penny. Expect they will last for years.
Thank you L.L.Bean for your great customer service.

I was torn between getting the prettier navy boot or the more practical brown with the thinsulate/gortex. I'm glad I went the practical route. These boots are well built, VERY warm, and they look great. I bought them in a wide for my platypus feet and they seem very roomy. Looking forward to some colder weather so I can get some wear out of them.

I have bought 2 pairs - one for each daughter. LL Bean is correct in saying order a size down. Both wear in rain and snow. Provide room for thick socks as needed and definitely waterproof. Worth every penny!

I just ordered my boots (early Fall) and can't wait to wear them! I haven't had much time inbetween receiving the boots and LL Bean wanting me to review the product. So this is as much help as I can provide. I normally wear a size 8 and have a little bit wider foot. I ordered my boots in an 8 and medium. The boots are a little long, but I am not in fear of tripping. The medium is a little snug on my foot, but I still have room for light to medium socks and I should be fine. I hope this review helps for those trying to figure out sizes.

I LOVE these boots, a must have for the fall/winter! I live in Chicago and decided to go with the Gore-Tex/Thinsulate boots this year and am very happy with them. I went a half a size down and can still wear thick socks with them comfortably!

Having just moved to New England from warm and sunny Australia, I was told the first thing I'd need were a pair of warm, water-proof boots. I ended up having to use them (already!) on a particularly rainy day, I walked for about two hours in them, and they are amazing! Comfortable straight away, waterproof yet breathable. Highly recommend them to anyone and can't wait to use these in winter.

How have I never owned a pair of these before? They're incredible. I can tell by the craftsmanship that they'll last for years. I actually gasped when I opened the box. I mean, I've heard they were good... but c'mon. Are you kidding me? These are the nicest boots I have ever put on my feet. I can't wait to slop around in them this winter.
I read reviews and watched the video on sizing. I usually wear a size 9 or 9.5 and have a wide foot. I didn't quite believe the thing about ordering a size down so I ordered a 9 and they fit perfectly with a pair of medium weight socks.

I spent a really long time researching winter boots. I mean, a REALLY long time. I finally decided on these and then waited, and waited until they became available. And then I ordered the wrong size and had to exchange them. I wear a 7.5 and originally ordered a 6 based on speaking with a customer service rep. The 6 fit SNUG, so I returned them for a 7. They fit perfect. Slightly longer in the toe than my other 7.5 shoes, but they fit just fine with or without my midweight wool socks. My only complaint with them, and this is probably purely due to my flat feet and is an issue with almost every shoe, but I wish there were just a little more padding in them. I am still very happy with the purchase & thank Diane for crafting such a beautiful shoe! And thanks to the great customer service for a QUICK and EASY exchange process.

I was totally impressed with the craftsmanship and fit of the Boot. I did not know that people still made shoes and boots by hand. I would buy from you again. Please thank Donna, at the Bean Boot Team, I am in your debt for the quality of boot you have hand crafted. I wish you the best. Keep making the best boots I have ever had.

Perfect as weather changes from wet & sloppy, to frozen, to salty slushy. I was tired of boots that leaked or weren't warm enough. These have it covered. So warm that my feet sweat a little when worn indoors, but they keep my feet warm when it's -10F outside. Great grip on the bottom for icy conditions. Totally waterproof & not affected by the sidewalk salt. I have worn them in up to 2inches of water with no leaks. I love that the tongue is entirely connected to the sides of the boot so snow won't leak in at the tongue. Also the lining is sewn in so there's not problem of it slipping out. The bottom insole is removable for washing. Nice looking enough that I can wear them in to work and not as bulky/clunky/noisy indoors as other winter boots. I consistently wear a 7M women's and got the 6W; they're not too big for wearing thin socks and certainly warm enough in 10F with thin socks; if I were going to be outside for hours in -10F I still have room to wear a thick sock and imagine my feet will be the last part of me to get cold. I can see these holding up well over the years & love that they can be resoled if the bottoms ever wear.

