Unless you intend to wear there with really heavy winter socks, go a size smaller than normal.

I'm usually a size 10 and received a size 10 boot. It was too big. I took it back and got a 9 and it was perfect.

I normally wear a size 8.5 and I ordered an 8. I thought the fit was pretty spot on according to the directions and reviews on picking a size. If I wear medium/thin weight socks the boots fit good, but still roomy. If I wear heavy socks they a still good too, but with less room. I thought the leather on top might be annoying or rub against my lower legs too much, but its soft enough to not be bothersome. I really didn't need a break in period. They were great for walking around muddy/frozen ski area parking lots and through snow. Feet stayed dry!

Bean boots are still the best! They are true to size once you figure out what your Bean Boot size is.

These boots are so well made and sturdy. They came super fast and were exactly as described. I am usually a 6.5-7 and bought a 6M. Fit perfectly without having to "wear them in" at all! They also left me with just enough room for thick wool socks. I wasn't aware these boots weren't insulated or lined with anything, so when I wore them in Alaska last week, my toes got cold fast. Maybe another style has it? Either way, feet stayed dry and I would definitely recommend. So excited to be wearing these for years to come.

I debated for a long time over these boots. I just wasn't sure about the fit, the size, or height. I finally decided to go ahead and place my order: if I wasn't happy I'd take a drive down to Freeport to return/exchange them. No need for the drive! After a bit of breaking in, the leather is a bit stiff at first, they are great. I did change out the laces which were way too long for a darker color lace. They are comfortable to wear while shoveling (if anything can make it comfortable), cleaning the car, getting to the mailbox or running errands. They keep my feet warm and dry! A no nonsense boot for no nonsense weather!

I ordered the size smaller than I normally wear as recommended and the fit is perfect. I have the same boots in navy/brown that are 8" tall and I like these so much better because I feel the taller boots make my legs look shorter and I'm only 5'4" as it is.

Would highly recommend. They are very comfortable and look great! They have a little squeak in the leather, but I'm hoping that works out in time!

Delivered today. I wear an 8; bought one size down as indicated by LLbean. Yes. Their suggestion was spot-on for me. Taking them on a break-in journey. Put one pair of medium-weight wool socks for test walk around the house. Tongue a little stiff as expected with new leather. 2 hours in, added second pair of light-weight wool socks, different brand, higher height-wise than first pair, but folded them into a cuff to cushion ankles. Feeling better around ankles. While sitting, flexing feet like I'm pushing on a car's gas pedal and brake to keep the movement momentum going. Stay tuned!

I am in love with my Bean Boots! After reading what felt like hundreds of reviews I made the decision to get the 6" and I could not be happier. They are super comfortable, look great, but they do take a little getting used to getting them on. I normally wear an 8 1/2 to a 9 depending on the brand so I was slightly nervous purchasing a size 7 as suggested buy the fit guide, but they know what they are talking about because they fit perfectly.

I've always owned a pair of bean boots, and I took an opportunity this year to upgrade to the 6" boot since I really liked the British Tan/Deepest Pine color combination. I routinely buy a size 6 (or sometimes a 6.5) shoe, and I decided to get a size 7 in the 6" boot since I would be wearing heavy socks. When the boots arrived, they were actually a little large so I exchanged them for a 6. The size 6 is perfect; I'm very happy with my purchase!

Having a wide foot always presents a problem especially when searching for a comfortable shoe for walking. I hesitated to go for a long walk without wearing them around the house first but there was snow on the ground and it was a chilly morning so I had no choice. I was so warm and comfortable. The quality is excellent and I know I will get many years out of these boots!!

I was so excited that there a boot in a 5! The color is gorgeous- and I couldn't be happier!

A recent move to the country prompted me to finally purchase a pair of LL Bean boots. I broke them in while shoveling snow out of my driveway. They were comfortable, provided great traction, and kept my feet warm! I'm in love with these boots!

I have been looking at these boots online for more than a year. BUT! the reviews worried me and I wasn't sure which boot to get. Well, it turns out, I was in Detroit after Christmas and decided to head to the LL Bean Store and check them out. So glad I did. The salesman was SO helpful. Encouraged me to put a different boot on each foot and walk around the store as long as I wanted to. Really? Who does that? Settled on this boot. These boots are SO comfortable and I just know they are going to last for years. I did REALLY have to go DOWN in size. I am, hands down, a size 8 in every shoe, but these! I needed a size 7. I wear these in the house. They are THAT comfortable! There is only ONE negative comment I can make, and that's that the boots do take a bit of tugging to get on. But that doesn't take away one ounce of my love for them. I get so many compliments on them. LOVE LOVE LOVE them!

I generally wear an 8 1/2 and didn't want to go up to a 9. After reading the reviews on these boots I decided to order size 8. I wear thick boot socks with them and still have plenty of room. Wore them with regular socks one day and my feet swam around in them, lol. Maybe my next pair will be a narrow!

My 14 year old daughter is thrilled with these boots. They protect her feet from slush and snow, but way more importantly, they are stylish! Way to go LL Bean!

I love my boots!

Love my first pair of Bean Boots! I followed sizing instructions and selected 0.5-1 size down. I went with a size 6 (normally a 6.5, or 7 in some shoes). Fits perfect. Squeaks at first but only lasts about a week. The tongue is sewed to the shoe on both sides all the way up, which prevents moisture from getting in. Finally, no wet or frozen feet when out in the snow or rain! Takes a little work to get your foot into the shoe until you figure your way around this type of sewn tongue, which is why I chose the shorter boot. Definitely love the quality of this boot!!

Finally broke down like many others and bought a pair or 2 of famed Bean boots and they do not disappoint. This is the second pair I purchased during Bean's 20% off sale so could not beat the price on either pair (second pair were the Tumbled Leather Chamois). Unlike others who have sized down per Bean's recommendation, I purchased my normal size 9. They leave me plenty of room in the toes to wear a thicker sock. Living in the Chicago area I also purchased Bean's shearling liners for those cold and snowy days, which have been non-existent so far! The boots warmth with the liners got a true test up in Green Bay, WI while attending a Bears/Packers game when temps reached 9 degrees yet my feet were warm. That was also wearing a thick wool sock and removing the normal liner and replacing with the Shearling. Comfort is key to me in any form of footwear since I do suffer from a few foot issues and these boots are very comfortable. Walked downtown Chicago for hours without complaint.

These are my most favorite boots!!!!

This is the perfect rain and light snow boot. I am sick of the clunky Hunter boots. These are comfy and keep my feet dry. Perfect with large wool socks and these keep your feet warmer and protect the ankle from the rubbing of the top of the boot. I do think I will get the boots with a leather trim on top next time. Wish this style came in navy. Only available in brown when I purchased.

I usually wear a 7 followed directions and ordered size down-fits perfect! Love LL Bean and their products can't go wrong!

Love these boots. I have very narrow feet so I was very pleased to find a narrowAA size. I can still wear thicker socks and it is very comfortable. I wear a size 9 but the reviews said to go back 1 size so I did and the fit is Great! My big toe has lots of wiggle room and the arch support is comfortable. Haven't had much snow to test them out but they work well in wet weather.
