Tends to run a bit bigger so I got the next size smaller and the fit is perfect. Worth waiting for.

These boots are the best I have ever purchased. I have had them for close to 2 years now, and they still look and feel great. I have worn these boots on long hiking/day trips (even in the snow), and my feet have never been cold, wet, or uncomfortable. I have recommended them to everyone I know, and if you are looking at buying a pair, definitely get them!

I bought these for my daughter for Christmas. She yelled out to me this morning after a very snowy and cold day ... "This was the best present ever!" No need to say more.

I ordered these boots in Nov as a Christmas gift for my daughter. She commutes via public transportation and has to walk 2 miles to the station morning and evening. When I placed the order in Nov I was told, as I had suspected, that delivery date was expected to be late Feb. I was disappointed but knew the boots were worth waiting for. I was pleasantly surprised when they appeared the third week of January. My daughter's neighborhood got significant snow from winter storm Jonas so she was able to put the boots to work immediately for the first major storm of the season. She is more than pleased with having warm, dry feet for her commute.

I love these boots. I have wide feet so I especially appreciate that they come in wide. They are comfortable to walk in, and keep my feet warm and dry. I ordered my regular size and they fit perfectly with thick socks.

I live in Michigan and thought it was time to update my snow shoes. Ordered them in October and got them in January and well worth the wait. I am a 9.5 normal size foot not skinny narrow at all, however sometimes i could wear a 9 like summer shoes and a 10 sometimes in winter with socks. So i was really worried about what size to get. I ended with a size 9 Medium Tex/Thinsulate boot. The boot is a little long with thin socks but with ski socks they fit perfect. I took the foot pad out and my foot is the right size for the pad so i dont think i would fit an 8. I have very cold feet and my feet stay pretty warm with the Tex/Thinsulate. I am so happy i went with that because i feel my feet would be so cold with out that. So Size Fit is true to width because i have a very normal foot. Size somewhat small because i needed a 9 not a 10. I would have went with a 10 if i didn't read the reviews. Over all So happy with my Shoes.

I got these shoes for the winter and literally EVERYONE at my schools wears these. I debated getting these opposed to the shoes that cost like 140 and don't have the thinsulation gortex thing. But I figured in the long haul that I should just spend the extra money and get these and I don't regret it for one bit. I do hate that once ordering them in November I would have to wait till January to get them, but something I didn't know was that they wouldn't charge me until they were about to ship, so that was nice. I did have to chat with someone online to get the right size and she was correct when suggesting I get a size down from what I normally wear. I usually wear between a 9 and a 10 depending on the shoe, and since this was going to take so long to ship, I wanted to get the right size. So I went and got a size 8 with the regular width and they fit well! A little snug but I prefer this to them being big and bulky. All in all, for my first pair of boots from LL Bean, I am happy. I wished I would have ordered them sooner given how long it took, but the quality of the boot made it all worth it! So my only suggestion is by one size down, and order in the summer!

What else can I say that hasn't already been said? Buy these boots, not only for your feet, but also for your health! They keep your feet dry and warm, yet also comfortable. With these boots on, I don't have to worry about slipping or falling. I'm such a huge Bean Boots admirer that I make sure my entire family wears them. Even if it doesn't snow much where you live, get these boots if it rains a lot there.

This boots are perfect for Portland, OR winter, not too cold, more rain, lots of icy mornings and snow occasionally. They are keeping my feet warm and dry and always comfortable. Also looks good with jeans! The only minor issue is the top part was pretty rough when I first got them, so make sure to only wear good boot socks with them.

My two daughters each own a pair of these and I decided that I deserved a pair as well. They were back ordered but came earlier than expected which was a great surprise, and when I put them on I knew just why they are so popular! They are warm and toasty without being bulky and are, of course, great for messy days. No need to break them in at all. I am normally a 9.5 M and size 10 boot fits perfectly - even with a ski sock.

Just received my Bean boots after waiting 5 months! Arrived one day before the snow. I wear a size 7 women's shoe and ordered a women's 7 and these fit perfectly without the liner. The liner is a bit narrow for my foot. The Thinsulate is a nice addition because my feet don't seem to sweat as much as they did in my LLBean Rubber boots from the 1970's. They also keep your feet warmer! If you order these, just know you can remove the liners if your feet are a tad wide.

Love, love love these boots!!! I will tell you that when they first arrive and you try them on, they will be a little tight. You may have to fight to get them on but stick it out, because once they relax you will LOVE them. Mine took a week or two even, to actually feel good. I was even tempted to send them back thinking I ordered wrong, but I didn't. (You will need to order down as they fit big.) STICK IT OUT...I promise they will feel better after a week and the leather relaxes a little. They will be the warmest boots you'll ever own and you will have them for years and years!! I am into my second winter with them, and I'm sure I'll have at least twenty more!! Well worth the price! Awesome stitch work - I get a lot of compliments!! : )

Definitely order a size down if you are between sizes. I am normally an 8.5 (but I'll wear larger due to having wide feet) and the 9 wide was comically large on my feet. The 8 wide is still a bit long, but have plenty of room for layering socks--although I'm not sure I'll need it with the toasty warm lining! If you have sensitive shins, I'd recommend trying on a few heights. The boots aren't super flexible near the top (maybe they'll break in, but I suspect it's partially due to the sewn-in tongue). It doesn't bother me, but my mom (who tried on my too-large 9 pair to see if she liked them) found it too painful and irritating. If you have sensitive shins, the 6" or something more ankle-height might be better for you. My feet are happy and toasty warm right now. Thanks LL Bean for faster-than-expected delivery! I was grateful for the unseasonably warm Boston weather because these weren't supposed to arrive until January, but they arrived almost a month ahead of schedule!