I do not regret this purchase at all. These boots are the best boots I have ever bought. They fit snugly with wool, or thicker socks and keep my feet warm as I trudge through the colder part of the year. I ordered half a size smaller (I would typically wear an 8.5, but I got an 8) and they still fit correctly when I received them, which was something I was weary about. I would definitely recommend them!

I currently live in Western Washington and it rains a lot (like 75%-ish of the year!) and can get to below freezing temps occasionally in the winter. I wanted some boots that would be warm and waterproof, good for beach camping year-round and awesome quality and I immediately thought of the L.L. Bean boots! I stalked the website for a week or so until these became available in my size! I talked with multiple customer service reps as well asking about availability and sizing, and they were all so helpful!
I definitely recommend these boots! You get what you pay for - the quality is definitely worth the price. I also have a special place in my heart for Maine, and I love that these are still made in Maine!
Thank you, L.L. Bean!

I had to return a pair of Bean Boots that had broken, but it was the middle of the winter and I knew that I would have to wait for my new pair to come in. I ordered this new pair with the expectation that they would be back ordered until March. Then, in the middle of a snow storm, 2 weeks later the boots showed up at my office. Not only are these boots warm and waterproof, the tongue on the boot is attached to the sides, preventing snow from getting in around the laces. I ordered a "narrow" fit, thinking that it might be a bit snug, but it fits the same as a normal cut. If I could give six stars for these shoes, I would.

Love ,love, love these boots. They are pure perfection. Before my purchase I read a review that said to order a 1/2 size down, so I did and the fit is great. I ordered online & they were delivered asap. Great service. Great company.

I was looking for a pair of winter boots that would fit the bill of being warm, waterproof, and stylish. These boots certainly meet all 3 criteria. I was lucky to snag a pair of these when they were available for a few minutes and then went out of stock again. I am so glad that I did! Ususally my feet are freezing, so I also ordered the shearling insoles, which were on backorder. I got the boots first, and in the past few weeks of sub-zero temperatures, my feet have stayed toasty warm in my Bean Boots and a pair of Smartwool socks. So, I cancelled the shearling insoles. I have walked my dog in these through gross mud puddles and snow and they have stayed perfectly dry. The only slightly annoying thing is when I take my feet out, the liner kind of comes out, but not completely, and can certainly be slid right back in very easily. Also for sizing, I generally wear a 9/9.5 and can sometimes need a wide width. The size 8 is perfect and they are just SO comfortable. I did try an 8 wide, but they were a little too sloppy. I would definitely recommend paying the extra for the Gore-Tex+Thinsulate. I will wear these forever. Thank you LL Bean!

I have been looking for nice warm boots for wearing while doing chores, etc. I have bought many items from LL Bean over the years but never thought of trying your boots. I can't imagine wearing any other boots than these! They are warm, comfortable & keep my feet dry. They are also easy to clean. Thank you!

I have purchased BearPaw boots for the past few winters. I began to get entirely sick of having wet, cold feet. For Christmas I asked for these Bean Boots and have hardly taken them off since I got them. We have been on the coldest stretch of winter in many years (-20 degrees and colder with wind chill), and with a pair of boot socks on, my feet have yet to be cold. These boots run a little big- I am typically an 8.5 shoe and I ordered an 8 Medium. When first putting them on they felt a bit tight- this was due to them not having been broken in. By the end of the day they were a perfect fit. I have worn socks from fairly thin cotton to thick wool socks and no matter what I am wearing, the boots fit great. I have never had a pair of boots that I love as much as these! Thank you L.L. Bean for such a great product!

These boots have gotten me thru several snowstorms, walking around town, and even a 5 hour long outdoor sporting event - all with complete success. There's plenty of room for the extra sock if needed. If I was asked to request one adjustment it would be to make the laces a bit longer - minor issue. Do it - buy these boots and you'll be pleased with your investment!