I'm 44yo, have narrow long flat feet, and live in Wisconsin. I have no good reason that I put off buying my Goretex lined duck boots until now. They are warm, dry, and comfortably structured on the sole to provide my flat feet with support that doesn't hurt. I recommend breaking them in by wearing them for a few hours at a time the first week so your shins can get accustomed to the firmness of the boot.

My college daughter requested these boots for Christmas. we knew order had to go in early to receive by Christmas. We ordered sept 28 and they guaranteed for Christmas said they would be mailed by nov 29. They mailed even earlier than that. They were Christmas present but she wore them to Mississippi state/old miss football game and loves them. We r from Alabama and she goes to Mississippi state so really did not need for real cold weather or snow but they would be great for that!! She ordered them because they r very popular and fashionable!! I love them because they are guaranteed for life!! If up want these boots please order way ahead of time because they are hand made and very popular so there is a wait. But very worth the wait. Very well made and very fashionable as well as great for bad cold and wet weather. Very happy customers!!

I LOVE these boots. This is my first pair of Bean Boots. I had thought about getting them for awhile, and I finally pulled the trigger back in September. They were back-ordered (to be expected) and just arrived before the first snow in Chicago (before Thanksgiving). I have loved wearing them around in the rain and snow. They are just perfect and I'm so glad that I ordered Size 7 (Medium width). Even though I usually wear an 8 in boots (7.5 in other shoes), I followed the reviews and it worked out great. I typically describe myself as a 7.5-8 size with a narrow heel. If that describes you, go for the Size 7! ENJOY!!!

I prefer to wear my boots when it's 60 degrees or colder with L.L. Bean''s Camp Socks. The Gore-Tex and sewn-in tongue keeps my feet dry in the rain/snow. The tongue of the boots is attached or sewn-in so that the rain/snow won't get inside the boots. I un-tie the first two top lace holes so that I can place my foot in the boot. I re-tie them once I have the boots on. The Thinsulate lining keep my feet warm when it's cold. I used L.L. Bean's "Boot Guard" before my first wearing to keep the leather part of the boots from getting that "aged, cracked" look that rain/snow will cause over time. You can use a special treatment spray to keep the rubber part of the boots looking pristine or new. The boots are comfortable, but they do have slight weight that may not be good for a lot of walking. I normally wear a 7.5 Medium in boots. I got these in a 7 Medium. They have room for thick socks. You can adjust the fit by tightening the laces. Overall, I am pleased because I had been wanting these for years and I finally bought them online during the summer because you get them much faster because they are basically backordered during the colder months.

I ordered these mostly because the original ones were on backorder until February. Then I found out that the normal width in these were also on backorder so I took a chance and ordered the narrow because the backorder wait was only 3 weeks. I have lanky feet in general but have never worn a narrow fit. When I received these I was more than pleased to find that the narrow fit didn't suffocate my feet and toes. They felt a bit snug but after wearing them around for a day they loosened right up. I even wore them with medium weight socks. I wear shoes between 8-9 and took another gamble by ordering an 8. They were perfect. I also didn't find the attached tongue of the boot to hinder getting my foot in and out either. The tongue was a bit stiff at first and rubbed my leg but after wearing them for a little bit the tongue seemed to wear in a bit and no longer bothered me. I glad I ordered these ones because they have the Gore-Tex water resistant leather, unlike the original, and the thinsulate lining. Overall, I am very happy I took the gamble on the smaller size and narrow fit. I'm glad the backorder on the originals led me to buy these with the thinsulate lining and Gore-Tex. Definitely worth the money!!

I ordered my first pair of bean boots (8" Gor-Tex Thinsulate) back in Sept. and they were on back order till November 22. I actually got them early and rcvd them on October 27th which was a a nice surprise! After reading through some of the reviews and even consulting with one of the representative through LLBean's chat I decided to go with the size 7 in Medium Width. I was a little hesitant because I can wear anything from a size 7 1/2 in heels/flats to a size 8-9 in tennis shoes (depending on the brand). When talking to the representative I let him know that I would mainly be wearing thin socks with mine, seeing as that I live in South Carolina and winter's aren't to harsh here. After trying them on and wearing them around I am very pleased with the size 7's I ordered! My foot doesn't feel cramped and if I were to wear thicker socks it'll still feel comfortable. The Medium width is really comfortable but if you have a super narrow foot I would probably recommend the narrow width. I think I have a "normal" width foot which is why I went with the Medium. My recommendation is that if you're not sure which size you should order then chat with one the representatives and they'll answer any questions/concerns you have.

Great boots! They are a little stiff right out of the box, but that is to be expected. My foot is somewhat narrow, so I chose the AA in my normal 6 shoe size. The fit is perfect! I've worn them about five times now, and they become more comfortable with each wear.
